In The Tiger's Heart Lieutenant of the Alaskan Tigers Raja Harrison goes on a rescue mission and finds Bethany Thompson being beaten. He rescues her, brings her back to the Tiger Clan compound and realizes that he has found his mate, which until that time he has wanted to avoid.
Bethany is one surprise after another. She is scared but soon accepts her situation and the attention that Raja is giving her. She accepts he is a tiger shiftier and her mate. She endures the killing of her family by the same rouge tiger group that attacked her. She is still a target and Raja will do all he can to protect her with his life.
The events have started to unite all the clans with leads coming from many directions as the leaders of the clan organize to capture and eliminate the threat from the rouge group. Bethany's Uncle James, her only remaining family member helps pull the plot together with his part in the history of the rogue tiger.
Raja and Bethany's mating makes them both stronger as new revelations show them both their strengths in their new romance. Again the plot ends in a minor cliffhanger or a lead to the next book.
This is the second book in the series and it is full of action and the sweet love story of Raja and Bethany. I love that shifters know their fated mates from the moment they meet and Raja certainly falls hard and fast for Bethany, especially as he has no intention of being mated, his life is too dangerous. There are still lots of troubles ahead for the Alaskan Tigers but with their mates at their sides Ty and Raja are stronger and I'm sure that good will prevail. I guess I will just have to read the rest of the series to see if the shifter clans accept Tabitha as their Queen.
This was marginally better than book one. Raja was a lesser ass than Ty but at least they agreed to teach both Tabitha and Bethany self defense, because really what's the point of having them surrounded by guards 24/7 when some simple self defense moves can lessen that stress?
In any case this kept me more interested than book one but unfortunately this also ends on a cliffhanger...don't authors know cliffhangers ruin the story? Some readers may be truly devoted to keep buying incomplete books, I am not one of those readers. The only instance where I read a few cliffhangered books are if I happened to have a free boxed set or the books were gifted to me. I will never knowingly purchase a book like the ones in this series where you have to keep purchasing the following books in order to get the full story..
Overall this series has awesome potential, the cliffhangers bring the ratings down dramatically, at least for me they do..
Ty receives a message from an unknown, but suspect he is working with Pierce. He is threatening a human woman's life with torture and death, will exchange her for Tabby. Raja has a strong reaction to the women in th video. He insists he needs to be the one to rescue her. Once her has her he knows why. She is his mate. Bethany is seriously injured. Rescued and wakes up not in a hospital like she suspected. The man who saved her is by her side. She just wants to go home. Raja is encouraged to tell Bethany who and what he is and what she is to him. Just as Bethany is trying to wrap her head around her new reality her family is targeted. Pierce lays blame with her uncle. He calls his sister a traitor for helping Ty. The hunt for Pierce continues. Tabby's family book revealed new information. New allies join in the fight. Fast paced and steamy. Ends in a cliffhanger.
Raja is the right hand man of the king and queen of the tigers. We learn a little about him in book one but in book two, he gets his own story.
Bethany is targeted by evil but Raja sets out to save her and in doing so might just save himself and the rest of the Tiger clan.
This second story of the Alaskan Tigers is a full story filled with action and passion. I would recommend that you read book one along with book 2 so that you can see a full picture of Raja and the evil the Tigers are fighting. It also sets up the rest of the book series nicely as we finally get to see many more of the tigers who deserve their own tales.
Bethany wins a trip to Alaska, although she doesn't remember entering any contests. When she arrives she speaks to her sister, Jamie, who tells Bethany to go to a night club and enjoy herself.
Bethany takes her sister's advice only to be kidnapped from the night club and beaten by her kidnapper. When Raja arrives to save her, Bethany is not sure if he is her savior or working with her kidnapper.
What happens to the kidnapper? Why was Bethany kidnapped in the first place? How does this fit in to the plan to unite the tiger clans?
** spoiler alert ** Red Flag for Descriptive Violence. I found Book 1 in the series to be sophmoric, stilted and formulaic at times, but wanted to give the series a chance as the story had some interesting threads, especially the Magic Book. However Book 2 had graphic torture of Heroine and play-by-play torture murder of 17 year old girl that was just too much violence for me. TOASTED from my Ebook Library.
There are several grammar/word choice issues; the book would have benefited from editing.
Needed a trigger warning for the graphic torture scene of Bethany's family, especially what happened to Jamie.
Raja at first is the true exemplar of "The enemy of my enemy is my friend."
There seem to be too many tigers for a community of just 40. Also, the worldbuilding doesn't seem to include any visible means of support for the community.
Well damn! This series has started off like a rocket. You will be "thrust into a different world. One with shifters, danger, death, betrayal, and who knew what else." I just had to use that quote from the book as it is the perfect description of what is happening. You really need to read this series, and I really need to read book 3...like NOW!
Raja is a lieutenant in the Alaskian Tigers pack. While looking forward to the day he would have a mate, he also knew it would be dangerous. Bethany didn't know why she been kidnapped but when rescued by the gorgeous Raja she didn't trust him. Wonderful book in the series.
It was a nice and quick read, with lots of sweetness and action, some surprises and insta-love. If you like a fast paced book with romance, shapeshifters and action, try it out, you won't be disappointed ! The only problem is that you'll want to read the next...quickly !
The killer, Pierce, who is after Tabitha is now after Bethany and her family. They are warned of Bethany’s danger and are able to rescue her before she is killed. A good story and plot that holds your attention and want to read the next book.
Another great installment the series. Nicely written with great characters and a good story line. I love the way they flow together and I enjoy how the story is going so far. There is plenty of action
Couldn't put it down loved the characters and the storyline and can't wait to read more in this series so it's a well deserved five stars and I would recommend it to everyone else
I was surprised to see the different shifters in the story. Interesting that the tigers and others were intermingled as well. I need to see what happens, next.
I enjoyed reading this book. This is a good series. Bethany and Raj are a good couple and I love the story building surrounding uniting all the tigers.
