Rate this book
Beautiful small-town interior decorator Danielle Austen-Pyne had finally rid herself of her charismatic two-timing husband Bradley Pyne. While she has sworn off men, Danielle secretly retains her romantic ideals about love and marriage.

HARRISON TOWERS, an enigmatic mega mogul, however, has turned his own romantic loss into a coldly cynical attitude about relationships and women. This sexual master has vowed to keep his relationships strictly physical with no strings attached.

This powerful business tycoon is about to break all of Danielle Austen’s rules and his own, as they embark on an intensely erotic and passionate, no-strings attached relationship.

As Danielle gets closer to Harrison Towers, she quickly learns being in Harrison’s world is not all glamour when power, lust, money, greed and danger present themselves at every angle and threatens to tear them apart.

This book is intended for mature audiences.

★★★★★! Champagne Showers, book 1 (Glass Towers Trilogy). Debut by Adler/Holt! Small-town girl meets larger-than-life, enigmatic & possessive French-Canadian mogul & is soon threatened by villains, stalkers & more!

The Glass Tower trilogy is the story of small-town interior designer Danielle and international business mogul Harrison Towers. Their story is flecked with suspense, secrets, mysteries, surprises, scandals, deceit and above all danger. There are several villains set on breaking them apart, stalkers with missions so sinister it will span all three books. What starts off as of-the-charts sex will soon turn into a romance against all odds. I was swept away by their story in what can only be described as euphoric angst!

Series is complete and consists of:
1) Champagne Showers
2) Shattered
3) Surrendered

CHAMPAGNE SHOWERS (BOOK 1) - MIGHT CONTAIN SOME MINOR SPOILERS

Hero: Harrison Towers/French-Canadian/42 years old/business mogul/$$$$/sandy blond hair/crystal blue eyes
Heroine: Danielle Austen (formerly Pyne)/American/28 years old/owner of interior design firm/recently divorced/dark brown hair/blue eyes (later described as green?)

Harrison Towers possesses just about every good quality I crave in hero. At first glance he has sinfully good looks and a knowing sexy smirk. He is a French-Canadian business mogul from old money who came to the US to make his own fortune. He is successful, rich, in control, even ruthless. He is charismatic and a sexy, seductive and inventive lover who aims to please. My favorite quality of his was that he is mature, add to that very possessive. But he is also non-committal, secretive, enigmatic and evasive.
“Baby, you have no idea the things I want to do with you," he whispers seductively and darkly into my ear.”

The book opens up with Danielle Austen finalizing her divorce after discovering that her ex-husband, Bradley has had numerous affairs including a pregnant mistress. She is young, overwhelmed and scared. Skip forward one year and Danielle has taken charge of her life opening up her own interior design firm and is just finalizing a huge project. With many endearing qualities she also possesses several annoying traits. This doesn't bother me too much for two reasons. For one, the more amazing the hero the more difficult it is going to be for the heroine to measure up and secondly Danielle kept the mystery going by being stubborn and sometimes even stupid -- withholding or forgetting to share vital information and events. In short she is a big part of what kept the story going.

Harrison and Danielle officially meet when she is putting the finishing touches on her current decorating project. As it turns out it's Harrison's real estate development. He asks her to meet with him regarding a decorating project for another one of his developments, three skyscrapers called the Three Rivers Project, better known as the Glass Towers (The Columbia, Rogue and Willamette).

After their meeting Danielle works on her design proposal and presentation only to get sick with food poisoning. Due to Harrison's hectic schedule he asks her to make her presentation in New York later that same week. She is in business mood, but realizes quickly that Harrison has seduction in mind. They are staying at his condo and end up having a wild night of sex where she discovers much of what of sex with Harrison aka Mr. Sex God entails:
“Holy shit! I think this man has an insatiable oral fixation and I am the grateful recipient!”

Though she is trying very hard to keep things in prospective (after all Harrison is on the list of top ten most eligible bachelors) it quickly becomes a losing battle for Danielle. Harrison needs a new play-thing while Danielle finds herself falling deep and fast. When she tries to probe into their relationship she gets a set-down. As I mentioned Harrison is every bit the jaded, sought-after heartthrob:
“He smirks at me, "What is going on in that sexy head of yours? You have become awfully quiet, which is unusual for you. Come on, is that all you have?" I do believe he is mocking me, the nerve of him. He's using me for sex and he sits there and toys with me knowing full well why I would be asking that question...

“...You will have to either accept what I am offering, or you must realize what the alternative is.”

Ouch! But she really shouldn’t have asked at that stage.

