Full of lovely colour photos and illustrations. The text is pretty easy to understand and it provides a lovely overview of ancient Egypt. I particularly liked the timeline of the Pharaohs at the beginning of the book and the pull-out map of the cities in the back!

This book gives a short overview of history through the Ptolemaic dynasty and a little about the religion and life in ancient Egypt. The text is not overwhelming, but the pictures are great. Most of the book is filled with beautiful color pictures of the important monuments and temples along with drawings of what they might have looked like when new.
