What I learnt from this book is that Wong Kar Wai's approach to cinema is guerrilla filming - sneaking in metro stations without tickets, taking sneak shots of establishments, filming in a beauty salon when its owner isn't looking, over her express ban. Sounds exciting. I especially appreciated the passages about the music because Chungking Express and Fallen Angels have the best soundtracks.

one of my favourite - if not my no 1 favourite cinematographers!!!! this book is out of print, so i ordered it through my uni's booking system. it is such a beautiful book and i love how visual it is – prose is not enough to accurately convey a visual artist's process.
super cool to read about wong kar wai's approach to filmmaking, too. YEY i am so happy to have read this!