That said Harrison is also a possessive, entitled alpha:
“Besides, what gives me the entitlement," he says in a low authoritative voice," is when you said yes to going to New York with me, you, in effect said yes to me. I am a part of you now. As such, I am entitled to you.”

Priceless!

Their associates-with-benefits relationship soon becomes even more complicated. Let me rephrase that: Danielle's life soon spins completely out-of-control when they are faced with villains set on breaking them apart, stalkers with sinister motives and as if that is not enough the enigmatic Harrison is evasive and full of secrets. The plot thickens and comes to a screeching, “shattering” halt with a chocking cliff hanger that will blow your mind. But no worries book 2 and 3 are waiting!

And here are some quotes to give you a glimpse into Harrison and Danielle:
“...Look at me", he says with an intense and dark tone. "I want you to look at me as you cum" he orders.”

“By Monday morning, two main things are accomplished. One, Harrison's penthouse is now officially broken in, and two, I think I may be walking bowlegged permanently now.”

“I can think of nothing but the insatiable hunger in me to ride his c~ck. Cars fly by and there's no knowing if someone is around to catch us.”

My only gripes are:
The frequent use of the word “cum” only to by book 2 to be overtaken by the repetitive use of “p” (Danielle’s abbreviation for “pussy”).
I am a detailed-oriented person so this did not bother me, but I can see how some reader may find book 1 overly detailed. Since there is a mystery some of the details will contain clues, but others I contribute to this being a debut. Book 2 and 3 are more edited down. That said I have not deducted any points off my overall rating.

Champagne Showers is an excellent debut by Adler / Holt. I highly recommend! The suspense and intrigue will keep you glued to your book, but Harrison will make you come back for more!

Honestly, it took two people to write this book? What were they doing, taking turns falling asleep on the keyboard?

OK, now I'm pushing borderline rude. I get it. But wait till I have the time to write a detailed review, and wannabe readers, you will have umpteen reasons NOT to touch this book.

Bahh. What a waste of time.

PS: To the authors: A 40 year old 'mega-mogul' does NOT use 'Lol' in his text messages. Just saying.

PS2: I challenge you to find me a SINGLE full grown woman on this planet who refers to her vagina as "P". JUST ONE. I bet even the authors don't do that.

I really,

really

loved this book. This book had all the ingredients for a seriously sexy, intriguing, and captivating read while still feeling like it's original and it's own worthwhile story.
Harrison;

HOT, confident, wealthy, french-accented, stylish, slightly dominating, (not over the top)a little mysterious, and wants Danielle with an intense passion that you FEEL right along with them!

Danielle:

Beautiful Interior designer just coming away from a nasty divorce who is intelligent, independent, and just getting back her mojo after her marriage left her sexually stagnant for years.

When they meet Danielle is hired to decorate several of Harrison's properties and they feel an instant intense attraction but are both initially wary and keep things professional. Danielle has been burned badly by her philandering ex-husband and has serious trust issues. She's just getting her life back in order after a year of healing and building up her own business. Harrison has become a little cold and remote from building any type of intimate connection with a woman after his fiance passed away and he has no plans for anything permanent in his life. But it doesn't take long before they both give in to their smoldering, passionate attraction to each other and boy do they have some SMEXY times.

My only problem with this book (and it's a big one) is the author's need to have Danielle mentally refer to her vagina REPEATEDLY as her "P". Yes, that's right, she names it a capital p. It was so un-sexy for me I can't even fully describe how much. Every passionate scene between them I had to skim over this multiple times and mentally replace this LETTER with the word PUSSY. Yes, I said it.
When I didn't, I found myself giving an eye-roll and a disgusted scoff because it's so damn juvenile. Even Harrison comments on it….I'm not alone here people!!

Danielle, I have an odd question for you. When we were having sex last night, you said something about your "P" cumming on my cock. Is your "P" referring to your pussy?" He chuckles softly. He looks at me with eyebrows raised and the smirk is now filled with mirth.

He finds this quirk of hers cute…I do not. As annoying as this was, it was not enough to ruin the rest of the book for me.

His hands slide over my shoulders, massaging my bare skin as my head rolls from side to side in complete and utter pleasure. He starts to kiss the upper part of my back and down my shoulders. He then lifts my hair off my back and begins to kiss my neck with soft lips. He moves to my left ear, and it sends the most intense electric shock through my body… I can’t take it anymore, the pleasure is over the top. I turn around and our eyes lock with intense passion, and my god he is gorgeous. He is wearing nothing but a pair of loose fitting cotton pajama pants resting low on his hips and his chest is chiseled and perfectly sculpted. My flushed and warm body rest against the cool railing. “Harrison, I...” “Shhh, don’t say anything, Danielle.” He cups both hands around my face and under my jaw as he brings his lips to mine. His lips are firm and in control.

