The pendant, gem, dagger, and robe of a dead woman have decided my fate.

Now over three hundred magus look to me to save them from the impossibly powerful demon king.

It’s safe to say my life took a little turn. But defeating a mere demon army would make life too simple, apparently. The demon king’s magic also permeates the knolls, driving the wedge of discord deep in the coven. So much has changed. So many are uncertain. Suspicion and uncertainty will find their target.

The burden of my secret heritage weighs heavy, and yet there’s no option but to shoulder this as I sit on a throne I never wanted. Further upheaval will see everyone around me die. Though if Wild and I can’t figure out why our mating ritual suddenly stopped, we could be dead before the demons even arrive…

If you can’t get enough of books by Annette Marie, Laura Thalassa, or C.N. Crawford, or just the paranormal romance genre in general, then dive into this supernatural world where the prize is love, and failure means death.

My thoughts are about all three books. And I will copy the same text to the other two books too.

This is the third series in the Supernatural Battle World. I'm starting with ranking the series, how I liked them:
Vampire Towers and Coven Caves are my favorites.
The Werewolf Dens were not as good as these two in my opinion.

What I really liked about this series:
Finally all series come together and we see that there is a bigger picture.
We meet all the mated pairs from the other books: Basilia and Kyros, Andi and Sascha.
All the pairs feel drawn to each other.

Finally we also get to know the background of the games. And they kind of make more sense. But I wonder if all people playing the games, never saw the change in their society.

I liked that Tempest was a strong heroin, but sometimes she was too strong and wouldn't talk about her plans. Also she had emotional baggage and found a big secret about her heritage. And didn't trust her coven enough to share it earlier.

Wild is one wild guy. He has trouble with the things happening to him and Tempest. One minute he is hot the next he is very cold. He and his friends were kind of outsiders who formed a group and are now the guys who everyone wants to be friends with. And they help him in any situation and they have each others back. At some point Wild's friends ignore Tempest, because Wild says so. There brotherhood is above anything else.

I liked Tempests cousin. I'm annoyed how manipulative several non coven members and also some coven members were. I didn't like it.

I'm just writing my thoughts down and feel like I can't explain too much, otherwise I will spoil too much.

I enjoyed listening and reading this series.

As much as I usually enjoyed the author's books, especially in this universe, this one didn't quite work for me. The pacing dragged on with repetitive villainy that didn't give us any new information, our main male romance interest acted like a one-track horny dog with no brains, and I felt overall, there was just a lot of telling, not showing. Dialogue was stilted and not organic to me, and the humor seemed forced.

I did find the ending twist and cliffhanger intriguing and plan to check out the next series, and I enjoyed the cameos from the MCs of the previous two series, but I think this book had too many new plot threads that weren't resolved in depth for a satisfying read and conclusion.

If you're reading this review, hopefully you've read the previous two books in the series, as well as the companion series in this work involving the werewolves and the vampires. If you haven't - go and read them right now. They are so good and probably my favourite set of series' I have read in recent years.

Last Gift sees Tempest and Wild's story reach an epic finale - and epic it certainly is.

Tempest has gone through a lot in the past two books, and now has to contend with being thrust into a position of leadership, while at the same time keeping the massive and potentially explosive secret of her half demonic heritage a secret. There's also the peaky imminent demon invasion to deal with, as well the mating bond driving Wild somewhat crazy.

Needless to say, she has her hands full!

But the pace, the plot, the character development and relationship development was just spot on the whole way through, to the point I can't even think of a single little.nigfle to mention.

We also got some decent page time with Basi and Kyros and Andi and Sasha, which made me so happy!

And that was ending! Talk about a crazy set up for the final series involving the demons!

Go read it now!

