About the book: You have probably tried losing weight at some point in your life, or at least thought about it. It gives you tips that are easy to tie into your daily life, resulting in long-term weight loss while helping you gain in nutrition and fitness.

I don't read weight loss books and neither do I review them on my blog....let me be clear. But Pan Macmillan India sent this to me....so I am honor bound to do the job as a book reviewer. I don't read much weight loss books because most of the knowledge about the subject I have already read and learned from in school, biology texts and the internet and virtually all of them are the same.
Well same is the case with this book as well. Going into the matter as simply as possible this book lays out some cheap tricks and advice and simple diet plans that anyone can follow to stay in shape and maintain it. The exercises, the food plans, what to eat and what not to eat and some success stories; a short index to the book and helpful too.
The thing that I like most about the book is that it makes you understand the basics of weight loss in the most easy language possible. We always come across advices and methods on how to lose weight instantly, but unfortunately we are not explained how these things actually benefit our body or are completely worthless to try or believe. The contents of 'Losing It' provides us with logics and studies to support the same. It makes you understand that losing weight in a healthy way is more long lasting than doing it through starving or crash diets. I will recommend this book to all those people who have been trying to find answers to their weight loss queries!
This book is fantastic. Reading this book completely changed the way I look at nutrition and exercises. There is so much information about what is healthy for us and what is not and this can become really confusing. This book is so easy - It cleared the confusion and made it really simple for me to lose my extra weight.
It's more a fast pace book. The chapters are fairly short and the writing style is modern and easy. I definitely recommend this book to all who wants to lose their extra weight and get fit.

Interesting & Knowledge Sharing Book : I found this book an interesting and knowledge sharing book. It is a well written and encouraging medium to lose weight. It helps to know what a nutritious food is, and how it helps us. The Do's and Dont's in weight lose are well figured. I am very much thankful for the exercise tips and myths. I would like to recommend this book to those people who want to live fit and healthy.
As it is with all diet books....there are lots of contradictory and confusing as well as informative stuff. This is the first book which told me that stretching before exercise is harmful! And yes it also says walking doesnt help with weight loss ! That is not true ! My father has managed to remain in very good shape just by walking for almost 15 years now....
'Losing It' is very real and sticks to the basics. It busts many myths about weight loss and general nutrition. It answers the most relevant questions, which almost all of us fail to find answers to, and thus fail to lose weight or stay fit. Also, the book keeps it short and simple. Being healthy and keeping weight off is a lifelong process and 'Losing It' makes it easier to do that.
I would recommend this book to anyone who wants to stay fit.

This book gives basic guidelines on benefits, harms and myths about most types of food and exercises. It has lots of short articles. Some information like effects of nutrients are repetitive in many articles, but that is to be stressed upon.
Short and concise. Does not preach anything. Good read.