Danielle soon finds out though that Harrison's world is more than lush penthouses and first class dining and travel luxuries. It is also filled with deception, greed, danger, and she doesn't know who she can trust. Someone starts to stalk and terrorize her and it seems it's all because of her involvement with Harrison. There are secrets, lies, and more under the surface than could ever be imagined.
This book was fast paced, and it completely hooked me into the story. Harrison….?

**** MY ONE PET PEEVE HAS NOW BEEN EDITED OUT OF THE BOOKS...SO THEY ARE NOW PERFECTION! ;)

I'm torn on the rating. I liked it but didnt love it.

Here are my cons:
Like I've said in previous rants, I found the reference to Danielle's pussy as "P", VERY annoying. At it was overly used. She could use the word "cock" or "clit" so whats wrong with "pussy"?
Next, and I hope I never have to say this again, there was too much sex. I know, I know, that statement just shocked the hell out of me too. I love smut & kink, as much as the next but Jesus H Christ there was a LOT and very repetitive. Maybe the venue changed but the sex was still all the same. I can appreciate a man with good oral skills but tone that shit down, you don't need to do it three or four times EACH sex-episode! If you want to write sex (lots of it) then change it up, get kinkier as it goes or something.
And finally my next issue was word choice during dialogue and sex scenes. Adjectives are very important in a story but choosing the right words is crucial. So again, the "P" thing was annoying, she also referred to her "P" as 'paradise' and a 'pleasure cave'. Sorry that really turned me off...actually made me laugh (and during sex, that's not flattering). Then the word "ample" for a penis? I don't think so! Or when she said he licked the goop off her clit when she was referring to chocolate syrup, UGH! Or 'blew his load'...this isnt porn and it's not narrated by a guy...so you can simply make it more sensual while still being erotic. Then also, there didnt seem to be much dialogue from Harrison. This is what I know of him: he's rich, successful, slightly romantic, very horny, gorgeous, but secretive. I liked him but didn't feel a connection with him, I needed more.

Now some positives:
The story line is interesting. Interior designer meets mogul, gets hired, and they end of fucking...a LOT. Meanwhile, she's trying to move on from a painful divorce where her husband was a cheating bastard, but now hes showing an interest in her again. Harrison becomes jealous and doesnt want to 'share what's his'. Then she has a stalker and no one knows who it is or what they want. The photos, phone calls, and letters...I'm dying to know who it is.
And even though this was a con, the sex is still hot...even if repetitive.
I was sad at the end, leaves you on a cliffhanger (which I fucking hate) but luckily the second book is out and I can read it now. The even better news, I got each book for free (Thanks Amazon)! I'm not sure when the third one is due out, but I'm sure I'll be anxious. It's like a train wreck, I have to watch...or read.

Only 4 stars I took away a half star..I'll explain later! Where do I begin..first I'll say this book is filled with so much Freak Nasty (aka SEX),
In so many locations that I actually lost count..and Mr.Towers..mmmmh, this man loves oral so much it should be his middle name!! The man has some serious skills..Im giddy just thinking about it!
 photo 832_zps733b5668.gif

Now why I took away the half star..When you refer to your V-Jay Jay as just my "P" and your V-Jay Jay area as your "Loins" was all kinds of wrong, I wanted to go buy the paperback and pencil in the correct words and re-read the book... thats how much it bothered me!!!

Other than that I really enjoyed this book, and cant wait to start the 2nd one..

grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr...... I hate rewriting reviews!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

2.5 This book was completely frustrating. Danielle was terrible. In the beginning I kinda liked her. I felt bad for her that her husband cheated repeatedly, so yeah she was smart and divorced him. Way to go! But then a year later she meets Harrison and its like a personality transplant. Honestly there were some inconsistencies that irritated me. First she calls her lady parts "P" the letter not the word. Why because the word embarrasses her. But through most of the book she is calling it the word. WTh? Then she is at the bar and is drinking one type of drink only to lick of the remains of a different one. Did she change drinks? Then there is her ex Bradly. What a waste. I felt like shes all I don't want him blah blah blah... then she is sending mixed signals. Oh sure I will have drinks with you. Who do you call when there is a break in? Well your ex duh??? WTH? I found her to be annoying and even childish at times.

Now why oh why was there so many weird words for your male and female parts? I swear it was like she went through a porn dictionary to come up with all the names. There were so many.. Pleasure cave?? Ugh..Frankly its was about 80% sex and it just felt never ending. It was like again? Already? Give it a rest already! Frankly I don't think I can finish this series. It was just frustrating and annoying.

