Kate Allen was on a journey to find the answers to the buried secrets of her past. She wondered if she could trust this detective to help her when she walked into his office. Nick De Luca was not someone she expected. She flushed and swallowed hard. Her stomach fluttered as his long fingers brushed his shaggy dark-brown hair away from his forehead. Kate thought he was hot. Nick De Luca was certainly not her father's age, but her own. She hesitated a moment when he extended his hand across his desk. Dark blue eyes caught her gaze. He cocked his head and smiled. "It's nice to meet you, Miss Allen." His voice was husky as his hand closed around hers, sending wanton desires coursing through her veins.