This was the finally book in the Coven Caves series but it take place in the Supernatural Battle world with the other two series Werewolf Dens and Vampire Towers. The other two series were fantastic as well but boy did this one have my emotions all of the place. I won't give it away but I saw something coming and I was still crying anyway 😢. I felt for Tempest so much as though her anger was my own. Kelly has a way of always pulling you in with her characters that you feel their joy, pain, anger and loss as though you have gone through it. Also the major plot twisted and the very end was beyond major and I can't believe I have to wait with all these questions until the next series. I hope Kelly is already in writing cave because I need this like I need one of Rooke's stiff drinks. This will be a series I will not forget and forever love.

But I Want More!!

This entire world is one of my favorites! With each trilogy set in the world I say "oh this couple is my favorite" and Wild and Tempest have been no different. I have loved every moment of the Coven Caves trilogy and am so sad it's over now!! The battle with the demons had me holding my breath and I loved getting to see old friends from the other series again! I absolutely cannot wait for the next series set in this world!!

What a bittersweet conclusion to this series. I loved watching Tempest character grow with each book. It was certainly a nail biter especially towards the end. I loved seeing the cameo appearances from the previous characters in the series as well! I cannot wait to see what happens next in the Supernatural Battle.

Since I read all 9! books to this Supernatural Battle series within a week while working full-time there is no point in reviewing them separately. I will instead review each of the three interconnected series.

Before starting this third installation in the Supernatural Battle series I was not sure what to expect. I’ve read a good share of vampire and werwolf stories but witches/magus only played a minor role in the books I’ve read. So in a twist nobody - including myself - saw coming the Coven Caves was my favorite series of the three. I was GRIPPED!

The series deals with Tempest who is a witch who’s returning to the Coven her mother and grandmother left before she was born and warned her to never return to. But the murder of them and her twin sister leave her desperate to trace back a sudden new connection she feels.

The world-building and especially the four kinds of magic that magus can be gifted with were fascinating! I loved that Mother as in Mother Nature was a very central theme. The created atmosphere felt spiritual and deeply grounded.
Tempest as our heroine needed that spirituality more than the prior two heroines because while all of them had to suffer through a lot of pain, Tempest was dealt the hardest card I would say. I really liked her as a character because while being smart and confident in her values she also showed a lot of vulnerability.
Wild as the MMC felt also more complex than the others before. While they were so obviously and dramatically an Alpha, Wild felt more unsure of his place in the world. Was he an arrogant ass at times? You betcha but what’s a great love story without some banter?
In Coven Caves the central theme was community and that was also cemented through the thorough characterization of the side characters. Each got a deserving back story and room to grow. Which made the story as a whole feel more well-rounded. I LOVED the little moments where the magus were confronted with human inventions and how the tried to explain that “magic”. Truly hilarious.
Now to the biggest problem with the series: the pacing. While the first one was very well-paced and I simply flew through it. The second and third really dragged at times. I think the author tried to counter the dragging parts by adding more sex scenes but at some point it just didn’t add anything to the plot or the relationship of Tempest and Wild which isn’t my preference personally. I think a major problem was that Wild’s personality was kind of on the back-burner in the later parts because Tempest’s struggle and Coven politics were pushed to the forefront and Wild’s job was reduced to soothing and reassuring. But the last big fight and the twist at the end had me literally gasping so I can’t give it anything less than five stars.

What a banger this was! We finally understand how all of those games are interconnected and I cannot wait for the last installment to drop. Why is this not viral on BookTok? The covers, it’s the covers.
Kelly St. Clare if you happen to read this: thank you for giving us such a great world to dream about. I will recommend it to everyone! Is the nature inspired by NZ? If so I want to visit.

An amazing conclusion to the coven caves series. Tempest and wild are amazing to read about, and their group of supportive friends are sassy and interesting.

Violence
Spicy 🌶️ 🌶️
Betrayal
Demons, witches, vampires, werewolves

This is a series that is part of an interconnected series. While you can read this series alone, it is significantly better if you read it from the very beginning series all the way through this one.