Lots and Lots of hot steamy raunchy sex- almost too much lol.
I totally fell in love with Danielle - she was wronged in her marriage and has to start over. I was actually thinking she was much older when I started reading but turns out she's rather young. As for Harrison what's not to love! He is a bit too tight lipped and I was never really sure where their relationship was going but then again neither did Danielle. The only silly thing in this book was that Danielle didn't like the word Pussy so she would use "P" in stead which was rather ridiculous but it didn't take away from the story. There is mystery, threat and a bit of drama in this book. I would suggest having book 2 ready to go because book one is a cliff hanger! However there is a bit of book 2 at the end of book 1.

Quotes:

"Oh, why do I always mange to sound like a booby in the most inopportune moments?!"

"act like a lady, think like a man."

"Harrison is certainly the lord of my loins."

I seem to be having really shitty luck with books. First it was 10 Nights by Michelle Hughes and Karl Jones ( a truly appalling book), then it was This Man Series by Jodie Melpas and now its this book. I tried to like this book. I really really tried. The beginning was very promising and then everything collapsed like a badly baked cake.

What I liked about this book:

In the beginning the plot seemed interesting, but then it was lost in the smut scenes.

What I did not like about this book:

Almost everything except Stormy and Henry.

The heroine is a 28 year old Interior Designer named Danielle Austen. In the beginning of the book, she's in the process of getting a divorce from her husband of 2 years Bradley because he was cheating on her.
She meets the future Hero Harrison Towers in the beach while she's walking her dog.
A year later she has set up her own Interior Designing company.
She meets the Hero as she's designed one of his properties. Harrison is impressed by her work and asks her to design his other properties "Glass Towers" . She agrees to work for him. On the day of presenting the designs to Harrison, Dani falls sick. They reschedule the meeting. Harrison asks Dani to show the designs in New York, so Dani flies to New York with Harrison. The plot was good till this point.

The smut scenes start after this. I love a good steamy smut scene and more the better. The problem I had was that Dani refused to say the word Pussy. She called it "P". She had absolutely no problem using the words "Fuck" "Cock" "Clit". There are many other words that she can use like Vajayjay, kitty, flower. Anything would have been better insteas of "P".

He slips his index and middle finger into my wet “P”.

I am soaking wet and my “P” is tensing up as my breath quickens.

I release his hold on my lips and move my mouth to his ears, licking, sucking and taunting him. He forcefully grabs his erect cock and slams it into my ready and waiting “P".

“I am going to fuck you over and over, Mr. Towers. Your hard cock inside me."

“Make my “P” cum all over your cock. Make it cum hard.” I don’t recognize my own voice as the words spill out of my mouth."

I found it pretty weird that a grown woman calls her vagina "P".

“Danielle, I have an odd question for you.”

Oh, this has my interest piqued. With my large sunglasses on, I survey his hard body clad in European style light blue swim trunks. I look up into his face that is currently wearing a smirk.

“When we were having sex last night, you said something about your “P” cumming on my cock. Is your “P” referring to your pussy?” He chuckles softly.

Gasp! I would like to just dunk myself in this pool right about now! How fucking embarrassing!

He looks at me with eyebrows raised and the smirk is now filled with mirth.

Gah! “Yes, that does refer to my ‘PUSSY’. I am not a fan of the word so I shortened it to “P”. I know it sounds juvenile, but I have thought of it that way for years and actually have no intention of changing it now.” I am mortified and feeling a little defensive now.

The rest of the book is filled with smut scenes which I felt were hilarious. I hate the fact that The author excessively used the word Loins.

My loins begin their dance of throbbing and aching for his body to fill mine.

He moves his hand up my loose shirt and firmly squeezes my nipple through the bra cup. I start to move a little faster as he sends more smoke signals to my loins.

Gasp, I can feel my loins stirring with the memory of his mouth exploring my entire body with special attention to my “P”.

Oh lord, I feel another wave of tightness building in my loins and my “P” is ready for him.

I feel my loins tighten and my breath hitch at the back of my throat.

Problem is, every time I hear his voice I get butterflies in my stomach and my loins get moist.

“Breathe, Danielle.”  When he uses that tone of voice, I can’t do anything but hold my breath. My loins betray me again and I feel moistness down there.

Harrison enters the room and surveys the scene and when his searching eyes lock on mine, shivers move up my spine followed by waves of hot churning heat through my loins.

