From the moment they met, Jenna knew Reece would break her heart, but she never dreamed it would happen like this. Jenna is left shattered and broken. When life becomes too painful to deal with and she feels completely alone, there’s only one person to help her pick up the pieces and move on. The one person she doesn’t want to turn to. The one person she promised to stay away from. Tyler.
Can Jenna put aside everything she knows about him and let Tyler help heal her broken heart?
Danielle is a romance author best known for steamy romances with a dash of tears and an overload of love and passion between her characters.
In 2011 her Debut novel For Always topped Amazon charts in the Young Adult category. Danielle graduated from Farleigh Dickinson University with honors, and currently lives in North Carolina with her husband, three children and their family dog.
So one thing I have to say about Danielle Sibarium is she knows how to make me cry. I became a fan of hers when I came across For Always and I absolutely fell in love with Jordan and Stephanie. I related to Stephanie in some ways that made me just feel that character and like Steph I fell in LOVE with Jordan. So when I found out that she had another book out, Heart Waves, I bought it without a second thought. It’s different from For Always in a good way. So at the end of Heart Waves, Danielle left me with questions, lots of them. Is Jenna and Reese really going to end up like Romeo & Juliet? Who the hell is this Tyler guy? What’s Reese hiding? What’s going on between Reese and Tyler that he has to warn Jenna to stay away from him??
Questions upon questions I hoped were going to be answered in Breaking Waves… some are answered but by those being answered in only fueled more questions. *sigh* The thing is that’s what makes a good book…the questions, the constant wonder on what’s behind the next door or who else is going to make an appearance and totally blow everything you thought you knew out of the water. I knew from the first page that this book was going to break me. Hell I knew it was going to break me with the short teasers Danielle would post on FB or Twitter but the diehard fan in me pushed through and sucked it up… I was crying like a baby more than once starting around page 15ish. Why you ask well you’re going to have to read it to find out because I don’t like spoilers!
Let’s just say something major and when I say major I mean MAJOR goes down. An example of what had me balling, like seriously ugly crying that I had to pause for like 10 minutes to clean myself up and calm down in order for me to continue….
“I love you!” he spoke through clenched teeth when he pulled his mouth off mine. “I will always, always love you. Just like Romeo and Juliet.”
Seriously Reese absolutely killed me with this….dead. So while I’m on the subject of Reese. I LOVE him seriously LOVE him. He may have a past and might be hiding something but he is the sweetest boy and he absolutely loves Jenna. There’s no question about that.
Now Jenna….*sigh* Danielle I absolutely love you but Jenna got on my nerves in this book. I felt like she wasn’t totally being true to herself and Reese for that matter. Could I understand why she did some of the things she did? Yes. Do I agree with them? Not so much. I feel like she took a long time figuring things out and let Reese down.
Which brings me to Tyler. I DON’T TRUST HIM. At all. No questions ask I think he has a hidden agenda and Jenna is playing right into his hand. There’s just some things not connecting with him for me. There’s a part in the book that makes me sympathize with him and I slightly feel sorry for him, but I also feel like he’s a walking contradiction. I feel like whatever is behind Reese’s secret has something to do with Tyler and his father. I’m #TeamReese 100%.
I also love that Danielle showed a nicer side to Mike, because he was a total ACE in Heart Waves when it came to Jenna. He grew up some and started treating Jenna better. Just when Jenna’s best friend Grace started acting bitchy, I’m totally not fond of her at all in this book. Which is sad because Jenna needed her best friend even if she never said it and she wasn’t there, cue Tyler and his wannabe understanding self. Sorry if you’re a Tyler fan…I really don’t trust the guy.
For all you Reese fans, this book is mostly about Tyler…*hides* though I wasn’t a fan of that I understand it and I’m sure you all will too. I would be lying if I didn’t say I wasn’t concerned about what this means for Jenna and Reese and with the way the book ended…. Let’s just say I hope our modern tail of Romeo and Juliet ends better than the one written by Shakespeare. I can’t wait to see what happens in the next book.

Summary (from Goodreads):
From the moment they met, Jenna knew Reece would break her heart, but she never dreamed it would happen like this. Jenna is left shattered and broken. When life becomes too painful to deal with and she feels completely alone, there’s only one person to help her pick up the pieces and move on. The one person she doesn’t want to turn to. The one person she promised to stay away from. Tyler.
