Hands on and comprehensive overview of snippets of info I’ve been coming across for years.
“Healing may not be so much about getting better, as about letting go of everything that isn’t you — all of the expectations, all of the beliefs — and becoming who you are.” 83
Interesting. I'm not sure you could read this and learn how to do energy work, but having done it for a few years there is some helpful information year. It's more of an introduction than anything else.
The manual introduces and explains six core energy techniques every healer should know, alongside diagnostic tools to tailor healing modalities for specific health conditions. Dale also stresses the importance of intention, ethical practice, and maintaining strong but flexible energetic boundaries to ensure safe and effective healing work. The book covers a wide array of healing practices such as breathwork, acupressure, sound and color therapy, and sacred geometry, making subtle energy medicine accessible and applicable for self-care and professional use.
A distinctive feature of Dale’s approach is the bridging of complementary and conventional medicine. The manual promotes a holistic view where healing is not merely the elimination of symptoms but a process of restoring wholeness—supporting a person’s inherent completeness beyond physical conditions. Compassion, acceptance, and consciousness shifting are cornerstones for facilitating profound healing transformations.
The Subtle Body Practice Manual serves as an indispensable resource for energy healing practitioners and anyone interested in incorporating subtle energy work into their health routines. It provides extensive practical knowledge with clear explanations, making it suitable for learners who seek an in-depth, hands-on methodology grounded in a broad spectrum of energy medicine traditions.
In summary, Cyndi Dale’s manual offers a comprehensive, ethical, and integrative guide that empowers readers to harness the power of subtle energy for healing on multiple levels—physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual—bridging ancient wisdom and modern practice seamlessly.
This book is loaded with information. But I was so bored reading it and I kept skipping through. Not captivating. Reads more like a boring lecture. But if you just need access to the content then it provides.
A great help for the inspiring healers and for those wishing to deepen their knowledge of energy healing. many years on, I always go back to this very informative book.
I'm not going to comment on the content or its potential accuracy/validity. Either you believe in this stuff, or you don't; those who don't will never convince those who do or vice versa.
It's basically an introduction to different alternative modalities, some better known (and more mainstream) than others. It is written for potential practitioners (something I didn't realize when I decided to check it out of the library.) At the very least, after reading this, you will at least have a general idea of what someone is talking about if the topic of Reiki or meridians or auras comes up. Think of it as a wiki for that sort of thing: lots of information, none of it deep. Each topic is presented in a clear, concise writing style, which is what I'm basing most of my rating on. Apparently there are a lot of graphics in the print edition (based on info on Amazon), but the e-book edition had only a few line drawings.
Though this book did indeed cover a lot of material with exercises throughout, I felt that it tried to be to be too many things (ie. the "comprehensive" part of its subtitle). I would personally rather read thorough books on specific topics, I guess. Also, an editing mistake (that made me question other graphics) on page 146: the reiki symbol shown is _not_ cho ku rei.
