Vampires! A Bundle of Bloodsuckers

Rate this book
A bundled compilation of Lynda Hilburn's already available vampire stories.

Until Death Do Us Part
A 5,000-word mini humorous Kismet Knight story. Denver Psychologist Kismet Knight counsels vampires. Meeting with this couple reminds her that vampires aren't merely humans with fangs, and some bloodsuckers are harder to counsel than others.

Devereux: The Night Before Kismet
Master vampire Devereux has it all: immortality, good looks, intelligence, money, a body to die for, and a constant stream of available women. Sounds like an ideal existence. So, what’s the problem? He’s listless. Bored. Unhappy. After 800 years, coming up with reasons to rise for another meaningless night can be a challenge, and he’s starting to question his choices. Worried, two of Devereux’s old friends concoct a creative plan to energize and encourage him to rejoin the land of the unliving. They don’t want their friend to seek true death, so they’re willing to do whatever is necessary. What could go wrong?

Diary of a Narcissistic Bloodsucker
Zara is a very naughty vampire. She lusts for both sex and blood, but unfortunately something has gone awry and her normal habits now create new problems to solve. In the midst of sorting things out, she meets an intriguing human named Niven -- a musician who lives in the magical kingdom of contemporary Boulder, CO -- and discovers that he is much more than he appears to be. Then, if things weren't interesting enough, Zara encounters her old mentor/lover -- the vampire who originally turned her -- and things get downright supernatural.

Undead in the City
Blood, Sex and Rock 'n' Roll in the Motor City. Musician Tempest Moon is a take-no-shit lead guitar player on the mean streets of Detroit. She's had a rough journey, and doesn't expect things to get any better. Tired of his immortal life, Malveaux is an undead assassin used to calling the shots and getting what he wants. No matter what the cost. When they meet, the blood hits the fan. Together they’d take on the human underworld and the undeadShow More

Her series, Kismet Knight, Vampire Psychologist is being rewritten and will be republished by Quercus Books in the UK and Europe, and by Sterling Publishing/Silver Oak in North America. The UK version of the first book in the series, "The Vampire Shrink" will be published September, 2011. The North American version a few months later. Book #2 (tentatively titled "Blood Therapy"), which is a new book, will be published a year later, and book #3 (the book that used to be called "Dark Harvest") will follow a year later. Awesome short stories will occupy you for hours

I usually don't like the more violent vampire stories because it ruins my idea of the perfect vampire lover. With that being said, the characters were authentic and interesting. That doesn't mean I don't like surprises. You will not be able to figure out these storylines. I enjoyed them very much and fully recommend this compilation of short stories for a rainy Sunday afternoon.

Diary of a Narcissistic Bloodsucker
Zara became a vampire against her will at the age of 26, when she fell for Jeran a master vampire. Turns out knowledge acquired over the centuries just made her more creative in ways to hurt her lover. After she left him and he meets the light she feels insulted that he took the easy way out.
The more surprised she is when she meets Niven St Clair a musician who is terribly attractive and also immune to her gaze hypnosis. But as things get hot and sweaty suddenly Jeran is back in the picture.
Zara is so full of herself that it is hard to take at first, but after a couple of pages it starts to get really funny, because she is delusional enough to believe that the universe centres around her. And anybody who dares to cross her path should prepare to get his butt kicked. A 27 pages sarcasticly witty story about love and hurt feelings with a twist at the end that made me laugh out loud.

Undead in the City
Malveaux a 200-year-old vampire with an extreme urge for sex can think of only one way to meet his daily needs. He has to create an offspring who will serve as his sex slave, just as he was his master’s. At a bar he meets Tempest Moon, a tough musician who knows what she wants: music and a gorgeous stud readily available.
She seems to be the perfect match, but things go down South when she finds out about his plans for her. And then there’s not only the local mobster, but also an old vampire enemy who are trying to kill Malveaux for good.
Malveaux and Tempest fog your screen with their steamy encounters and the story takes so many twists and turns that you dig through 126 pages thrill ride at vampire speed.

Until Death Do Us Part
This 15 pages short story is set in the Kismet Night universe, just after the events of the first book The Vampire Shrink.
Kismet has agreed to a counselling session with Yvonne and Falcon, two old and powerful vampires that have trust issues in their relationship. With vampires the temper always runs a little hotter and soon Kismet finds herself in the middle of a violent fight.
It’s easy to picture the setting and the characters and you are right in the middle of the action. The writing is humorous, the perfect piece to drag you over the waiting time for the next book.

Devereux: The Night Before Kismet
This is the 34 pages story of Devereux the night before he meets Kismet Knight. He is wary of his life and is secretly thinking about ending his existence. His friends are worried about him and set him up with 3 sexy dates that all take place the same night. We meet a woman from Devereux's past, his present and his future, get some insight into his character, the life he is leading and how he became the way he is.
The story is well written and interesting and the last couple of pages had me totally hooked. Be prepared to grab your copy of The Vampire Shrink right afterwards.

I have adored the Kismet and Devereux books since I stumbled onto the first one years ago and I am glad that I got this collection of short stories that includes some tid bits with the two. This was a nice interlude before book 3!

It was okay, but I was very disappointed that after the second story that it wasn't about Devereaux and Kismet meeting but off on some other story. I was interested in their story but it wasn't here.