So you get the picture. No matter what Harrison does, Dani's loins heat up. All they do is have sex and they really don't have a proper conversation.
Bradley keeps showing up. Dani's so called best friend Simone Clark is MIA most of the time. Henry is Simone's dog.

The female villain in this book is Marion Deveraeux who she meets during the Gala .

.

Due to the excessive use of Loins and "P", the smut scenes were a total turn off. I skimmed through most of it. The cliffhanger caught me unawares. I hated that the Harrison and Dani had very little conversation.
The book gets a 1.5 stars from me. The story is not appalling, it's just a bit boring.

So this series was a pretty big let down for a variety of reasons, from character development to editing it needs a complete overhaul! I write this having read all three books (after the apparent rewrite of the infamous "P" word) and find they all lacked the same qualities that I find necessary in a GOOD book. I felt this was amateur hour. For example:

1. Neither character is all that inspiring. You want to feel something for them, you can almost start to, but they both seem so shallow and one dimensional. Hero and heroine can have flaws and still be loved...think Christian Grey...these two read like 18 year old dunces.

1a. Harrison is supposed to be a mega wealthy mogul, but his security team isn't vetted and his lead guy "Albert" spends most of his presence watching reality tv and listening to sports on his ear buds? That character alone could have added a deeper level of drama and suspense. I appreciate the writers trying to bring out a more tender part of Harrison by book two, but it was too little too late...kisses on foreheads and "I love yous" mouthed across a room (repeatedly) do not a romantic make! Also, what was with the whole, "that's business" nonsense. If the writers had allowed Harrison to open up about his work stresses and challenges, we (and Dani) would have more incite into his life and him. We would care for him more! And why have him doubt the level of threat Marion posed throughout most of the three books? Really!!!? It seemed so obvious but the characters were written to be obtuse.

1b. Danielle...ugh this character!!! What a simpering, annoying cry baby that married towers and started sounding like a simpering annoying SNOBBY cry baby! She actually used the words "little chit" in describing a "housekeeper" who had eyes for her hubby. She came off so whiny. Yes she was in a terrible position, but all the crying, sobbing, whining and just plain stupidity were so unnecessary!!! Do something smart about it all for heavens sake!!! Stop throwing yourself on your bed and "sobbing your eyes out!" For instance, she's already been attacked while running, but she decided to go for another run the day after she returns married...fully aware that the stalker is out for blood. But does she choose a treadmill? Nope! She chooses a secluded part of the park on an isolated trail away from other runners and tells her security guard to stay in the car...oh ok says the dumb reality tv addict "security guard!" Really??? How dumb do you have to be??? Also if she ignored the unknown caller calls and referred to them as telemarketers one more time I was going to scream!! At Some point, not only are the writers insulting the intelligence of their characters, but they've started to treat the readers as imbeciles too!

2. The sex scenes. Ugh!! In book one I felt like there was a couple lines of dialogue, then several (5-6) pages of raunchy sex then a couple lines of dialogue and repeat! And it just kept going like that. The day to day relationship building moments took a major back seat and would be summarized in a couple lines the next day before another romp in a new "location" was dissected in the most graphic of details. Now I like erotica but this garbage read like a porno script. It would have been nice to read them converse and get to know one another and by converse I don't mean sitting at a restaurant, Harrison cutting Danielle off when she asks about his work, saying "that's business" (is that supposed to be hot??) and proceeding to "talk" about how much they want to do each other instead of being at dinner!! Yes those tidbits and moments can be hot and steamy, but not when that's how it is every single time they go anywhere!!! We get it!!! You're both horny! By books 2 & 3, there was a little more character development, excursions and adventures, but not much more in a meaningful way. They did fade away from a few sex scenes thankfully, so we got a break there but I still started to skim through most of the remaining sex scenes. There was absolutely NO, I mean ZERO!!!! Making love in any of these books. Not even after being injured and recovering for 6 weeks did we get a making love scene. Nope. Just pure raunch and "fucking" and "ramming" and "riding" and a plethora of other action verbs that left absolutely nothing to the imagination!!

3. Now not to be annoying, but the number of typos and grammar mistakes in these books was ridiculous. I just have to mention it! Really?!?! Get a better editor. And did it really take a "writing team" to come up with this story? Seriously? Cut half the sex scenes. Switch a few to making love scenes. Spend some time writing dialogue and back story for your main characters...then actually DEVELOP them and you got yourself a 350 page stand alone SINGLE book! Not a "trilogy!"

I could go on, but I think you get my point here. A lot wrong and not a heck of a lot right with these books.

