I got this particular book as a bonus when I first subscribed to MAD. It's full of great Don Martin cartoons reprinted at full size on the same newsprint stock MAD used to be printed on. While it's cool that MAD has just published a two-volume hardcover slipcased edition of all of Don Martin's MAD cartoons, I prefer to experience Martin's work in this affordable, lightweight edition.
i found this in my closet, visiting my folks. i realize there are many problematic things about don martin, but i really love the man's style and his use of onomatopoeia is particularly close to my ticker. hm, i kind of wish this comp had his take on Coleridges' "Rime of the Ancient Mariner", "Rime of the Modern Skateboarder"...
This book contains one hundred sixty six imaginative, entertaining and stylish cartoon stories. In one of them, when a guy throws his ringing alarm clock out of the window, the snoozing mechanism comes back to haunt him unexpectedly...
This was another great collection of cartoons from MAD Magazine, all showcasing the bizarre humor and great artwork of the legendary Don Martin. You can't go wrong with these; some may be a little dated, but they are dang funny through and through! Don Martin was definitely an American Original!