Tempest has come along way from when she first joined the coven. She has really begun to come into her own, and start accepting her true nature. However, will the coven accept who she is, or rather what she is? Only time will tell. In the meantime, she is having to deal with very serious issues, both within herself, and within the coven , unfortunately, it seems like no matter what she does she will have very clear opposition.

Wild has always had some issues. However, the love he feels for Tempest is beautiful to see. Anytime you have someone in a specific role within their relationship doubts can begin to creep in. Like most protectors when the person you are tempting to protect is put in danger they begin to feel like a failure. Wild is having to deal with feelings of failure and insecurity in this book. the main thing that I really like about this book and this series is just because he begins to feel insecure does not mean that he turns into a new person. By that I mean, he doesn’t turn into a dick!

The demons have shown their face. Now it is time to decide what they will do. Will the coven come together and fight side-by-side against a shared enemy? Or will they continue to fight amongst each other bringing the demon hoard closer and closer to enslaving them.

I absolutely love that we see some familiar faces from the previous series. They work together beautifully, and they are still the couples I know in love from reading their stories before this. I loved how the characters grew and developed as the series went on. Even the secondary characters grew like normal people instead of staying stagnant. This whole author has the wonderful ability to draw you in and make you care about all of the characters. It draws you deeper into the world as opposed to books that have lifelike main characters and two dimensional side characters.

I can’t wait until the next series in this world comes out. Until then, I think I will do a re-read of all of them.

The Pieces are Coming Together – Coven Caves Conclusion Leaves Me Needing More Supernatural Battles

Last Gift ends another trilogy in the Supernatural Battles world. And with this conclusion, readers are that much closer to the universe’s epic finale. As usual, Kelly St. Clare pulled me in and held me captive with her fabulous writing. My only complaint is that a couple of the spicy scenes felt unnecessary to the overall plot. I like it when the romance adds to the story instead of padding it, but since that is a preference, I did not let it impact my rating. One of my favorite things about St. Clare’s writing is her character development, the characters grow into themselves over the story. And this book delivers that growth in a big way. While I struggled to connect, appreciate, and even forgive some of these characters (Wild) in the first two books, I finally got there. Bonus, this book has some huge crossovers with the previous two Supernatural Battles series.

I highly enjoyed Last Gift. It is my favorite book in the Coven Caves trilogy and reinforced my love for the Supernatural Battles world. I was engrossed and now cannot wait to see what comes next.

To Summarize:

🧙‍♀️ Length: Novel

🌿 Genre: Urban fantasy/paranormal romance – witches, demons, shifters, vampires etc.

🩸 POV: First person, female main character

👿 Age: Adult – characters are on the younger side (20s), so they are not completely mature and they are written to their age

🧙‍♀️ Warnings: Language; sexual content; violence

🌿 Spice: Moderate spice, limited number of scenes that are high-heat and on page

🩸 Violence: Battle-centric action

👿 Editing: One or two minor issues, overall, I was too involved in this book to notice – I highlighted more quotes/things to remember than anything else.

🧙‍♀️ World: Supernatural Battle Earth (There are 2 complete, previous series in this universe – this book is much more enjoyable if the reader has read them)

🌿 Series: Supernatural Battle: Coven Caves – Book 3

🩸 Tropes: Tragic backstory, found family, unique character, magical bonds, grumpy/sunshine, forced proximity, courting/mating ritual, alpha male, sacrifice

👿 Ending: This trilogy is concluded, but there is still more coming in the Supernatural Battle universe. And I will be here for it. I need it!