ROMANTIC THRILLER

Danielle Austen is a 27 year old interior designer, recently divorced from Bradley, who was a serial cheater. Danielle is determined to get her life back on track. She decides to start her own interior design business. When Harrison Towers multimillionaire business man hires her to decorate and furnish his penthouse she's thrilled. Harrison Towers is drop dead gorgeous, but Danielle must keep her mind on her work. Harrison though has other ideas. He and Danielle embark on a hot and sexy affair.
Then suddenly strange things start happening, someone is out to make Danielle's life miserable. Events keep happening that are designed to frighten and intimidate her.

Harrison and Danielle still manage to keep their relationship on an even keel despite everything that's going on. Harrison is very protective of Danielle and insists she's stay in his penthouse for her safety. Strangely Bradley her ex-husband has suddenly started contacting Danielle. She finds this odd as he never paid her much attention while they were married. Harrison is furious at this and forbids her to have any contact with Bradley. But then Harrison delivers the final blow to Danielle totally devastating her. All this just as she realised she was in love with him.

I really liked the story, as its not just about the sex scenes. There's plenty going on elsewhere in the story as well.
The book is well written and yes the sex scenes are hot and plentiful. But the tension from the danger to Danielle is well done. There are a full supporting cast of other characters who help to flesh out the story. I am definitely going to read book two.

OMG, if she refers to her female anatomy as "P" one more time I'm going to gouge my eyes out. This is erotica, people, get comfortable with grown up words, not childish euphemisms! And I can't believe I'm saying this, but there was too much sex. Repetitive sex. And then more of the "P" word.

The last 2 chapters were more interesting than the rest of the book, so now I have to read the next book to find out what happpens.

I do like my book boyfriends mysterious, but Harrison is a little too sly for my liking. He wants total obedience and expects to give little in return, beyond his semen, of course. Dani waffles from being a strong business woman to a total doormat, seemingly for good sex. But it feels like she is giving up way too much in this relationship for what she's getting.

The (lack of) ending makes me very curious to see how this plays out. Fortunately, I think the next books comes out in 2 days.

Champagne Showers is the first installment in the Glass Towers Trilogy and has me conflicted as to how to rate my experience with this book. This is the story of Danielle Austen (formerly Dani Pyne) and the mega real estate mogul, Harrison Towers. Upon first starting Champagne Showers, I was laughing out loud with Danielle's back story of her marriage to and divorce from Bradley and his roving eye. My first thought was that this was going to be an exceptionally fun story. I haven't laughed that hard in a while. Then something changed as the story jumped to one year later in Danielle's life, and I was shaking my head wondering where did the humor go? Suddenly I found myself engulfed in such a steamy and erotic read, I had to retrieve the lawn chair from storage, don my sunglasses, and buy sunscreen. It was THAT scorching hot, and it never cooled down! I feel like I actually got a suntan from reading a book!

Danielle is an interior designer who is just starting her own design business. She was married for years to Bradley, her first and only lover. However her marriage was doomed for disaster when Bradley breaks her heart after accidentally butt dialing her while on a business trip, making his indiscretions no longer discreet. She. Hears. All. I nearly fell out of my seat and even snorted a time or two during this passage. Her reaction to this revelation really had me fist pumping the air for Danielle. She was strong and knew she deserved better than her cheating husband. She remained strong, with exception of that one weak moment for which I could have slapped her, throughout most of the book. That is until she meets Harrison Towers and accepts a job designing a few of the buildings he owns, as well as his personal Penthouse. She knows there is something familiar about Harrison Towers, but doesn't place him until a short time later.

Harrison Towers is a mega real estate mogul from Canada. He is tall, dark, and sexy with a French accent, a motorcycle, a roadster (sex mobile), and every luxury money can afford him. But there is something mysterious about Harrison and his business dealings, not to mention he is quite the dominant and overbearing force in and out of the bedroom. He is a very determined and confident man of few words. When Harrison states it, so let it be written...so let it be done. Harrison is commitment phobic after losing his love, but he now has his eye on Danielle. When Harrison wants something, he will not be deprived of it, nor will his orders be defied. Although his relationship with Danielle begins as a business venture, it quickly escalates to something very erotic, and from there the games begin. This man is quite the commander in the bedroom. However, Danielle has already been burned by her ex-husband and has no desire to reinvest her heart in another man, but this is Harrison Towers.

I promised myself that I wouldn't allow this. I promised myself I wouldn't care. I promised myself that I would keep my guard up and only have fun. Well, I've broken those promises.