Can Jenna put aside everything she knows about him and let Tyler help heal her broken heart?
What I Liked:
I liked this book even more than I liked the first book! This rarely happens for me, because usually, the first book is extremely well written, and the second may be excellent, but not as wonderful as the first book. Well, this book was, in my opinion, better than the first book.
Something really, really bad happens in the beginning, and throws Jenna completely off balance. Without Reece, she feels empty. I think Ms. Sibarium did an excellent job of portraying Jenna'sfeelings of anger, loneliness, and despair. Jenna hides, or she lashes out, and both are understandable reactions. I really feel for Jenna throughout the entire book.
I KNEW Tyler was better than Jenna and Reece gave him credit for! I always liked Tyler, and I really like him in this book. He seems more real than Reece. Everything with Reece seemed so la-dee-dah, and while that might seem like a good thing, to me, it was a little strange. Tyler is so much more rugged, imperfect, and, well, HOT. Yum. Zumba and Tyler. That's all you need to know.
So, if you cannot tell, there is a love triangle. BUT. I actually like this love triangle. It's a good one - the guy leaves (from what readers know, not by choice). The girl is grieving, and needs a friend. The new guy does not take advantage of her grieving situation, but they grow close. I think this romance is sweeter and more fleshed out than Reece and Jenna's romance.
This book is definitely a great follow-up to Heart Waves. With the absence of a certain character, we get to see more of an independent Jenna, more of Tyler, and some actual decisions by Jenna. I am definitely invested enough in this series to want more!
What I Did Not Like:
This book is so short! I NEED MORE! But seriously. Not a lot happened. This book was only 200 pages long, and I noticed. I need more of a plot than Jenna suffering.
Also, like my complaint with Heart Waves, I want to see more about Jenna's ability. It's mentioned like, once, at a fair. Also? I think readers need to know more about the actual plot - with the computers and files and whatever. I'm feeling A LOT in the dark, and readers really should not be feeling this confused about the major plotline this late in the series. The major plotline is really pushed behind the romance, which is NOT okay. I hope the next book has the computers/secret files plotline in the forefront, with the romance issue shadowing it.
Would I Recommend It:
If you have read the first one, definitely! If you have not read the series yet, I would still recommend the series, but this series is not for everyone. As no series ever is.

WARNING!! Reading this book will give you the following....
Major Heartache Confusion Beyond Belief (Reece's story) Desire Hidden in the Dark Happiness for the Future Knowledge of Danger to Come
If that doesn't make you want to know what's going to happen my review just might. I love this book, words cannot describe it. If you never read Heart Waves you should go out and grab it!!
We start off the second book where we left off in the first. Jenna is confused and then remembers the night before. Reece is nowhere in sight. She then leaves her best friends house (Grace) and goes home where later Reece shows up with some flowers and tells her everything is alright, but again like in Heart Waves avoids the subject of his secrets. Now this gets tricky, I don't want to spoil things for anyone who may be reading this review. Reece is Jenna's world, but all the sudden Reece is ripped from her heart. Friends & Family are treating her like it's a crime to be thinking of him since he's gone now. Get over it and move on, it's what every young girl should do right, there's plenty of fish in the sea, but he was her Romeo to her Juliet and things will never be the same.
The electric white light between her and Reece is gone and filled with a dark gaping hole. During this dark time a mysterious character arrives....Tyler. Jenna finds a friend, one who understands lost things and the feeling of loneliness. It's almost unavoidable she's attracted to him like a magnet. He understands her in ways she can't believe, and begins to wounder if what she felt for Reece was just a bubble. Did she really even know him?? Did he feed her cheap words?? Tyler is raw and new to her scabbed heart, he shows her what it is to live again. To feel the blood pump through her broken heart.
This book will take you on a roller-coaster with your mind, heart, and emotions. Jenna's choices come with consequences. I personally am rooting all the way for Tyler. I loved his character from the beginning in Heart Waves and this books makes me LOVE him even more. We see how real Tyler is, and how deep inside hes wounded just like Jenna. Hes a hurt dog who has to have a loud bark. He's scared to accept people inside and Jenna eventually breaks through his wall and sees right through his exterior.
