Allen Keeg was just another regular, heart-broken guy -- just another face in the crowd. But after he's unknowingly given the supernatural ability to be completely irresistible to women, Allen's life is about to be changed forever! From the writer of the Wonderland trilogy, Fly, and The Waking, this trade paperback collects all four issues of the hit Irresistible mini-series.

Classic dark morality tale that kinda missed the mark for me.
A mopey average Joe, still pining away almost 2 years after his girlfriend left him, stops to help a woman being attacked by 3 men and gets blessed/cursed with his heart's desire as a result. He's Simply Irresistible.
Thanks for the earworm, Anne. You're welcome, Random Goodreader!
WARNING: SPOILERS AHEAD! Sorry. But I left you with this totally gratuitous soft porn shot to soften the blow.
Ok, so this guy thinks that his ex is the love of his life, and even though she's totally moved on, he keeps driving by her place and calling - begging her to give him one more chance. Thing is, even though you feel somewhat sorry for him in the beginning, anyone who's had to deal with someone like this knows where the hell it's headed. Because real love is not one-sided.
Of course, at first, he thinks he's gotten lucky when women start giving him BJ's in the bathroom, but he can't stop obsessing over his ex long enough to truly enjoy it. <--the billionth clue that something ain't right with this dude. When he finally tracks down the woman who granted his wish, though? Well, that's when things started to really go off the rails for me plotwise. It turns out that she's Delilah. Yes, from the Samson and Delilah story in the Bible.
Anyway. It seems that after she gave her lover a haircut, she was cursed by an angel to wander the Earth {dramatic pause} never finding DEATH.
So what's a girl to do with all that time on her hands? Well, learn lots of magic spells, of course! And after seeing a parable play out (The Good Samaritan, to be exact) on the side of the road, she decides to dedicate her life to being a fairy godmother to anyone who stops to help her. Except she sucks at her job.
Basically, the wish (that he didn't know he was wishing) goes haywire and he ends up getting raped a bunch, losing his job, and becoming a hobo because he can't go anywhere without women attacking him and/or each other. And according to Delilah, the only way to break the spell is to kill the one thing he loves most.
So what's a guy who's madly in love with his ex-girlfriend to do when faced with a Me vs Her decision? Oh, I should probably mention that she's the only woman who isn't affected by his curse, so she still thinks he's a douchebag and is happily snuggling with her new (and seemingly quite normal) boyfriend. Well, he does exactly what you'd expect and stabs that chick right in the tit. At which point comes the big reveal that he never really loved her. Because of course NOT. You don't annoy and/or terrorize people that you love. You don't make nuisance phone calls, stand outside their window, or ponder obsessively for years over someone who has ended it with you. It's not romantic, it's creepy. MOVE ON.
The one thing this story nails is the pseudo-depressed assclown personality that a lot of people like this have going for them. They tend to do their emotional vampire routine on anyone who has the misfortune to sit near them on a bench or bar stool, since friends and co-workers are already sick to death of their gloomy, poor me bullshit.
Eh, don't worry, the douchebag gets a fitting ending. So why not rate it higher? Well, all the Biblical references were just weird and jarring in the midst of all the straight to cable rape-fetish stuff. Maybe tossing in an immortal Delilah could have made more sense if this were a longer title, but 4 issues just weren't enough to establish something that wacky in a believable way. But having said that, if you're looking for something a bit twisted and weird, this might just fit the bill.
So what happens when a guy wishes he was irresistible? That every women would fall for him. More than that, that they would basically become sex slaves for him. What if that guy just didn't want that but wanted the "love" of his life back. What happens when the women start coming after him with violent tendicies because they just have to have him? What...okay stop asking what and ask why was this made.
Good: The start is actually pretty interesting and the idea could work...
Bad: ...but it doesn't. The characters are all crappy, especially the main lead. The story gets darker and darker but without any substance to make you care. The art varies from okay to getting really good for tit or ass shots, and then back to bad. Also the ending...dumb.
Overall, a pretty shitty comic. If want to read it to get some boob or ass shots go for it, but can see better on any porn site for cartoon/comic boobs. This is basically a 1 out of 5 if I ever saw it.
Limited series Irresistible #1-4 takes the premise of a man, Allen Keeg, being made irresistible to all women and runs with it. Quite good, but I expected more with such an interesting premise to be honest. 7 out of 12.
So I tried this not sure what to expect. Some stuff made it sound interesting, other stuff made it sound like porn. Now I’ve read it and it’s better than expected.
What’s it about? Allen is sad and lonely after breaking up with his girlfriend a year and a half ago. As he walks out of a strip club he helps a woman who tries to repay him somehow. He tries telling her that she can’t unless she can make him irresistible to women. It happens and he learns to be careful what you wish for.
