Forgiven

Rate this book
Everyone has a past…good or bad, they are always there. They lurk and linger in the shadows, sometimes reappearing at the most inconvenient times.

Gabby and Bradley thought that their pasts would remain dormant, that happiness was theirs for the taking. Still the strongest of relationships can be rocked by the ugliness from a previous life, even if it seems to be a world away. The fact remains an ugly past is never distant. It taints everything it touches, drives permanent rifts between loved ones, and sometimes can ruin everything. Gabby and Bradley must find the only way to battle the past. Forgiveness becomes a light through the darkness, a guide for the lost, and hope for the hopeless. With forgiveness comes bright, new beginnings.

J.B. McGee is a mother, wife, and the Amazon Top 100 author of the best selling This Series. Amazon Crossing acquired the German rights to her debut novel, Broken. Heartfall, her coming of age novel about a bullied ballerina, is a #1 best seller in the Teen and Young Adult Performing Arts genre. Skipping Stones, a military romance about a young woman strongly influenced by her faith and her family all the while searching for her true love, is a #1 best seller in Women's Christian Fiction.

When J.B.'s not writing, she enjoys reading as well as watching and live-chatting her favorite television shows with her friends. Her favorite shows are Quantico, Blindspot, Grey’s Anatomy, The Bachelor/Bachelorette, Below Deck, The Vampire Diaries, The Originals, and Scandal (mainly because of her love of Scott Foley).

Born and raised in Aiken, South Carolina, she attended Converse College and eventually earned her Bachelor of Arts degree in Early Childhood Education from The University of South Carolina-Aiken in 2006.

In college, she was told by her children’s literature professor she would be the one student from her class to be an author. McGee shook her head and laughed. But in 2012, over six years after that statement was made and after a love of reading had been reignited, she gave writing a shot. J.B. gladly ate crow when she emailed her first book to the above mentioned children’s literature professor thanking her and acknowledging the accuracy of her prophecy.

In 2011, it was discovered that not only do both of her children, but also she and her husband, have mitochondrial disease. Affecting 1 in 2500 people, it has no cure or treatments. Being a writer allows J.B. to care for her family’s unique needs while also providing a platform for raising awareness for this disease.

She is a hopeless romantic who loves to escape into fairy tales—some she reads and some she creates.

J.B. McGee and her family now reside in Buford, Georgia.

Outstanding 5 Star Book

"Never lose Faith, Always have Hope, Love for Always." 1 Corinthians 13

Bradley Banks was once a player who thought love was never going to happen until he met Gabriella Gerhart who makes his world go upside down.

Bradley is a sweet, caring guy who sometimes finds a way to hurt the love of his life but he always finds a way to fix it, reading forgiven you can see how much Bradley and Gabby love each other.

In this story there is so much emotion between Bradley and Gabby so many secrets kept and overwhelming amount of love for each other. I love the fact that there is not just Bradley and Gabby's point of view but you also hear from Sam and a few other people, the ending is beautiful but it left me wanting more of Bradley and Gabby, and its great to know that JB McGee is writing a new book called "Trying" add it to goodread to learn more about the outstanding couple Bradley and Gabby. JB is one outstanding writer and I take my hot of to her- WELL DONE JB! You have done it again keep doing what you do!! :)

I had the good fortune to get a preview of this unbelievable book! I started it last night at dinner and had it finished this morning....The characters and the story line continue from Broken (this) and Mending (this). Gabby, Sam, Bradley...yep, the whole story continues...with Ian and Veronica....oh my heart.....from the first chapter to the very end, this book had it all..the angst, the love, the secrets (which Bradley has made a vow to himself, and eventually Gabby must stop), the white lies....all in the name of....you guessed it....LOVE. I still have my book boyfriend in Bradley....that man will never fall from his book pedestal:) This love story follows the love story of Gabby and Bradley....there is a twist that literally had me holding my breath.....there is a new character introduced ....and I must say, I didn't see that coming! Bradley always has Gabby's heart in his hands....he needs to do the right thing....but is the right thing the best thing for everyone...especially his Gabby Girl.
You will not be disappointed....but then again, JB McGee never let's us down;) This was my favorite of the series....maybe because in the words of our beloved author. "I am such a hopeless romantic!"

MIND. BODY. SOUL. FOREVER.

I've always wondered after reading Mending and Conspiring about the title "Forgiven" for book 3. What was Bradley asking forgiveness for? Come to find out it wasn't about Bradley after all. It mostly involved Gabby and her past. What she had been through when she was younger was horrendous and I can understand how she locked it down into her subconscious mind. Now I completely understand why she was always portrayed as being vulnerable and introverted. Despite her horrid past, she was able to find it in her to "forgive". In the end she gained so much MORE happiness than she ever could have ever imagined.

Bradley, Bradley, Bradley. Another one of my book bf's that I've missed. It was so nice to reconnect with him again. He still is the honorable, patient, caring and generous , ever-loving and passionate man who I've come to love since the very beginning. He's just perfect but not unbelievably perfect. He still had his faults but his actions were somewhat justifiable in the story. It was as if his main goal in life was to protect his love from experiencing unnecessary pain. As their story progresses, you can definitely see how their relationship has grown and develop.

"Gabby, you have my mind, my body, my soul and you are my heart...."

Multiple POV's of almost all of characters involved are in this book. Some might say that this could get confusing but the way the segments are written it wasn't. I loved that we get to know what each character was thinking in each separate situation because even though Bradley and Gabby were the main focus there were multiple side stories going on as well.