🧙‍♀️ Re-read? Most definitely

Whattttt. Ends on a cliffhanger even though this is the last book of this series?! Whatever, I was planning on reading Demon Peaks anyway.. 😂

-had the best time reading about the Magus out of the whole series (so far..). It had the most complex magic/world building and I really liked the academy/community setting. Mate/Queen tropes were 🍒.
-enjoyed the crossover with the vamp/werewolf series and how it all ties back to the demons
-liked the focus on plot/character development rather than romance. It was pretty fast-paced, but could've skipped some repetitive background plot like how many times did your advisors need to come tell you about "bad news" and the coven switching sides every second like we get it lol
- Rooke continues to be my fav <3
"High Esteemed, I've come to inform you that I'm requesting a transfer from this cover. I cannot abide by living under a leadership based on lies."
"Then fill out the damn application, you ink-haired fuck," Rooke snarled. Moving past me, she slammed the door in his face.
😂💯 STRAIGHTTT.
-I was a bit sus after that last memory visit but did not expect that plot twist... I should've known. So confused about the demon king's intentions and how the plot will play out now.. prob antihero/enemies to lovers plot lol
-King Julius/Varden...RIP thank you for your sacrifice...?? not the old guys self-sacrificing :') was giving: gotta sacrifice some characters so goodbye mom + Sawyer's leg in Iron Flame LOL
-everything was just a lil too easy/smooth/predictable. She was locked up for like 1 minute llol also they beat the demons so easily like ..?? and also getting her demon back just like that..?
-Frond, Bedwyr (weirdass name), and Josie needed to die. Maybe if we're lucky in the next series :)😂

There is a reason I read Kelly St Clare's books as soon as I get them. And it's because the calibre of each and every one is outstanding.

Last Gift brought the heat, the coven politics, and the heart pumping conclusion to the Coven Caves Trilogy. We are now 3/4 through the Supernatural Battle World, and it has been one hell of a ride!!!

The character development of Tempest and every side character is impressive. They had such depth and their own personal growth, motivations, and actions. Some of these actions were surprising but really did fit with the character and their beliefs. They were so realistic for me even when they did things outside of what we would've liked.

Now, the highlight for me of this book, series and every book St Clare has written is the story telling and plot twists. She is a born storyteller or has an amazing editor hahaha... probably both. The story feels well researched fleshed out and everything has a purpose that makes it so easy to read and become engrossed in the story.

If you are new to the Supernatural battle world, I highly recommend starting with Kyoto's and Basilia's Trilogy that starts in Blood Trial. Then continue with Andy and Sascha's story in Shifter Wars. The cameos from these characters was so fun to read.

This is romance and 2 or 3 on the Spiceometer, but the goods is in the story. There is enough smeggsy time that my romance friends will love, and all the plot, magic systems, and action that fantasy and urban fantasy lovers will enjoy as well.

Bring on Demon Peaks!!!! ...Now please

She put a spell on us

Kelly St Clare is back in the Supernatural Battle Arena, and she's bringing the heat (wink-wink), the laughs (Wade sighting), and all the heart you can handle. This is Last Gift, Book 3 in the Coven Caves Series.

You'd think winning a big battle against the demons, being chosen by the relics of Ryzika, and ending a game that has divided the Coven for 300 years would be enough to get a break, but it isn't. Danger from the demons is seeping in again, and there's a faction within the Coven undermining Tempest at every turn. And if that's not enough, there's a glitch with the mating ritual. A girl just can't catch a break!

Last Gift is everthing the final installment of Coven Caves needs to be. Tempest and West sizzle. We meet with old friends from the Supernatural Battle Series, tying it all together. That's the thing about St Clare, her characters are richly crafted, and it's a delight to see them again. There's intrigue and danger, and there's that twist at the end.

I always enjoy a Kelly St Clare book, I'm a huge fan for a good reason. Exciting, original characters that grab your interest and your heart from the very beginning, and always filled with emotion, be that intrigue, laughs or tears. Last Gift more than fits that bill, and lived up to every one of my expectations, and more.

4.5☆ Tempest and Wild

I loved every moment of being back in the supernatural battle world. I honestly can't wait for the D3mons story it's going to be so good I can feel it ♡ This book caught me a little in the feels towards the end and I was not at all prepared for how it hurt my heart 💔 this was a great installment in this world, whilst Kyros and Basi will always hold my heart, Tempest and Wild are right up there.