Pros: The story is interesting. It has lots of twists and gets pretty twisted. It keeps things very interesting and will certainly keep the reader’s attention. Most of the art is good. The characters are interesting. I was surprised by how much this book can make readers feel sorry for Allen’s situation. This book is really intense. This one is surprisingly suspenseful. Quite a few unexpected twists throughout.
Cons: Some parts of the art aren’t so great. On Hoopla it says “various artists” so maybe that’s the problem, I’ve seen comics try mixing multiple artists in one story and it often doesn’t work. This book tries to be funny at times but isn’t. The ending is stupid.
Is it porn or not really? I would say not really. Yes, this comic does contain quite a bit of nudity and involves sexual themes but it makes sense in context of the story. So if you’re someone who is uncomfortable with sex and nudity then avoid this, but if you can get passed that enough to see the story through it, this is a pretty good book.
Overall: Not a masterpiece, it has some issues but for the most part it is an interesting and intense story. This particular be careful what you wish for story is one that is quite twisted and will grab reader’s attention so yeah, if you want a batshit crazy story and don’t mind the level of sexual content in this book, this is a good pick. Recommended.
I'm not even sure what possessed me to pick up this comic. I guess thinking it was from Zenescope, I expected it to have adult content (considering I had read the Grimm's Fairy Tales series). I figured it'd have something of a dark morality play to it. In some manners it did - because it talks about a guy who lost his only love in life and can't let go of her, and who subsequently gets cursed with a measure that every woman who comes across him is irresistibly, irrevocably attracted to him. That means a lot of nudity, and a lot of sex.
At first the hapless hero of this particular story is thrilled at the attraction and attention he gets from women. But it turns subsequently dark from what starts off as jealous rages between the women he engages in sexy times with, to the point where some of them are willing to kill or kill themselves over his neglect of them.
He tries to get help at the police station? The female cop has sex with him. He goes to a strip joint with male friends? Two women trying to give him a lapdance fight over him and he pretty much runs away from the whole thing.
He goes home to rest? Three stereotypical Latina women hold him at knife point and force themselves on him.
I cannot with the glamorized portrayal of sex in this book.
I cannot with the fetish portrayal of rape in this book.
And I certainly cannot with the idea that the only way that the guy can break his sex curse is by killing the woman he once loved.
If it were up to me, this story would get no stars at all. It was a complete waste of time, an utter offense, and I would not recommend it.
Overall score: 0.5/5
Note: I received this as and ARC from NetGalley, from the publisher Zenescope.
This reminded me of an x-rated version of a Buffy episode: The one where Xander is upset about Cordy dumping him so he tries to use a love spell and all the girls want him, except Cordelia. Then the spells gets even more horrible when the girls start wanting blood lol - yea "Irresistible" is like that, but darker and a lot more pervy. I actually enjoyed it though. My one turn off was the biblical twist I guess I would call it - the backstory to the old woman. Anyways, two other previews were included at the end. One called "Fly: The Fall." Not exactly sure what's going on in it, but I'm guessing it has to do with some drug that has serious consequences. It intrigued me enough. The other sneak preview is "The Waking: Dreams End" and it seems right up my ally. People are dying, but coming back everywhere around the world except in one particular county. I don't know more than that, except it had zombie looking people, so I wouldn't mind reading more.
Be warned this comic is actually closer to 100 pages than 140.
A simple story about an irresistible man. Common trope but some interesting interactions. Would have been a more interesting 6 parter with more content.
I thought this was a pretty solid book with a great plot twist and good ending. It's about a guy named Allen Keeg who is currently heartbroken from his girlfriend dumping him almost 2 years ago. His friends take him out for a Guy's Night at a local strip club to get him out of his funk, but Allen leaves due to his not really enjoying the atmosphere. When he leaves, Allen see's a mugging occurring and jumps in to defend the old woman being mugged, ending up getting pretty beat up himself. After coming to, Allen returns the woman's purse and makes sure she's okay. As repayment for his kindness, the old woman asks Allen if there's anything she can do to repay his kindness. Allen tells her unless she can make every woman that crosses his path want him there really isn't anything she can do for repayment. But Allen ends up getting his wish and much more than what he expected as the story continues.
I feel Raven Gregory wrote a solid story that was complimented well with the artwork completed with several artists. I also like how the idea of men "wanting women to lust after them all the time" is shown in a negative light instead of in the porn movie/harem concept you usually see with this plot.
So I recommend this for a good read that can easily be finished in one sitting.
Dirty, offensive and x-rated with an excellent story line and a fairly gruesome ending. Recommended for any fans of Raven Gregory and readers who enjoy dark stories and don't mind sexual content. Not recommended for anyone who is easily offended or not familiar with Zenescope's work.
Having sex with any strange woman you want sounds like a fantasy dream. How about more than one woman at a time? What if it was true? Would be you happy? Not if you are still holding a candle for a woman who dumped your ass like two years before.
This is the problem with the main character Allen. He is a sad sack who is still pining for his previous relationship. However, she has moved on and has a new boyfriend. Allan should move on, but his heart will not let him.