"Never lose Faith. Always have hope. Love for Always." - Corinthians 13

As the series progresses, you definitely see how the author has grown into the fluidity of her writing. I truly love this series, not only did it open my eyes to my hometown but gave me a love story that is unique and one that I would never forget. If you are looking for something leaning towards the emotional romance, this series is unquestionably the one for you.

My choice for Gabby was always Selena. And like in my Broken/Mending review. I always thought of Ashton as Bradley.

"She was lost in so many different ways. Out in the darkness with no guide. Sometimes love can come and pass you by while you're busy making plans."

In all honesty, I'm not really sure how I feel about this book. So, I can only seem to want to give it 3.5 stars. :( It had some fabulous parts and then some parts that just really disappointed me, especially after the last two books.

This book picks up right at the end of the second book Mending. Bradley and Gabby are finally together and they seem to be closer now than they have ever been. So, now begins the planning for the rest of their lives, but first they have to plan their wedding. However, the debacle with Veronica and Ian is still lingering in the back of their minds. Gabby agrees to move in with Bradley, and he is over the moon, but as their lives become more crazy with school, wedding planning, buying houses, and then the huge situation with Veronica and Ian, it almost appears that they got to spend more quality time together during their long distance relationship.

"Gabby, you have my mind, my body, my soul, and you are my heart. I didn't even know that this was even possible for me. If it's a dream...Then, I don't wanna ever wake up."

I really liked this book but not as much as the second book. There were so many twists and turns that it definitely kept me on the edge of my seat. I loved seeing Bradley and Gabby growing closer together and also Gabby getting so much stronger, but there was so much going on, that the parts that had been building for so long felt way to rushed. OMG, come on, Bradley and Gabby have been waiting for, what...a year, I can't keep up at this point, and then it finally happens and it was like 2 pages long and I was actually confused on the details of some of it. I'll leave the details out so as not to spoil, but for me it was a huge massive disappointment. Veronica and Ian's book packed more steam, and they aren't even the main two characters or their buildup :( I know this is a short story series, so I understand that at times these type of stories get rushed, but....SInce book one things were leading up to this point and then that was all I got... It was just a massively huge disappointment for me.

Like I said, I'm not trying to punk this book, it had some awesome parts as well. There were so many twists and turns, some completely unexpected. Plus, the multiple POV's was great. I love getting to see into the different POV's especially when storylines are so complicated. I have loved Bradley more with each and every book, even though this book didn't concentrate as much on him and Gabby, he has changed so much and I just love how supportive he is of Gabby, no matter what, and Sam too.

With all of this being said, I have seen that the next book is a continuation of Ian and Veronica's story and I am actually excited to read it and the next is Sam's story and even though I'm excited to read it too, I hope this isn't the ending of Bradley and Gabby's story. I hope they at least get a short novella or something that tells a little more that happens in their future. I just don't feel like with all that happened with Veronica and Ian, Gabby and Bradley's story is all of the way complete.

THIS book was so flipping good! After all the drama of Veronica and Ian we get some peace (for awhile at least) for Gabby and Bradley. This starts off just after book two ends, in the room after the proposal. We still don't know for certain if Bradley or Ian is the father of the baby Veronica is carrying but Gabby (for the moment) isn't running. But in Forgiven, we get a look into the past when someone from Gabby's resurfaces and she has to decide if she is strong enough to forgive.

To say that we just have this new stranger who seeks forgiveness is an understatement. Veronica and Ian have done their parts to stir up a shit storm in the lives of Gabby and Bradley, but sometimes forgiveness is the only way to move on and let go. Even when that decision is a difficult one to make and an even more difficult one to explain.

I adore the various POV changes. Not only do we get Bradley & Gabby's but when aspects of the story require a shift it was done flawlessly. Getting a bit of insight into Ian, Gabe and Sam make me want the next in the series to be released like yesterday. Someone should nudge that McGee lady and let her know we are going to start riots in the streets. :)

When Gabby saw him a year ago she was certain of one thing. She was going to enjoy the bit of man-candy from a distance. But that all changed with one dance and then his relentless pursuit of a girl that got under his skin like none before. That one chance moment, her saying yes to that date, her willing to take a leap of faith and try a relationship, his ability to stay the course with her promise to her mother and their ability to see through the hard parts when it counted and love each other enough. One moment changed their lives. One moment turned them into an us and that into a THIS .

And although we don't have to end their story here, we get to see this through. We get to see them at that church where it all began, dance to that song that she wanted to dance with someone special. We get that first night. And can I just say THANK YOU!!!! it was more of a realistic experience than most books. It could have been done with over the top results but it was fitting.

Even though 3.5 & 4 will be someone else's story I hope we get to see a bit of Bradley and his Gabby Girl. Adore this series to pieces, it's better than cake on my birthday.

Never Lose Faith. Always Have Hope. Love for Always...Corinthians 13

I loved the book tremendously, loved how it wasn't easy for the couple to get to where they wanted and loved how you sometimes have to forgive the past to move forward in the future.