Danielle finds it difficult to resist Harrison's advances and the way her body betrays her weakens her resolve around him even more. She is quickly finding herself compromising her professionalism when it comes to working with Harrison Towers, thus breaking busting any and all fraternizing policies that might or might not have been in place with a force so mighty, the pigs were flying, Hell was freezing over, and the cows came home! I've never blushed so much while reading a book as I have while reading Champagne Showers. I do believe that Christian Gray would be blushing if he were to read this book. I'm talking sex and self-stimulation on every page! If you don't believe me, take it straight from Danielle's dialogue....

The next morning I awaken feeling rested and really sore. I can't remember ever having this much sex in a 24 hour span of time.

Well, Danielle, I can't ever remember reading about this much sex happening in the time span of this story! Danielle and Harrison have to be the bionic couple with the stamina of cave people! I haven't even mentioned their love for condiments! I'll never picture a chocolate sundae the same way again...ever. So just how was Harrison in the bedroom....and kitchen....and veranda....and hot tub....and bathroom...etc. etc. etc.?

He was so raw but so in control. He was a considerate lover but he was also in it for his own pleasure and he made no apologies for it. He was honest with his desire.

Because of Harrison, Danielle - who doubted her own prowess in the bedroom after being called a cold fish - began to channel her inner sex goddess and easily kept the pace with Harrison's demands, meeting his every challenge and offering a few challenges of her own. She was different. Never before had a woman taken control from him. He was the dominant one, but he found his control shifting to Danielle easily.

The writing style of Champagne Showers is very different from other books I have read. The beginning of the story had me guffawing, but the prose and storyline shifted with a noticeable difference. By the third chapter, the story began to feel very bland and monotonous. However, I was later introduced to a mysterious element, and I became reinvested in the characters and story line.

I have wavered back and forth on my rating of this book. I can't say that I connected with the characters, and the plot felt lacking for me at first. So what made this jump to a 3.5 star read for me? Something happened in the last few chapters of my reading. The plot began to develop, the mystery began to thicken, the suspense grew, a shocking twist that I never saw coming was revealed, and the ending had me jumping to read the first chapter from the sequel, Shattered; which was generously supplied by the author at the end of Champagne Showers. Will I read the second installment of this trilogy? You bet I will! The journey to reach that ending was so necessary, and the mystery continues into the sequel, Shattered, to be released on February 14.

This review is from: Glass Towers, Champagne Showers (Glass Towers Trilogy) (Kindle Edition)

Had I let myself be persuaded with some negative reviews, I would have missed reading one of the most engaging book ever! I have not read a book loaded with many laugh out loud moments it'll give you stitch on the sides ( one memorable moment was Danielle Austen's she calls "ex-sex with her ex" had me laughing so hard I had tears in my eyes ) combined with mystery, intrigue and romance and sensual sex scenes, oh my, you're in for a good ride all the way to the end. This is such a riveting plot your heart will be racing one moment and hands cold anticipating the next...I had moments of feeling overwhelmed with anxiety but also overcome with spine-tingling, electrifying feeling of how it is to be wooed and romanced by such an enigmatic, smoking hot man as Harrington Towers. This is a must read! There is a cliff hanger alright but you don't have to go through hair pulling, pins and needles waiting months to find out, the next book is OUT! which is what I've started to read already and it is so goooood! What does a girl have to do to get one Harrington Towers or maybe two?! :)

Jesus H!!!!....another one with a DAMN cliffhanger!?!?!

Ugh, and now I don't know when the 2nd book will come out..I had no idea there was a 2nd book to this one, based on the reviews I read. Beyond that, can you say Holy Shit! Harrison Towers gives Christian Grey a run for his money in the kink department! I'm nicknaming him "Freak Nasty". This is one hot wealthy french man that takes naughty to another level. Poor Danielle.....cheating husband, having to start a new life not trusting men....then she meets the one that releases her freak flag, and of course she can't put the breaks on her emotions!

I loved that not only was the book steamy, but it was a romantic suspense book as well...and the damn cliffhanger made me want to kick someone! I'm not needing to know the release date of Shattered so I can find out WTH happens next for them! For as kinky as the book is, the use of "P" was a bit funny and much, but the story was so good it was easy to overlook! Good job to these authors and please hurry up and get the next book out!!!!

(Note) My reviews of this series comes after having read all three.

I enjoyed this story about an about to be divorced young woman who's husband philandering has disheartened her and left her devastated. In an attempt to regain her life back she begins her own design business which ultimately puts her into the path of Harrison Towers. Harrison is French, wealthy and she has an instant attraction to him (having seen him once in passing this is not a suprise to her). Harrison offers her the opportunity to do work for his corporation and a sexual realtionship ensues. The story is good, however this first installment lacks much personal interaction besides the sex. For that reason it was lacking for me. Also, the sex goes on and on and on.....I could have used a more condensed version of it as it happens often and I found myself skimming thru the sex scenes (Gasp!). There is some intrigue as she begins to get subtle and not so subtle threats and is not sure where they are coming from...it catches you just enough that you want to keep reading.....so, off I did to book two!