My words for this book is Amazing, Beautiful, Heart-Breaking, and Shocking! I really wanna go back right now and read it again. I feel like I didn't absorb enough of it.I give this book a 5 out of 5 stars! I hope you all enjoy this book!! Thank you Danielle Sibarium for creating such a great book & letting us all be a part of it :)
I want to ask you all who you think Jenna should be with and why?? Also what do you all think Reece is so scared of?? If this was turned into a Movie what Actors would you cast??
Ok, so...going into this, I was SUPER excited. I'd been looking forward to reading more about this story since I finished Heart Waves. And guess what? I wasn't disappointed. The plot just got a whole lot better. At the beginning of Heart Waves, I had thought this would be a pretty normal story line, just about love. But no, at the end of Heart Waves, it all changed.
So all in all, this plot pretty much rocked. All the suspense, romance, um, EVERYTHING. Rocked.
Characters:
I've always liked Jenna. She's like a normal human being, with feelings. Not all tough. But in this book a little, had some mixed feelings on her character, but I still think she's an awesome character.
Reece didn't have a big part in this story, but when he was in it, he made me cry. He made Jenna cry. I think he made everyone cry. And since he had to go away, I didn't get to see much of him.
Tyler was a pretty new character, since we didn't see a lot of him in Heart Waves, and I can't say I liked him. Just like Jenna, I was confused and a little bit scared of his mood swings. But I think all he needs is some love.
I always get upset when parents, and best friends kind of gang up on the main character, and it happened again in Breaking Waves. I kept wanting to protect Jenna from Grace, and her parents. I just don't get characters like that! But it went really great with the plot.
Writing:
The writing it just down to the point. I love it. I couldn't get any better. No fancy words, or trying to describe one room in like five paragraphs. Danielle does an amazing job with telling her story without all the fancy things that some authors use in their writing.
Romance:
The romance was sketchy throughout this book, but I wasn't flipping through the pages waiting for the romance to happen. And since Reece had gone away for this book, Tyler was the step in for the romance, which really complicated things for Jenna and her heart. I can't really say how much I liked the romance between Tyler and Jenna...let's just say...Reece is still my favorite.
Wrap up:
I cried through most of this. And since I don't cry often, and most of the time, some actual tears almost fell from my eyes. This book completely rocks. By page like....1o, Danielle had me almost crying. Which I think really is a sign of a great author. And even though it was short, I still thought it was amazing.
NOOOOO the ending nearly killed me. There are so many loose ends. This book was great and I was so lucky to be given the opportunity to be able to read both Breaking Waves and Heart Waves.
The first book set up all the characters and emotions for this book so as soon as you started to read it you don't want to put it down. You try to figure out what is going on while processing what is real and what is not.
You get so mad at Reece's choice and are left with so many open questions. I was quite surprised with Tyler and his feelings. I see why Jenna makes the decisions she does because she was left gutted and reeling but you want to shake her because Reece left her lots of clues that she was just too devastated to see clearly.
Tyler is for sure hiding something but yet he grows on you that you start to maybe route for Tyler but until the truth comes out I am totally Team Reece.
The book has a Romeo and Juliet theme and you hope that the book does not have the same end as that tragedy did. I just hope that Jenna can open up her eyes and her heart and realize that things change even though she originally saw the future doesn't mean that it is 100% correct or that she interpreted what she saw or felt correctly.
The book is left open for I assuming another book if not than that ending was just cruel.
I LOVE this book! I expected a good story but what we got was amazing! The whole time second guessing myself on what I thought was gonna happen to Jenna.
I love that there are so many surprising twists and that we go along with Jenna to discover what is happening and how she's feeling about it!
I cried and wondered along with Jenna through the mace that was the aftermath of the opening chapters and how the unexpected events turned Jenna's world upside down. Once I started reading I didn't want to stop and now that I've finished the book I cannot wait to read the conclusion to this wonderful story. Ms Sibarium please put me out of my misery! I need the 3rd book yesterday! In the meantime, thank you for an awesome book.