Bradley and Gabby sure had a lot of obstacles to overcome in Forgiven, primarily the paternity of Veronica's baby. Gabby struggled internally with Bradley's devotion to Veronica during the pregnancy and it did put a strain on the relationship but a terrible tragedy and the baby's paternity was finally revealed and it closed the door on the two couples involved in this storyline. Gabby was also able to forgive Ian for the way he treated her in the past. There was a very touching scene before her wedding where he came to her and asked for forgiveness for his terrible behavior to her. Ian grew up in this book and was dealt a terrible tragedy but I look forward to what the author has in store for him when, Falling, book 4 of the series, is released in the summer.

Gabby's father, Gabe Gerhart was introduced and we find out about the abuse Gabby suffered as a child by the hands of her father. While Gabby's sister Sam is not able to come to terms with their father back in the picture, Gabby forgives her father for his past sins. He is not the same man as he was when she was a child and and has completely turned his life around. You can't change your past but you do have control over your future. I loved their scenes together and the fact that he was able to be the father he should have been when she was a child. Gabe is not a character to hate and he was a nice addition to the story.

The long awaited wedding for Gabby and Bradley was beautiful and so sweet and I cried right along with this couple, for everything they went through, as they recited their wedding vows. They got that HEA and it was well deserved. I came to the realization that you don't always need handcuffs and filthy language for a love scene to be "hot" in a book, the description of their consummation of marriage worked perfectly for this particular couple and it was beautiful, sweet and just perfect.

While I was sad to see Forgiven being the final book for Bradley and Gabby there are still two more books in the series to follow and I hope J.B. will give us a glimpse into their lives after Forgiven.

***I received an ARC of Forgiven for an honest review***

4.5 Stars for a well written and beautiful love story.

Once again, JB McGee has captivated my heart and entranced my mind with her writing. From the first pages of Broken when we felt Gabby's pain and indecisiveness, to the pages of Mending where Bradley worked to mend Gabby's heart, through Conspiring where we saw Veronica and Ian conspire against our Bradley and Gabby, and now into Forgiven where Bradley and Gabby muddle through and find themselves right where their hearts need to be...together, THIS series has held on to a standard of morals and principles that aren't commonly found in today's mix of love them and leave them. Forgiven shows us that everyone has a past and can be forgiven, promises made by young girls can be kept, and true love can conquer all! Bravo JB on a job well done! You've far surpassed my expectations and I can't wait to watch you grow even more.

I love this series so much! Gabby has grown so much since book 1. Bradley is AMAZING! As angry as I got when he was busy with Veronica when Gabby needed him, it was that very part of his heart that makes him so amazing. That part of the story felt rushed and looked over, but I am hoping there will be more detail in their book. I was not expecting Gabby's and Sam's dad to end up in the story. It made me nervous that something was going to happen to Gabby. It was a welcomed anxiety as his part of the story unfolded. I can't wait for the next story even though I am not a fan of those characters. I really want Sam's story, especially after the little hints in this one. I am really not ready to let Gabby and Bradley go!

I've been excited to read Forgiven for FOR-FREAKING-EVER and I have to say throughout the This series I've watched J.B.'s writing mature into something so beautiful and poignant I won't be able to forget this one for some time to come. I was elated and honored to receive an advanced copy of Forgiven and it took me no time at all to sink my teeth into this fantastic read.

Admittedly, when I saw the title I jumped to a conclusion, not a forgone one, but one I must admit was pretty damn shallow of me and I really had no reason to jump to such a conclusion. I automatically Bradley would need to be Forgiven. I thought the man that had been a big time player had succumbed to his baser desires and would need....

But I was wrong and I can admit that since Forgiven is more about what Gabby had to deal with to move on and accept the unconditional love that was gifted to her by Bradley. Her devastating heartbreaking past had me in..........................................................

right along with Gabby. Forgiven is written from multiple POV's, my favorite type of read, and it re-introduces us to some old friends, some people that had me gritting my teeth at times and some well this..

The book took me on a emotional journey that at times had me giggling, standing up, sitting down, biting my nails, pacing, re-reading to be sure I just read that correctly, smiling, crying, asking how much more I could take but most of all it had every element I desire in a awesome book that I was totally........................................

There were times that I was...........................................

that's a given and I had a few........................................

there were some moments where I ....................................

and then my favorite where I was ...................................

I felt like the proverbial rug was yanked right out from under me and that was my favorite. The ultimate "first" that us This series fans played out and I was smiling and giddy because J.B. stayed true to form. I love that she did not feel the need to turn everything into a panty melting between the sheets scene every other page. I love that she stood by Gabby's wishes and her beliefs to deliver a beautifully written emotional story and not sully it with "sex" nope ladies it was pure love. I read my fair share of everything but when a series starts one way I expect the consistency to remain and for that ..............

to you J.B. By the end of this book I was..........................

and I did a little

and then I went around an.......................................

everyone in my house including my dogs and my youngest child's dolls! Yep I was still freakishly stuck in the book and had to shake myself to remind myself that I wasn't a character in Forgiven.

Forgiven is a beautiful story that gave me everything as a reader I demand in a book these days. There are so many books out there to choose from and this is one you need to choose. Those that started Gabby's journey need to read Forgiven ASAP those who haven't started reading the This series need to start immediately, if your waiting for a invitation consider this that invitation and then come join the ranks of J.B. fans that are eagerly anticipating her next read :) I'm happy to say this a total 5+++++ read for me the further into this series I've gotten the more addicted I've become and the writing gripped me in Forgiven from page 1 and until I finished ~ Kudos J.B. this one was by far my favorite of the This series!!!!!

