a great beginner's guide to glaze formulation in oxidation firing. i'm especially impressed with the author's attention to leaching, safety, and glaze stability--these are important ethical issues in the production of functional pottery intended for everyday use, but, unfortunately, they usually take a back seat to aesthetics. safety and stability are an important part of function, so any potter concerned with both form and function should should look to creating a stable glaze as well as a beautiful one.

This is a great book about cone 6 glazes. Lots of good useful information that I have yet to find in another glaze recipe books. I recommend this one to anyone looking for a mid-range fire glaze book.