If you read the synopsis you already know that if you love Reece, your heart will some how be broken. The first chapters are definitely heartbreaking. The story as a whole is a fun and bittersweet and then the end basically knocks you on your butt. And yet, I still could not put it down until I read those final bittersweet pages.
This book made me cry a few chapters in. I mean cry that ugly cry. Dear Mrs. Danielle Sibarium you're trying to get me to fall in love with Tyler but it's not going to happen. Although I do find something about him very sexy. I feel like I need to mourn. I don't think my heart will ever be the same again. I'm not sure I want to read the next book, only because my heart is too broken. But at the same time I must find out what happens. Aww this fiction relationships get me a little crazy sometimes.
Danielle Sibarium has done it again and swept me off my feet! I have to say that Breaking Waves lived up to everything I wanted it to be. I loved Heart Waves, but I absolutely loved and adored Breaking Waves. It was better, bolder, and packed with intense array of emotions.
I’ve always loved Danielle’s writing. Each book she writes she manages to grip me from the beginning and Breaking Waves was no exception. While Danielle gives us an even more developed character in Jenna, she gave us more with the prominent presence of Tyler. Not only that, Danielle dives deep and evokes many feelings and emotions that really tug at the heart and soul. Danielle added the perfect amount of twists and she does a great job of dancing around what was going on, letting you get a little information to keep you hooked for more. She definitely brings in the heartache, the sadness, the sexy, the funny, and the swoon-worthy moments.
Jenna goes through a tough and devastating time in Breaking Waves. The fear, anguish, and depression she felt was like my own and I really ached for her. Although Jenna was in so much pain, I thought she did a good job of trying to pick herself up even when she felt like she couldn’t move on or when she thought she was losing all hope. I empathized with Jenna greatly and I thought that everyone around her just didn’t understand what she was going through. I hated that some of her friends and her parents kept pushing her to deal with it when these sort of things took time. I liked that Jenna did her own thing and didn’t rush into anything. Jenna was determined to find out what was really going on and that’s where I admired Jenna the most because even with the grief, she still found a way to go beyond that without the pressure of others. I think Jenna really grew, learned, and opened up more in Breaking Waves. She’s slowly evolving into a stronger, more independent, and level-headed woman.
While I do love Reece with my whole entire being, he did not shine in this book the way Tyler did. We are introduced to Tyler briefly at the end of Heart Waves, but don’t get to know him until this book. In Breaking Waves, we get a chance to see a whole different side to this bad boy. Tyler was definitely hard-headed, obnoxious, rude, and sometimes a complete asshole. He had the worst mood swings compared to myself on PMS. But even then, Tyler had this loving, caring, sweet and vulnerable side I fell for. Sure, he had anger issues, but he was so fierce, loyal, and very protective of not only Jenna, but Reece as well. He was slightly broken and misunderstood and really, you just want to give him a hug. Tyler really helps Jenna heal and move past her struggles and for this, my cold heart melted for him instantly. Not only did he make Jenna laugh, but he also made me laugh with all their funny moments and witty comebacks. Tyler messed with my head and my heart. It’s an understatement to say I’m truly conflicted. He was infuriatingly sexy in that I-want-to-hit-him-and-kiss-him-all-at-once kind of way. Reece fans will definitely have to chase after their hearts when they meet Tyler.
I always forget how much I miss certain characters in a book until I get a chance to be back with them and this was how I felt when I read Breaking Waves. It was a mixture of familiarity and newness all wrapped in one book filled with danger, mystery, drama and a whole lot of tension. There is still so much I want to know and figure out and for the life of me, book three cannot come out soon enough. Overall, I freaking loved Breaking Waves! Danielle Sibarium did not disappoint me one bit!
This book was received from the author in exchange for an honest review.
Some series suffer from sophomore syndrome, but this installment absolutely did not! It was equally as engaging, and I loved every bit of it.
Jenna had always predicted that Reece would break her heart, and yet, she let Reece get close to her. So when he does, she is absolutely heartbroken and devastated. Without Reece, the person who knew her the best, no one else understands her and her grief. She feels herself just going through the motions of every day and not really living. When she needs help the most, she turns to Tyler, Reece’s greatest enemy. Since Reece broke her heart, can Tyler make it whole again?