The relics of Ryzika may have chosen Tempest as the next coven leader, but that didn't mean everyone in the coven wanted her. They've spent their whole lives playing Caves and with the relics selecting their leader that brought the game to a close. Many believe Tempest isn't fit for the job, and perhaps she used dark magic to gain her position. The threat on their doorstep is very real, though, and whilst many might not want her, she will do all she can to protect the coven whether they want it or not.
The task ahead seems large. Unite the coven, prepare for an attack, hide her true nature, and stop those trying to bring her down from within coven walls. Easy, right.
She'll have to make some tough decisions like forming an alliance with unlikely Allies, but she'll do it all if it means those she's grown to love survive the danger coming.

Definitely Recommend Reading 📚

The final instalment of Tempest’s story was worth the read. The final battle with Demon King cleverly suggests a spin off that I can’t wait to read. I loved the depth of her relationships with the main side characters, especially Varden, Brooke and Huxley. I did find the constant “upgrades” to Tempest’s magic, mate bond, relics, and/or the dual sides of herself, with the fallout drama as she and everyone else around her adjusted, slowed down the pace of the book. Nice to see previous Supernatural Battle series couples provide assistance to the coven.
Fav Quote:
"I’ll just be myself,” I said, trying the comment out for size. Sven grimaced. “Try saying that again without looking constipated.” I smiled brightly. “I’ll just be myself!” The three quad members stared at me, and I felt Wild’s internal grimace. I dropped my smile faster than a burning bag of shit. “We’re fucked.”
Star ratings:
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ - I can't stop daydreaming and telling everyone about this book.
⭐⭐⭐⭐ - A great read with all the feels. I would read again.
⭐⭐⭐ - I liked the book but wouldn't it read again.
⭐⭐ - Usually in the DNF pile or I suffered until the end for whatever reason.
⭐- Just no.

An epic story.

I have absolutely loved this story. These characters were intelligent and interesting and a pleasure to read. There was a lot of introspection that had you thinking about their character and how everyone interacted together. The world was full and so well thought out.

In this last part of the Buried Knolls story, Tempest has been made leader and must balance her love for the community and the job of protecting and preparing it for the coming battle with the demons, with the fact that she has to keep her ancestry a secret for those very reasons. Not to mention her relationship with Wild and how it is growing. She is not only faced with the threat of the coming fight, but also subterfuge from other magus both from another coven and their own.

There was so much going on, and so much to love. The characters had built such a strong family feel and I was completely invested. And we got to see characters from previous books which, of course, I loved. When the final battle with the demons came, I was pretty emotional about it. It was all action and heart. Not to mention deliciously bloodthirsty. I found myself cackling like a total psycho.

Epic. Absolutely loved it.

The final book in this trilogy follows some of the same patterns as the second trilogy with Tempest, like Andie, being outed - Andie as a wolf shifter and Tempest as being part Demon - and the subsequent rejection by their tribe/coven. Both Andie and Tempest are reclaimed by their coven/tribe when they realize a greater threat or need requires them to ally with the person/monster they feared most. Here the greater threat is demons - are at least a particular Demon faction who is hellbent on taking over the coven - as well as the tribal lands and vampire estates. Thus begins an uneasy alliance - the one Andie brokered with Basi and Kyros and the Vampire clans now extended to the witch covens. And St Clare has revealed the broader end-game, one that suggests that all the higher powers that shifter wolves and vampires share were originally derived from Demons. The covens are now embarking on their own mating ritual that will offer them the same hightened powers and extended lives through the mating ritual. Kudos to St. Clare for the massive origin story that links these trilogies together, demerits to St. Clare for rehashing the same/similar plot points over the last two novels.

Disappointed

I am so sad to rate this book less than 4 stars when I loved the first two trilogies in the Supernatural Battle series. This book just failed to meet the expectations set by how Basi and Andie handled their own conflicts.