I had the pleasure of reading the books in the “This” series which were my first introduction to J.B. McGee. In Forgiven, we are given a wonderfully sweet and rich love story involving Gabby and Bradley. If you are looking for a story that does not involve graphic sex but still has the romance factor, Forgiven is for you.

The story is told from the several different POV’s including Gabby, Bradley and Sam. There is another major character that gives his POV as well but I don’t want to give away any spoilers. I loved the differing POV’s and how the author’s writing actually grew and matured as this series progressed.

Forgiven is a beautiful story of love, redemption and the power of forgiveness. The book provides a very satisfying sense of closure, as we see Gabby faithfully keeping a promise to her mother above all else which ends very nicely. Even after some very emotional events that occur in this book involving Veronica as well as a character very close to Gabby and Sam, readers will absolutely love the very HEA that J.B. McGee provides.

JB McGee is getting better and better with each book she writes!!! :) Just love her!!!

"Gabby, you have my mind, my body, my soul and you are my heart...." Favorite line from this book... Our hero Bradley Banks is just as strong, sweet, and commanding as ever and our heroine Gabby of course is still a sweetie but she definitely blossoms and becomes a much stronger character in Forgiven.

Gabby has a few things she has to face from the past in this book and she must decide to either face them head on or run like she has always done with things get to hard.

Will Gabby be able to stay and forgive or will she always run from true happiness? Have to read to find out......

This is a great series and I truly was moved to tears in a few different scenes in this particular book, which is not easily accomplished!!

I loved the Multiple POV's of the characters in this book. I didn't find it confusing at all it actually helped me connect more with all the characters. I was able to tap into the feelings of all the characters rather than just our hero and heroine

I had the pleasure of receiving an ARC for this and loved following Bradley and Gabby's story. I don't want to give anything away but we get to follow the pregnancy and see the impact on their relationship and those around them. We also get further insight into the other characters in the book. The demons of the past come back to Gabby with some twists along the way. The fluidity of JB's writing just improves with each book and I didn't want to put it down. I'm really looking forward to following the series to hear the other characters stories, as she did so well with Conspiring. Loved it!!

omgosh. where to start. I have loved the full Bradley & Gabby story. I'm glad we finally got to see Gabbys past and why she is so closed of. I'm glad we got to the end of the whole 'who's the daddy' and Bradley and Gabby could move foward with what ever out come (not saying more then that on that matter, not spoiling it for other readers)
I'm glad Gabby is able to forgive and keep the promise to her mom.
I just loved Bradley and Gabby and when I read 'the end' I wanted to cry. JB McGee should be so very proud of her self. This trilogy was amazing <3

So this is how my week went…

I read all four of the This books in seven days. Starting with Broken (This, #1) on 5/22, I worked my way through Mending (This, #2), Conspiring (This, #2.5), and then Forgiven (This, #3). I haven’t had a chance yet to review the first three books due to the time crunch to complete my review of Forgiven for this blog tour. Briefly, I will tell you that Broken and Mending were 3-star reads for me. I was on the fence. I didn’t love the books but I certainly didn’t hate them. They were just okay for me. I couldn’t seem to connect with the characters and I had a hard time with the writing style. Too many other reasons to state right now but when I have more time, I will go back and post complete reviews. Conspiring was a step up and a 4-star read. The number one change for me was the first person point of view. This made such a huge difference in my enjoyment of the story. Again, another review, another time.

Mending, a beautiful and poignant love story was also another 4-star read. There’s no denying the author’s growth. It was such a pleasure to witness just how much Ms. McGee’s writing has developed and matured. Again, the first person point of view made an incredible difference in the tone of the story. And I very much enjoyed reading the multiple points of views from all the different characters. It was crafted in such a way as to not cause any confusion at all.

Bradley scored so many more points with me. I wasn’t crazy about him in the first two books. But now I could feel how strong and overwhelming his love was for Gabby. Whether it was a love scene or tension between the couple, the emotions were pouring off the page so much that they were practically tangible. And he waited. Yes folks, the now reformed playboy waited for her. Even when she was so close to being ready to break her promise to her mother, he wouldn’t let her.

“When we’re fully together, Gabby, it will be a first for me.”
“How?”
“It will be the first time I’ve ever truly made love to a woman. The first time that I loved the woman more than anything in this world. There is nothing I wouldn’t do for you.” He softly kisses me. “You have a part of me that no one, and I mean no one, has ever had before.

“I wish we didn’t have to wait. It’s killing me. This is killing me.”
“Not budging, Gabby.” He is completely serious and his eyes are hooded. I don’t know how he can be so strong about it when he knows what he’s missing, and I don’t even know.

Gabby and Bradley have certainly gone through quite a lot in this series but this is the book that has most of the edge of your seat twists and turns. The angst has been turned up a notch (and who doesn’t love some angst) along with the heat. Yes, Bradley made me swoon, then swoon some more. Where has he been all my life? He certainly knows how to romance his lady! I love me a good love scene. And Ms. McGee has the ability to write a sensuous love scene without being overly graphic, not that I mind too graphic, but it just wouldn’t have fit with this story. And then there is the humorous banter between the couple for some comic relief.

“Whatcha thinkin’ about?”
“The last time I was here. How surreal all of this feels. You?” He pulls me into his chest.
“Not so innocent thoughts coming from me.”

Gabby’s character has displayed a remarkable amount of growth and development. She’s matured from the fragile, fearful girl she was in book 1. She’s gained an ample amount of strength, faced her fears and grown into an amazing young woman who can make her own decisions and stand up for herself. I found her a bit whiny and annoying Broken but have become truly fond of her.