I felt immensely bad for Jenna in this book. She really went through a horrible time, and I felt her grieving strongly. I was so impressed that she didn’t let herself completely shut down. As much as she was anguished, she tried her hardest to move on. I think she matured even more in this episode, and my love for Jenna definitely grew a lot.
Tyler, my new man! He was a total sweetheart and really took care of Jenna when Reece broke her heart. He was attentive, and even let Jenna take him to Zumba class! Oh, that was definitely one of my favorite scenes. He is also very, very good-looking. I still really have no idea why there is so much bad blood between him and Reece. As much as I adore Tyler now, I think he is hiding things from Jenna, and I can’t help but think he may be a bit shady.
Reece was absent for really most of the book. When he was there, he was really sweet, but definitely vague. It’s really hard to explain, but after he broke Jenna’s heart, he broke mine too. I will have a tough time forgiving him in book 3. I think both him and Tyler have hidden agendas, and I am not sure who is keeping Jenna in his best interests.
Jenna’s parents were so good to her. They let her have her own space when she craved it but pushed her to get out when she needed to. Mike, her previous tormentor, showed a much softer side when trying to make Jenna feel better. Grace didn’t really understand what Jenna was going through, but she attempted to console her. I still don’t like her as much as I usually love best friends. I just don’t think she gets Jenna.
Just when I thought I knew what was going to happen, I found out quickly that I was dead wrong. Danielle throws the greatest curveball that I could never have expected. This plot made me cry like a baby but also laugh like an idiot. There were heartbreaking scenes, but there were also scenes like the Zumba scene. Dragging a beyond hot guy to a dance class with many drooling girls and a jealous Jenna makes for a very good laugh. The romance was a lot different in this book. Jenna still clearly cared for Reece, and she always will. But she also opened her heart to Tyler. They are really different boys, and they both care for Jenna a lot. As for which team I am on, I couldn’t tell you. Ask me after book 3! :)
This installment had me on both of the extreme sides of the emotional scale. I want book 3 so bad right now! Gimme, gimme, gimme!
Favorite Swoon-worthy Quote: I didn't make a move, but watched him intently as he dipped his head down for another long delicious kiss. "I've wanted to kiss you for a long time," he said breaking away. "And now, I don't want to stop." "Then don't." I stood on my toes, ready to meet him so he could know in no uncertain terms I wanted it too. His hands circled my waist, and rested on my backside, his thumbs tucked into my waist band, rubbing my skin, lighting a fire within me.
After finishing Heart Waves, I was incredibly excited to jump into this book. Reece and Jenna were adorable and I was completely interestedin seeing what came next for them. So I started Breaking Waves...and was flabbergasted at what happened! It was something I should have seen coming but just...didn't.
So, I'm just going to say that there's not as much Reece and Jenna in this one. As I told you, Reece is stubborn. BUT, there is loads and loads of Tyler. Which I did not expect whatsoever. Personally, I think I liked/loved Breaking Waves even more than Heart Waves. Whereas book 1 was sweet and cute, this one was sweet and OMG. Yeah. I said it. And there's a difference, and I loved it.
Character Rundown: Jenna: I'd say Jenna was a tad bit easier to deal with in this one. Mostly because, I get what she was going through and cut her some slack. I still don't like her very much, but same as before, that's okay.
Tyler: I. LOVE. TYLER. Whereas Reece was believable, Tyler was completely REAL. He was who he was and I loved it. I definitely feel that Tyler was a much stronger character than Reece, even though Reece is near and dear to my heart. Also, I am Team Tyler. Just feel like that's worth mentioning. ;)
Reece: For the sake of not spoiling, I'm not going to say much about this boy except that I just want to shake him for, like, hours. Just...AH. Slapping him would be nice, too. Then I'd hug him because I care about him regardless.
Plot. There was a big BOOM at the beginning, then there was a bunch of dealing with said BOOM for a while. Then things start to get funky, and then there's a POP near the end. And then we end...well, I'll tell you in that section of the review.
Sweet things. Tyler is the source of most sweet things in this book. I must say, he did an amazing job of making me smile. And that's what it's all about, really. He also did a wonderful job of making Jenna NOT act...in irritating ways. And that's all I can say, because, aha, I'm close to spoiling again.