Obviously, Tempest is my least favorite FMC and Wild is my least favorite MMC as well. I liked Tempest more when she was a no-fucks-given type of gal. This book made her too much of a martyr and I almost stopped reading because of that. Wild, on the other hand, felt more like a side character to me.

Wow, this series has had me on the edge of my seat. While there is an epic finale in this book and series, there are some major twists that will leave you hungry for more. Tempest has been through so much and it’s prepared her for the confrontation with the demons (haha) of her past and present. The more she tries to control outcomes around her the more she realizes her path has been set for her and she needs to let it all go and trust her instincts and herself and that what needs to happen will happen. Her relationship with Wild has been through trials but now has become stronger and hotter than ever. Every woman needs a Wild in their corner. Kelly’s ability to build unique and deep friendships in her books always gets my emotions going. I laughed and cried along with Tempest and her found family. This was an amazing book and I cant wait for the final trilogy in this thrilling universe.

10 🌟

This author is really good at what she does. I love her writing and her stories. This series as the ones before it shows alot of ingenuity and creativity and what a great mind this author has to create such sophisticated stories . I loved ingenium and caves I probably should have read grids before this one but it doesn't really have an impact on this story so I will be going back to reading Sascha and Andies books later. Back to this one what a great end to what have been an amazing story full of twists and turns , friendships and so much more, that last chapter now that twist there I'm all for it and can't wait for those books to be realeased.
If you haven't read this series yet or the previous ones then you're really missing out. Read them you won't be disappointed! Quite the opposite you'll be transported to these worlds created by this creative author and you 'll be hooked.

Wowza! ❤✨

Bravo indeed! What a brilliant conclusion to this exciting trilogy. Tempest and Wild were certainly put through the wringer in this beautifully written installment. Filled with intrigue, adrenaline, magical politics, action, twists and turns, a little heat 😉, and oh yea...a few surprises- this book made my heart go pitter pat. The world building was A-MAY-ZING! For fans of the *entire* SUPERNATURAL BATTLE series, we got a further glimpse behind the curtain to things the characters didn't even know... *and* we got a teaser of the demon series to come!!! I for one cannot wait. Here's hoping we haven't seen the last of Tempest and Wild. I could definitely see them popping up in the next series? I loved the tie in with the other series. Tempest is such a great FMC...she's fierce, determined, smart, has a huge heart and will do just about anything for those she cares about (even sometimes to the detriment of herself). Watching her come into her power (and her position) has been great fun. Next up...learning all about the demons 😉. This series has never disappointed me. Two thumbs up from this reader!!

This was a fantastic final book in this trilogy full of paranormal action, romance and highly entertaining. Last Gift was my favorite read out of this trilogy, it had everything I wanted.

Tempest and Wild go through a lot in this and there were times that it felt like nothing would go right. The story moves forward at a fantastic pace and nothing felt dragged out making this unputdownable. I was greatly excited that we got more interactions with the other characters from previous series, truly making this an interconnected story. It was fun to see the different battle strategies and the tension felt throughout the story along with the heartfelt connections between characters.

For fans of witchy magic, lots of humor and great characters this is a great series to read. And that final reveal...cannot wait to dive into the final series of this world.

Kindle Unlimited.

You know that feeling as you creep closer to the end of the book and you think "there's no way that this will wrap up in time." That's how I felt the ENTIRE time I read this book.

The author did a great job of painting a picture that encompassed all of her worlds without making you feel annoyed that you don't know back stories, and that is an underrated skill.

Tempest is an interesting mix of zen and bloodthirsty. I truly appreciated her story.