Then the women having sex with him gets obsessive and violent. They are under a magical spell not of their own doings. They are pawns both physically and emotionally. One of his sexual encounters is so obsessive that she tries killing herself when he rejects her. Is Allan upset? Sorta, but he is more concerned for himself than what he has put this person and other woman through.
I like the general idea of the story. The mixture of theology and mythology is an interesting and unexpected touch that seems tacked on; it does flow well with the rest of the story. Overall the presentation feels hollow. Allan is a giant pitiful douchebag. It is very hard to feel sorry for him. I get that he wants his old girlfriend back, *SPOLIER ALERT* but then he kills her. He whines the entire book about how much he loves her, but then to rid himself of the curse he ends her life. Surprise, he did not love her after all (duh). This is so obvious from the get go.
The woman are also cookie cutter stereotypes. More variety of different types of woman and sexual fantasies would have added a lot to the story. Also, I know it is cliché, but having Allan actually finds his true love to break the curse would have been a better ending.
UGH. One of those Be-careful-what-you-wish-for over-the-top, too-much-of-a-good-thing cautionary tales. Oh no, an undeserving dweeb wants a woman, and ends up having TOO MUCH SEX! Oh no, what ever shall he do?!
What seems like a thinly-veiled excuse for a softcore hypersexualized depiction of a typical straight male fantasy ends up coming off as a way for horny teens to get their rocks off. This barely rises to the level of bathroom reading material; shoddy artwork that barely rises to the level of a webcomic, TERRIBLE premise, plot, and execution, and silly twist ending. Sort of reminds me of German author Patrick Süskind's wonderful novel Perfume: The Story of a Murderer, except, terribly done. (The comparison is so great I almost regret even mentioning Perfume in this review...)
I am blowing through the digital comic selection from my local library's Hoopla account, and this was one of many, many interesting-looking and sounding titles, but even if the pickings were slim, I simply cannot recommend this title.
The only reason I rated this two stars is because the art was good and all the words made sense. That makes it a smidgen better than scribbles with an incoherent plot.
The story is coherent, but repulsive. A guy gets dumped, but a year and a half later, he's still obsessed with the woman who left him. I should've stopped reading when he described a year and a half without sex as the Worst Thing Ever, but I was hoping he'd learn something over the course of the story.
He doesn't. Save yourself the time and effort. Just stay away. Even the letter column is whiny, entitled, MRA/PUA crap.
At least I didn't pay for it. It was free through comiXology Unlimited.
What if you suddenly had the power to be irresistible?
Poor Allen was down in the dumps because his girlfriend left him. Then, one night, a gypsy woman grants him his wish to be a ladies’ man. Suddenly, he could have sex whenever and with whomever he wanted. Some of the text was a little blurry and some pictures had a static watercolor feel that wasn’t too pleasing. I also didn’t like the bloody scene when a girl goes crazy with a knife. Ewe!
Seemed that Allen still held a candle for his ex-girlfriend. The whole thing was very chaotic and confusing. It ultimately boiled down to that cliché, “Be Careful What You Wish For.”
This book felt a bit like exploitation with the main character who has some trouble with women to becoming something of cat-nip to them... these are #metoo times so things will look different suddenly to most. The comic about 4 issues (Comixology) if you get the Graphic Novel, is just a lite story with a bit of T&A, it depends on your level of boredom but getting too unhappy like old Anne up there is kinda dumb. Just chill out chicks! It’s just entertainment.
Is there a rating lower than 1 star? Probably the worst graphic novel I've ever read; wildly misogynistic, deeply ugly, and written with a sub-junior high understanding of basic human behavior. Disgusting on every level.
If you thought Stephen King's "Thinner" had too many big words and not enough misogyny, this is probably for you. The halfway decent artwork is the only reason to even glance in this title's direction.
I thought this story was very good , you can want a lot of things in life and when you get what you want there is always a catch very true in all aspects of life.
It's a Zenescope comic, so pretty much what you'd expect as far as art goes. Good story, nice twist at the end. "Be careful what you wish for" indeed...
I was surprised how explicit this graphic novel was. And also, oddly enough, Biblical. There was an odd use of religion and sex. This story brings up many interesting questions that really get you thinking. Questions of morals and wants/desires. This was a dark, dark comedy. I think.
I could see this being a really good dark comedy film by Diablo Cody. It reminded me of the 2000 film What Women Want, but a lot darker.
I must add that you should not read this graphic novel on your computer at work. There is nudity.
Although a lot darker that I thought it would be, I give this graphic novel a 3.5/5. If you are okay with nudity and like stories that bring up moral questions, this is a graphic novel for you.
Un chico abandonado por su pareja que se siente solo y olvidado por parte de todas las mujeres interviene a favor de una mujer en medio de una reyerta. Cuál sería tu deseo a cambio?