The ending. This is the POP I was talking about. And then you want more because you really need to know what comes next. How's Jenna going to deal with it? What's Tyler going to think? And, goodness...Reece. So, yeah.
Overall,Breaking Waves was a fantastic follow-up to Heart Waves and most definitely left me wanting more. If you read Heart Waves I totally think you should read Breaking Waves. Now we just need book 3...
“Breaking Waves” (Heart Waves, Book 2)” by Danielle Sibarium
I received this book from the author in exchange for an honest review.
Once again I was swept away in the story of Jenna and Reece. I really enjoyed the 5 STAR novel “Heart Waves” where I was introduced to their love…but I really LOVED the 5 STAR story of “Breaking Waves.” Danielle Sibarium is a brilliant author that knows exactly what her readers want. She captivates me from the very beginning of all her books, and this one was no exception. I highly recommend her work to Young Adult and Adult readers, who enjoy Contemporary Romance with a slight Paranormal twist.
The moment Jenna met Reece in “Heart Waves,” she knew he was going to break her heart. She just didn’t know how it would happen. Never in a million years would she have guessed what really happened. I know I never saw it coming. Now, you’re going to have to read “Breaking Waves” to figure out what happened yourself. I can’t ruin the story for you. Jenna is crippled with grief and her family and friends don’t understand her. They all think she needs to move on and stop being sad. But there is one person that knows her grief, the one person she was supposed to stay away from – the one she promised to stay away from…Tyler.
I really like Reece a lot…but I also am really into Tyler now. I almost feel bad that I like Tyler…as if I am betraying Reece. I love when I think of characters from books as real people – it goes to show how good the story is. I always fall for the bad boy though. I especially like the bad boy who is actually a really good man at heart…they’re the best! I like how Tyler and Jenna connected and how they seemed to understand each other. I found myself wanting them to be together all the time, and actually routing for Tyler over Reece.
I definitely think readers who enjoy Young Adult Contemporary Romance novels will really enjoy this story. The Paranormal twist is small, but it is there. Jenna has visions, and she knows things when she touches something personal of someone’s – like a ring. So the “Heart Waves” series will reach a wide range of readers because of the multiple genres. I think that “Breaking Waves” by Danielle Sibarium should be added to your To Be Read list to read in the near future, or otherwise go out and buy it right now along with the first book in this series, “Heart Waves.” I cannot wait to read the third book in this trilogy. I am definitely craving more after reading “Breaking Waves.”
I had really mixed emotions about this book until about half way through… which is when I decided that the book was super awesome!
For the first half of the book, the only thing that kept me going was Tyler… oh BOY do I LOVE him! He is moody but sweet… mean but nice… the only bad thing is he has serious issues! But he’s hot so I can overlook that issue part.
But even he was almost not enough a few times. Jenna was just so… blah! Poor Poor Jenna… ugh I HATED her! I understand she was grieving and processing a terrible tragedy… but well… I really really hate girls that think they NEED a man to complete them. Yes Reece was gone, I’m sorry Jenna really I am, but its time to put on your big girl panties and move on!
So, now that I got my little Jenna rant out of the way back to what else I thought about the book…
The author Danielle Sibarium is really such an awesome writer, even when I hated Jenna, I still wanted to know what was going on. I also love how she is able to pull in little bits of supernatural elements into her story without it completely taking over.
By the end of the book, I was back to liking Jenna again (maybe she heard me ranting at her throughout the rest of the book) but she finally came to a few decisions that I thought she shoulda or coulda made way before she actually did.
I am a little nervous about the next book in the series, because I have a few ideas of what might happen, and I really don’t know how that will effect Jenna and Tyler as friends but as well as more then friends… and well, I really think that Tyler is the best one for Jenna and I think that Jenna is really good for him too (not that I am biased or anything)
Overall this was a really good sequel to Heart Waves which I had to oppoutunity to read last summer and I am glad that we were able to shove Reece outta the picture and get more of Tyler! I will be looking forward to the next book in this series because I really need to know what happens!