This book had it all! SEX SEX EROTIC SEX, mystery, suspense. I was sitting on the edge of my seat the whole time. The sex scenes left me panting for more. I would read at work, on lunch break, in the car at the red lights etc. Seriously would be all flushed with a permanent smile on my face all day. People kept asking me why I was so happy and glowy LOL.....read the damn book people. I told all my girlfriends about it and they say the same thing. We want more of this book. The Trilogy is so tantilizing and sexual, I am going to have to re-read it. YUM! Thank you authors. This is a great series.

I'm not quite sure what to say about this book besides I really liked it. When I was first introduced to Harrison Towers I wasn't sure I liked him. But I really did not like the ex husband Bradley. So here I had Danielle with these two men I didn't like. Not exactly how I saw a love story. But then I thought maybe Harrison was nice. He was growing on me. And then Danielle started acting like a "dummie" ignoring the scary stuff around her and then Bradley starts acting like a good guy. I was really confused. Someone was the bad guy....but who? And why? And then it ended. And I found myself wanting to read more and more! I was hooked. Can't wait for the second book to come out!

The heroine is too much a Miss Priss to use the word "pussy" and substitutes it with "P" - please spare me. On the other hand she and the hero talk constantly about "cumming" which is a word that I find totally unerotic and which is used frequently and inflationary in this romance. If there's ever been too much sex and too little plot than it applies to this trilogy. I only read one and a half books before I had to give up out of sheer boredom. D for the first installment and DNF for the second.

A Hot Billionaire Alpa Male and a jilted beautiful 27 year old woman. Lots and lots of hot sexy in about 21 different places and different positions. Add in a evil woman a bitter ex husband and some drama is what this book is all about. Even though some of it was predictable I still really enjoyed this book. I'm looking forward to reading this whole series!!!

OMG I can't believe this book it was great, lots & lots of sex, raunchy and erotic but also with a story and a plot which is yet unknown which keeps you wanting more. The sequel follows on from the last book so can't wait but would recommend this to anyone who enjoys erotica and isn't bashful.

There isn't even a connection - SAVE YOUR MONEY

This book is a joke. There isn't even a connection between this couple. Half the book is this ridiculous sex scenes. The other half off the book you are trying to figure out what the heck is happening. Won't be buying book two.

I am in that place where I am flitting between 3 and 4 stars as this is just one heck of a hard book to pin a rating on. Some parts of the book are bloody good, the romance is sizzling along, it's hot and it falls perfectly in it's place of a hot erotic read. Then it's really strange at the way the author describes the for want of putting this better, 'the girly garage where he wants to park his car' - it's only described as "P", so your getting a hot love scene and then that word thrown in it and A LOT! RANDOM!!!! It kinda makes the scene then a tad bit laughable as the next word will be the porno lingo for come.... get it..... it's just really bizarre how it's hot, then weirdly cutesy and then porno talk. I personally can't stand the sleaze lingo, it takes away what could be a classy scene and turns it cheap, but that's just how I feel on today's erotic love stories. Sleaze should be left to the magazines and in this contemporary erotic romances they should deliver on a classier level, this isn't one of those in my eyes. Yes we're told why she can't say the 'P' word but you think it could still be described as that for the sake of the reader's sanity!

Also I had a real hard time when the characters were talking, they seemed robotic and stilted and conversations just didn't flow, I also kept saying to myself w.t.h. when each person was talking a line they just had to say the other person's name every single new line - like do we ever do that in real life - NO!!!!

But the crux of the story was enough to keep you reading on, to find out what was going to happen or probably to find what your thinking is going to happen actually does, as it's a tad predictable, but it did have enough I suppose to hold my attention, although I did skim over the scenery being described a lot.

So for all these reasons there was not enough 4 star material to warrant the extra star with this review but it does have it's moments when it is, the stilted chats, weirdish erotic scenes and fluffing out the text to probably feel it's ok to drag out to a trilogy is what brings it straight back to a 3 star read for me. I am actually torn after finishing book 1, do I really want to subject myself to book 2 and to only find out what I am thinking is going to happen....... just really not sure.

Ack I am really torn and troubled by this book, this is definitely a bit Jeckyl and Hyde. Oh and I can't believe I am going to say this but there is TOO MUCH sex! It's like Christian Grey on Viagra! A tad overkill in that area methinks.