“Everyone thinks I’m so fragile, that I’m so broken. I’m a lot stronger than they think I am. I am in shock, yes. But more importantly, I’m beyond pissed and angry that they knew about this and kept it from me. I’m so tired of secrets and revelations. It seems like as soon as Bradley and I get past one thing, something else happens to threaten our happiness.

As it it’s not enough, my sister refuses to quit treating me like the broken, fragile five-year-old girl I used to be. She insists on protecting and sheltering me. I’m a grown woman. I wish that people would let me make my own decisions. I’ll never be able to make them if people are constantly trying to make them for me.”

Forgiven was without a doubt the best of the series for me so far. It was heartwarming and charming. The epilogue was perfect. I’m very much looking forward to reading the next few installments that J.B. McGee has planned for us.

Here are a few of my favorite quotes:

“You can’t get back the time in the past. You can’t change it. You can only make sure to learn and move forward.”

“If I’ve learned anything through this experience, it’s that it’s the way we go about situations that set us apart from the rest.”

“Never lose faith. Always have hope. Love for always.” (1 Corinthians 13)

Forgiven by JB McGee

4.5 stars!!!

I must admit, the title scared me at first…who needed forgiveness???? Bradley or Gabby…what did they do to warrant it????...everything was out in the open or so I thought…that is the beauty of titles..if it is a good one, it gets your mind racing before you have even started the first page.

This is the continuation of Bradley and Gabby’s story. I love these two, they have had more than their fair share of things to overcome and this book is no exception, however, after the ending of this book their story is now complete so it will be other characters going forward. I do hope though that we can continue to read about them going forward in the up and coming books…just a few little snippets will do!!

The baby daddy saga does continue through this book, although if you have read the previous books and novella we deep down know who the daddy is but Bradley and Gabby do not. He jumps in to help Veronica which was impossibly infuriating at times but you could not help but feel for him, even though some of his choices at times had me tossing my kindle. Deep down I knew he was doing the right thing by what may or may not have been his child but I just wish it didn’t have to cause as much heart break as it did for Gabby. Ian is still loitering in the background as usual, but again I feel sorry for him too. God it is infuriating, the thing is with JB McGee is that she shows you the best and worst in every character…I even felt for Veronica at one point in the last book even though I think that she is a total b***h for putting everyone through this ridiculous charade.

Bradley and Gabby are busy planning their wedding despite what is going on with Veronica and the baby. They move in together, buy a house and Gabby is still studying so actually they don’t really see that much of each other and does begin to put pressure on their relationship. They actually seemed to see more of each other when they were long distance. A piece of Gabby’s past shows up in this book and puts some more perspective into Gabbys back story. We have lots of different POV’s in this book which was fantastic. It really helped to build the story up and a feel for all the characters that will be taking this series going forward.

We still have the build up to the wedding night and what will take place, although it is getting harder and harder for both of them. This scene was realistically written and for that I am grateful but after all the build up I would have liked it to have lasted a bit longer…I am just a sucker for this type of relationship and want to feel all that pent up want and desire release over pages and pages…it is most probably me being greedy!!!

Once again, I have loved JB McGee’s writing and I cannot wait for the next and the next and the next and anything else she cares to pen in the future. I will never tire of her incredible writing skills.

Here is a little snippet

“ Do you know your blood types?”
Bradley “I am O positive”
Ian responds “A positive and since I know you can’t tell us Veronica’s because of HIPPA, I know that she’s O positive too”
………………………………………..I nod my head and narrow my eyes at him. The sooner I can get away from him the better. She closes the chart and then as soon as she speaks, we have our answer”

Who is the daddy?????? Read it and find out!!!

Brilliant, absolutely brilliant.

First things first – we loved this book! We couldn’t wait to read it and it lived up to our expectations!

Tiffany: (bites nails) well I kind of wanted Gabby and Bradley to be having sex! I was sick of her making him wait. But it made me fall in love with Bradley even more (if that’s possible)! He definitely won major points with me in this book (like he needed any extra book boyfriend points). He was passionate, loving, and raging mad at times, and I loved every minute of it.

Benita: I liked the fact that not only did she keep her promise to her mother about sex, but Bradley helped her keep her promise. That showed the depth of his love truly, because NO MAN does that these days. LOL!

What we loved (besides Bradley of course)…
We loved that the story was written from various POV’s (we got to hear from Gabe and Sam)
We loved how J.B. McGee introduced us to Gabe (Gabby’s father). We have been wondering about this story since ‘Broken,’ so of course we were on the edge of our seats when the daddy was about to tell his side of the story. Finally we could breathe!
Benita: I was looking for him (the daddy) to have done something more egregious. But if you think about it for a small child having someone hate and blame you for something that is out of your control can be very horrific.
We loved how even though we read ‘Conspiring’ and thought for sure Ian was the father – ‘Forgiven’ made us second guess what we read and had us tied up in knots
We loved how Bradley named the baby Faith and loved her even before he knew the truth about her. And yes we had the misty eyes (I’m not saying we were crying just misty and that’s the story we sticking to). OMG but the tears really started flowing when Gabby went to meet Ian and when he started talking Faith and how they lost her (Ooops Spoiler Alert – you should have read the book by now <3).

Too Funny Moment…yes J.B. McGee has us laughing too!