Warning you will need a huge box of tissues and that’s only for the first couple of pages. A huge, big, explosive event happens, which will blow your mind. It’s rare for a book to have a great sequel and this book has an amazing sequel. Breaking Waves is just as good and entertaining as Heart Waves. There is so many twists and turns your emotions will be going crazy. Each character had us so pulled in, which made it impossible to put this book down. We liked that Jenna seemed to grow and become more independent. Okay, we all thought we loved Reece, but now, Tyler playing a bigger role in this series, has made us jump ship to Team Tyler. He is one hot love interest. We like that he’s flawed in all the perfect ways. Okay a little part of us still don’t fully trust him, but there’s just something about a bad tortured boy we love. We also notice we began to really like Mike in this book. Chelsea actually is team Mike and wants him for herself. He becomes the friend Jenna really needs. We were a little disappointed in her best friend Grace. She seemed like such a good friend in the first book. Hopefully by book three she will go back to being the friend Jenna needs. There is a lot of secretes that go unanswered in this book, which just brings more excitement for the next installment in this amazing, thrilling series. Danielle is a brilliant writer and knows exactly how to make a reader cry, rejoice, and fall in love even when our hearts are broken. We can not wait for the next book. This is a series you must not miss.
After reading Heart Waves, I downloaded this straightway as I had to find out what was in store for Reece and Jenna.
Jenna and Reece had made up after an argument at the end of Heart Waves and Breaking Waves picks up right where it left off. Jenna wakes up with an unsettling feeling, which is related to her gift but what transpires is not what she expected at all. She is devastated and the heartache is almost unbearable. Her parents and friends are worried about her but nothing they do can bring her out of this darkness and hopelessness that surround her.
Tyler is the person Reece warned her to stay away from but it turns out that he can relate to what she is going through better than anyone else. Even when he is being helpful, doubts creep in and she starts an argument to push him away because she finds it hard to fully trust him due to Reece's warnings. Jenna is still trying to unravel the mystery surrounding Reece and why it happened, and it would appear that Tyler might have the answers. Tyler can be moody and a little unpredictable but as I got to know him, I couldn't help but like him.
I have to say that I thoroughly enjoyed reading this sequel despite the emotions it brings with it. I have already downloaded the last book in the series and can't wait to see how it all works out. I would recommend this Young Adult Romance with a touch of paranormal to anybody who likes this genre.
I loved the first book and the characters that were introduced but in the second book we get to see a little more of the most interesting characters in this series and that is Tyler. I liked Reece, but he was a little to perfect for my tastes. This book is full of heartbreak and mistery and we get some scocking news. The main character, Jenna, annoyed me a little in this book but considering everything she wents through I overlooked that. That is why the characters of this book seem very real to me. They are not perfect, they dont know what will happen next, just like the rest of us but they are trying to figure it out. I just hope that at the end, everyone is still in one piece. I love Danielle Sibariums style of writing, I love her other book For always and Breaking waves really made me love her writing more and I cant wait to see what happens next.
If there were 10 stars, I would give them to this book! My goodness, what an emotional journey. I absolutely felt Jenna's heartbreak and sorrow. I spent the majority books clutching tissues. I am absolutely Team Tyler though I understand why Jenna was so torn about him. Things I wish: I wish Jenna's "gift" was made more prominent. I couldn't decide if it was even needed. The story stood on it's own without the possible paranormal stuff. I wish we knew a bit more about what Reece was up to. I wish the bridge scene had never happened. Not something I thought Tyler would do to Jenna. All in all, I cannot wait for the next book. I love these characters. I am so glad I stumbled upon these books. Honestly, I thought about this book for 2 days after I read it. So good!
OMG!!! I loved this book. I'm glad I waited until the series was complete before I read it. First, I cried, A LOT. Then I started to fall for Tyler. We got a hint of him in the last book, but he was the focus in this one. While I missed Reece, for most of the book, I always had the sense he wasn't really gone. I hope I'm right, but if that's true I can't imagine how Danielle will end this series.Don't hate me, but I'm thinking at this point I like Tyler better.
There were a few big surprises and I wasn't able to predict what was going to happen next. I'm also curious about the refrence to Romeo and Juliet that seems to keep popping up every now and then.
Even better than the first which was amazing! A romance novel that keeps me constantly on the edge of my seat with suspense. After falling in love with Reece I didn't think there was any way I could love Tyler, but just like Jenna, I was hooked! I couldn't put it down!