Kelly St. Clare has done it again! I could gush about this book all day long. It’s such a fantastic finale to the series. The character development is on point, as is the romance and the found family relationships. I adore the links to the other Supernatural Battle series’ and cannot wait for the upcoming Demon series. What I love most about these books are how easy they are to read and how quickly I get lost within the story. The lead female Tempest is formidable yet lovable. The challenges along the way are intense and eye popping. And I just love the funny moments and witty comments that bring light to the darker moments. I wish I could exist in the world. I’ll be re-reading these books for years to come.

😈😈😈😈😈 5/5
This book is the incredible conclusion to the Coven Cave series. The romance in this book is really awesome. I love how high the tension is. The main couple really has to fight for their HEA but it is so worth it because they are incredible together. Plus throw in some really steamy scenes and you are fanning your face. Tempest and Wild are awesome. I love how Wild is there for Tempest. He may be wild in many ways (pun intended) but always has a great heart. Tempest is so strong. I love how she fights for what she wants and only gets it after she earns it. The world building is also amazing. There is so much to expand in this book and I love all the little easter eggs to other book series in this world. I highly recommend this book Go check it out.

🌶️🌶️ with a badass heroine and twists

I couldn’t put this book down. The first page was immediate 🌶️🌶️ which got my attention and got me hooked to keep going. The continued evolution of Tempest and Wild’s relationship was 🤌🏻 + 🌶️🌶️. It kept me guessing especially when I thought I knew how the storyline was going to go. It pleasantly surprised me that it was different. This spoke to Kelly’s ability to build the Supernatural Battle world and intertwine the storyline and characters. I’m really looking forward to the next segment and seeing how much of a badass Tempest continues to be. Overall, if you like 🌶️, a heroine that comes into her powers and a storyline that bridges plots, then read this book! HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

Spice level: 🔥🔥🔥

Overall, a great series ! To be honest though, this one is a bit disappointing when compared to the other two.
- I don’t get the point of Caves and can’t really understand how the game was played
- I still can’t figure out what chaos is
- Wild’s character took a turn in the third book…I feel like he was put in the back and stayed there
- Too many strategies, not enough action

The good?
- The writing is the most addictive thing I have experienced (to me, cause I love Kelly’s writing)
- The characters are very dear to my heart ! Love the quad, especially in the first 2 books
- The concept of these books is very original

Go read these books ❤️📚

4 1/2 Last Gift Stars

Another captivating read from Ms St Clare. As per the other books in this series - they were almost perfect. There were parts that held little substance but the worst part was Wilds character. He had so much potential as the H but ended up being a 1 trick pony. He barely conversed and was relegated to being not more than a sexy cheerleader for Tempest.

As I said for the last books -the story still held me captive until the end.

My favourite of the whole 3 part connected series was Kyros and Bascillas story. The 3 pairs of mates connected by fate and teamed up in this particular book.

The story has been left open at the end.. It will be interesting if there is more to come. With Syera maybe?

A great finale to the trilogy (or maybe there will be a fourth book? But I have a feeling what’s next is another trilogy with a different MC). Every time I think the MC is going to wind up helpless, she just leads harder and kicks more magic butt, I love that. I really missed the humor of the first two books, this book was all seriousness. But the plot, the magic, the turns and twists, and the way everything came together was great.

It was fun to see characters from Vampire Towers tie into this one, I didn’t realize these 3 trilogies were a series but now I see they are all named “Supernatural Battles”. So this series has spoilers for Vampire Towers and Werewolf Dens. I will be reading Werewolf Dens next but out of order, alas.

I loved this series! The pacing of the story felt good to me, although I’ve seen others claim they felt it was slow. It seemed to not dwell on the things that didn’t need a ton of attention for the plot and it slowed down and simmered in the tense and heavy moments. I haven’t laughed out loud through a series in a long while as I did through this one. I loved how not all characters were as they seemed and the diversity of personalities and how they interacted with each other. I did not realize there were correlated series before this one, so I’m looking forward to reading those to get more complete background stories of some of the players in series. Also I did NOT see that twist coming at the end of this book! Very much looking forward to see this story through to the very end.