Benita: It was sooo funny when Bradley called himself following her and he almost got caught when she went to his office. He had to hurry up and get in the gym and pretend he had been working out! I was on the floor laughing.

Tiffany: when the groomsman are walking down the aisle and flashing Bradley random pictures of his ex-flings…that was sooo freaking hilarious!

Catch 22 Moment…the honeymoon night.
Benita & Tiffany Agree: We were expecting Bradley to rock Gabby’s world on their wedding night, but the scene was very vanilla. We kind of thought they had better sex when they weren’t having sex (heheeeheee if you know what we mean)! But the catch 22 is that the scene was wholesome and romantic and was written perfectly for Gabby. I guess we should just keep my mind out the gutter! LOL! Besides he did tell her he would sex her down later and she would be wearing nothing but those stilettos. Did I mention we love Bradley?

J.B. McGee gave us a lot of twist in turns; laughs; near heart attacks; grab a tissue moments in ‘Forgiven.’ We got to experience the growth in Gabby as she starts to take control of her life. And even though we still think Ian is a douche, he was starting to grow on us in this book. This book is about forgiveness…and we can’t wait to find out if Sam finally forgives in her upcoming book ‘Blinded.’

Utterly amazing, heart-warming and wonderful story where every hopeless romantic reader (like me) could relate to and even fall in love again and again. This is a continuation of Bradley and Gabby's love story. The story picked-up from where "Mending" ended. Again, the author has written a great and very romantic story that kept me sighing, swooning, smiling, and at times got me teary-eyed the entire time I was reading it.

This part of the series tackled on the lives of Bradley and Gabby after they got back together and Gabby has decided to transfer school and move in with Bradley in Atlanta. Getting back together was not that easy with the issue with Veronica standing in the midst of it and "somebody" from Gabby's past has re-appeared into their lives. Again, it amazes me that Bradley has been nothing but very supportive and loving to Gabby through all of it. I have witnessed how he truly changed into a better man - he really does love Gabby. I can't help but fall in love with him even more. There were lots of scenes in the book which are really swoon-worthy. Bradley definitely has the best romantic lines ever and I highlighted all of it...hehe!

Anyway, Gabby surprises me that she has grown more mature in this book. Though there were times that her emotions are always on her sleeves and she does cry a lot but that's what makes her "Gabby". I don't want her to be anyone else. Bradley is really her soulmate because they really complement each other. They truly deserve each other. That particular scene with her Dad in the hospital got through me. Maybe because I've been through the same experience with her. I admire Gabby because she really has a forgiving heart and Bradley's support to her is admirable as well.

The story has been narrated into multiple POV's - Gabby's, Bradley's, Sam's and Gabe's. The author did a pretty amazing job with it as it has opened us into their minds. It helped me understand more on each main characters of the story. I loved that the author brought emphasis on Sam's love story as well. I couldn't wait for the rest of her story to come out though. Gosh, would she choose Joe over Ryan? Wow, this is pretty interesting. Another book to look forward to.

I agree with the author that you cannot change your past but you can use it to make your future into a better and brighter one. This is a story about forgiveness, acceptance, sacrifice and love in general.

I don't want to give away too much about the story but the wedding part is the best especially when they were reciting their vows to each other. It is definitely my favorite part of the story. I was so immersed into the story that I felt like I was there the whole time they were doing it. Another heart-melting scene....sigh! And the epilogue? WOW! I have not complaints on that. It has definitely surpassed my expectations.

I.LOVED.IT! Definitely worth more than 5 stars. It has the perfect balance of romance and angst. I must say that waiting for this book to come out is so worth it. Bradley and Gabby's story is another story that would be staying in my memory for a long time.

A.MUST.READ.

Forgiven, by J.B. McGee, is the third book in the This series. It is the continuing story of Gabby Gerhart and Bradley Banks. This novel is told from multiple perspectives. This made it more understandable, learning each of the main players feelings of what was going on in their minds. The story opens with Gabby and Bradley waking up from their, nightmare of a new obstacle, in their paths. Veronica and Ian, (two important players from book #2) come to visit with the news that either Bradley or Ian is the father of Veronica's baby. Veronica is almost due to have her baby, and Bradley takes on the responsibility of being there for her and her baby during the months before her delivery. Gabby is accepting of the situation, though at times, feels a bit of jealousy. Especially knowing that Veronica has had sex with Bradley, and she as of yet, is saving herself for her wedding night to Bradley. Bradley is very good as assuaging her fears, explaining that there time together will be both of their firsts, since he was not in love with Veronica.

In the interim, the abusive, alcoholic father, (that has reformed himself) that deserted Gabby, and Sam, (her older sister) at the age of 5 is back in the picture. Bradley has had Gabby's father investigated. He tells Sam, but they decide to keep the news from Gabby, since she can't remember her past anyway. There is a colossal misunderstanding, and the information is blasted out of Bradley's mouth during an argument. Without realizing the Pandora's Box that he has opened, the obstacles start mounting against them, and also with Gabby's relationship with her sister, Sam.

This novel was very good. The loving, caring, person that Bradley is, shines through his character. Though at times, I felt he was a bit of a Svengali, and when he didn't get his way, he was quick to punish Gabby. Bradley could be a great romantic, and bring Gabby pleasure in many ways, though they never consummated their sexual encounters, because of a promise Gabby made to her mother, now deceased.

