Have you ever wondered if we live when we die? Do our beloved pets live on after death? Will we see them again? Have you ever thought you've seen a dark, ghostly figure out of the corner of your eye, but it vanished when you looked towards it? How many times have you awoken suddenly, certain that someone has called your name, but there is no one to be seen? What is clairvoyance? How does a medium make contact with the Spirit World? What is a ghost, and can we communicate with one?
These are some of the fascinating questions examined in this thought provoking book.
Fiona Roberts has been involved in the world of the Paranormal for over thirty years and includes some beautifully written stories and anecdotes from her life and work as a medium in this, the second book in the series. 'Ghost of a Smile' the first book about Fiona Roberts' life has been an Amazon bestseller for a year.
I come from a family of clairvoyants and sailors, so I suppose it's no surprise that I have travelled quite a bit, nor that I now work as a Medium/psychic. I lived 10 years in Paris early on, teaching English - enjoyed every moment of it! I began writing then. I ran an agency promoting the work of mediums, psychics and clairvoyants when I got back to England. In 2009 Tod (my lovely husband) and I spent 5 months in a remote village in the Himalayas of Nepal teaching English. That was an eye opening life changer! We have been back twice, and plan to go again soon. Tod and I have allotments and grow fruit and vegetables, and we have a flock of ex battery chickens, and a fantastic rescue dog called Buzz. Oh, and I spend quite a lot of time writing!
I received this book free from Goodread's first-readers.

While the beginning might discourage some readers by making them think the book isn't for them, please continue reading because you will be glad you did. Voices: Memories from a Medium's Life was an interesting and thought provoking read. I would definitely read other books written by the author. Fiona Roberts was clear and succinct in explaining the differences in different types of clairvoyance and mediums and Fiona explained how mediums work for her.
Although I would preferred there to have been more content of Fiona's experiences as a medium than some descriptions that were sometimes unnecessary and I would have preferred the references to her other books at the back instead of in the middle of the stories, this was still an insightful read and it ended too soon.
I recently received a copy of this book for free through Goodreads First Reads. At first glance I thought that I would not enjoy this novel. Only because I am the type of person that decides what to read based on the cover. I will say that from the very first page I was captivated and intrigued. This author has an amazing writing skill, one of which pulls you in and makes you want to keep reading to the very end. Even though this novel is rather short I did thoroughly enjoy reading about her life and experiences, as well as the experiences of other members of her family. I am actually a skeptic when it comes to Medium's and the after life but to tell you the truth her stories that she portrays in this little novel will have you questioning yourself, just as I am! Voices: Memories from a Medium's Life overall is a great little novel, give it a read. This is one of those novels that you should not judge a book by it's cover. I will say that you should read her previous novels before reading this one, as she does reference her previous novels in this one. That part I particularily did not like, as it leaves me wondering to myself "well now what was the whole story". For this reason alone is why I gave this book 4 stars out of 5. If the author would have at least briefly described what the other stories are all about then I would have gave it 5/5.
I was thrilled to win this book on GOODREADS GIVEAWAY as I have always been fascinated by the paranormal. This book is about a mediums experiences which answered a few of my own episodes. A sensitive and stirring read.
I won this book on Goodreads. If this topic interests you or even if it doesn't this is a good short read. I enjoyed and was fascinated by the stories. I would read other books written by this author.