Gabby is a strong character, though she tries to please everyone. At times, I felt she finally would show her stubborn side to prove a point, and it was necessary. Forgiven is a story of sadness, pain, hurt, redemption, love, and forgiveness. Gabby gains what she wants most in life, and that is a united family. I felt the chemistry throughout the book, but was a bit disappointed with the final consummation of their marriage. The setting was there, and it started out wonderfully, but after all the build up to the crescendo, it lacked the electricity that I found in the previous encounters throughout the novel. This was a great book, fast paced, spot on prose, well rounded characters who grew and changed with time. This is a book that you will laugh, cry, and swoon over. Forgiven is a lesson is rejuvenating the heart, and learning to give second chances. I thought there were great messages in this novel, with triumph of the spirit.

I give Forgiven, by J.B. McGee, 4 sad, longing, forgiving, loving and triumphant stars!

I've been a huge fan of "This" series from the very beginning. I've loved Bradley from the first words of Broken. This still isn't the ending to their story according to a recent announcement... I'm glad to see their story continue as I feel there was quite a bit left unresolved in this book

Forgiven was the third full book in the series. If you didn't read Conspiring which is the novella you might be slightly confused as to the events in this book.

Bradley is dealing with the issues of being torn between the woman he loves and is to be marrying and the woman who may or may not be carrying his child. Bradley's constant tug in every direction wears on his conscience heavily.

Gabby is dealing with her insecurities about everything. Her future with Bradley brings so much tension for Gabby, not knowing if he is the father of a baby that she isn't carrying truly rips her heart out. She doesn't want this baby to be his. But when Gabby is faced with her past and someone she hasn't seen in years it brings new issues. Dealing with the past becomes her main focus.

So many things happen in this book, the whirlwind romance continues to unravel very quickly whenever these two are around. Bradley and Gabby have always faced a slew of issues but this book brought on even more of them. They are supposed to be happily planning a wedding and a future and all they get socked with are doubts, insecurities and more drama! Sometimes I wondered if a HEA was even possible for them. How much can two people overcome without losing sight of the big picture.

I think that there were several loose ends that need to be explored from this book. It's all about forgiveness but Gabby's sister Sam refused to give any, and she and Gabby at slightly at odds. There is more here and I'm hoping its uncovered in the future books. I always loved Sam's devotion to Gabby through these books. She's the big sister every girl needs when faced with such a sad past. Sam has demons though she needs to deal with and that is evident in this book.

Bradley and Gabby's vows made me cry. They were touching and beautiful and so them!

I'm hoping the next book deals with some of the unresolved questions I have after reading this installment. I give 4.5 stars to Forgiven. It was a great addition to This series.

Happy Reading!

Forgiven is the third book in the ‘This’ series by JB McGee and continues the story of Bradley Banks and Gabby Gerhart.

Drama was high in Broken and Mending and the reader begins to think Bradley and Gabby are on the road to their happily ever after. However, in Forgiven new obstacles come into play between Gabby and Bradley.

I enjoyed how the author has shown Bradley’s growth throughout this series. He has come a long way from Broken, whereas I didn’t feel that Gabby’s character developed and progressed much. I felt that this story wandered from one situation to another but didn’t have a lot of progress in between. While issues that came up were resolved and the drama dealt with, it fell short in angst and suspense. The transition to each situation was not woven together smoothly and felt abrupt. Each situation was presented succinctly and resolved without a lot of the emotion that I saw in the previous books and I felt lacked a lot of emotion.

In this story, we also see many points of view from pretty much everyone. At the end, while it helped tell the story, it seemed like too much for me. I would have rather the author express what has transpired through the main characters perspective. The only point of view that added interest to me was of Sam, because you could see her “story” emerging and it was interesting to see this new spin beginning.

Forgiven has some sexy moments in Gabby and Bradley’s relationship, but overall I was a little disappointed in the result. The big moments fell a little flat. More was promised than delivered to me. After everything they had been through, I just expected more.

Overall, it was enjoyable. I still like these characters, but end up not feeling too much for Gabby. I felt the build-up for the BIG scene was more than the actual scene, and it wasn’t as steamy and amazing as I expected it to be. There were many moments to love, and if you liked the first books, you’ll want to read this too! If you like sweet love a solid message of what is meaningful and important, there is a little of that too. Forgiven was a sweet read. Give it a try! 3.5 stars

I am a HUGE Bradley and Gabby fan!! And I mean HUGE. I fell in love with them from day one and feel like their story is so heartwarming even if they do have their hard times. Even with the drama, you still feel that knock you off your feet romance that we all just dream about. Come on….how many men do you know that would give up sex for that long to be with a girl??? And especially after being a player for so long! Yeah, that’s what I thought….not many. So, yes this is a fairy tale romance in my opinion.

Forgiven picks up right where Mending leaves off. Bradley and Gabby are now engaged and everything should be looking up for them but every story has its drama and there is more to come for them. There is still that unknown answer of whose baby Veronica is carrying and also, Gabby still has issues from her past. Can this get in the way of their happily ever after. Thank goodness no, but that doesn’t mean it will be easy. In my opinion, Bradley made some STUPID mistakes. I know he thought he was doing what was best for everyone but REALLY!?! Gabby was so much more forgiving than I would have been. There was one scene(which I will not ruin for you) where I wanted to spout foul and I mean foul language at Bradley. Really Bradley… you can’t have your cake and eat it too!

As I said above, I have LOVED every book in this series so far but have to be honest and say I felt some things were missing in this one. There were scenes(some highly emotional scenes) where I felt like I needed so much more and I never had that feeling in the previous books :( That saddens me. For instance, the end, I am thinking we deserved a little more bang on the wedding night. We all have waited and waited and waited for them to finally be together and I didn’t get that wow effect. And we all know Bradley Banks can do better than that ;)

Overall, I still really enjoyed reading about how it all comes together for them and I also hope that there is more to come with Sam. I feel like we were being teased with her story and I am anxiously awaiting all the drama and angst that I think will be connected to her.

I LOVE BRADLEY!!! He is freaking AWESOME. He goes from being total rich playboy to a devoted fiance. If you have not read the first 3 books (one being a novella) you should before you go any further. I would recommend this book. So Bradley basically does whatever Gabby wants him to do so that he can prove to her that he is really committed. He does kinda screw up once but at the same time I understand why he did what he did. I would have been PISSED if I were her.
SPOILER ALERT!!! (if you have not read any part of the series)
Gabby is really kind of at the top of the cry baby list. I realize that she had a tough life in that her mother died and that is awful. At the same time she really didn't close herself off that much after that. She closed herself off when her boyfriend cheated on her...soooooooo I mean really its happened to everyone (if not the cheating then your first love breaking your heart)...I did not like Gabby at all. I think that she should have been a stronger person and honestly Bradley deserved better. There are some things that yes she should have been upset about...Veronica-yes be upset but seriously she went overboard...Timing-yes she should have questioned the timing with the Veronica problem ABSOLUTELY! My question to her: you were so distraught for 2 years over Ian but when he shows up you just let him in? You don't get mad that he was purposely manipulating you?

At the end of the day...I really did like the story. I would give this book 3.9 stars out of 5. I will probably reread this series and I do recommend it. I love Bradley and at the end of the day Gabby grows up some in Forgiven.

You did a marvelous job for the third installment of This Series. JB till the end I coundn't help myself to cry like baby for Gabby, Bradley, Sam, Gabe, Roni' Ian and lastly to Faith. My heart has been broken to many pieces finding out what happen to Gabby when she was a child and knowing that Sam witness all that. Cound't blame for Sam feeling that way towards to her own father. The feeling of hatred that slowly eats her up. its really great knowing all the side of their story. Witnessing that Ian wasn't that bad at all, feeling sorry for Roni losing faith, finding forgiveness towards to Gabe and the overflowing love between Gabby and Bradley. I'm so touched by their wedding vows, my heart ache knowing Gabby finally have her own happy ending with Bradley. On the other side oh Bradley what can I say about you? You're very persistent and loving guy. Your patience really touched to my soul, doind everything in your power to make Bradley the luckiest women alive, fighting for your love to her till death do you part. Its so amazing witnessing someone like Bradley extend his own power to have Gabby into his life.

Sam my favorite sister your happy ending is next. Definitely looking forward to it. For Bradley and Gabby whatever the situations you guys in, you proved to us that LOVE conquers all. To your happy life and the upcoming years you guys gonna spend together!! Cheers!!

You make me cry again JB but I assure you it was really a good cry. Thank you for sharing to us the story of Gabby and Bradley Banks. Their story is truly a memorable one.

This series just keeps getting better and better.

When I finished conspiring I needed to know more. I loved that it gave a perspective into the minds of Veronica and Ian. I recommend reading it before Forgiven but it's not necessary.

Forgiven took me on a journey through the craziness that was Bradley and Gabby's lives. They were both dealing with individual problems that gave the story a lot of depth.

"It's by grace, love, and forgiveness that any of us experience joy"

I particularly liked how Bradley dealt with the whole "baby momma drama". I liked that he questioned everything. A lot of times the guy just kind of takes it all at face value but not Bradley. That made me love him so much more. I SWOON for Bradley. I have a major book crush on him right now.

Gabby was stronger this time around and I really enjoyed her coming into her own. She seemed more mature to me. She was ready to tackle old ghosts and not just run away from her problems. Which was her past M.O.

I particularly liked the switch in POV's throughout the story. You really got to experience every event with each of the characters. It made you understand where they were coming from.

I am looking forward to book 3.5 Falling, Veronica and Ian's story. But I am even MORE excited about Blinded, Sam's story!!! Will we see more of Joe?? I hope so!

**Do Not Read if you have not yet read Broken / Mending / Conspiring**

Forgiven is the newest instalment in the This series by J.B. McGee. Forgiven follows Bradley and Gabby as they get ready for the next chapter of their lives. Thinking that they've overcome the obstacles created by Veronica and Ian, Bradley and Gabby realize they can't live without each other and prepare to move forward with their relationship. Unfortunately, it's not as easy as they had hoped and there are more obstacle threatening their future. Can all be Forgiven so that they can have their happily ever after??

Forgiven has some fab twists and turns that kept the story very interesting and kept me flipping the pages to find out what happened next. I really didn't expect the storyline to head in the direction it did, but WOW! Loved it! For those of you who enjoyed the Veronica/Ian storyline, you will not be disappointed. I wonder if we will see more of them in the future as there seems to be a lot more of their story that needs to be told.

I really enjoy the This series by J.B. McGee and Forgiven was just as fab as Broken, Mending and Conspiring. If you're looking for a really lovely read with a little angst and some great sexual tension, a read that will leave your heart happy. Look no further :-)
