A dark beginning leads to a new twist in the vampire genre. This is not a romance but a young girls survival.
Some readers may find the opening chapters disturbing.
Join Callie in her fight to save her soul mate and the new society she has become part of from demons and a master vampire intent on controlling her. With a little help from a few witches, shape shifters and a bit of luck can she actually get a little normality in her 'un-life'?
Everybody loves her. They just can't help themselves.
From a disturbing beginning to a well-spun story that captured me from the start, Ms Chapman's tale of Callie certainly captivates.
Callie herself is easy to relate to, but she's upstaged by Sidney on occasion, as supporting character Sidney injects refreshingly funny repartee into some of the more serious scenes.
Lucien, the energetic demon, will forever keep me wondering - Ms Chapman describes him so vividly that I could almost see him in my mind's eye. A disturbing demon indeed.
My biggest issue was that there were a couple of scenes that made me blush - I don't recommend reading these in the lunch room at work unless you want people to think you're reading Fifty Shades.
Overall, well worth a read - Callie is one of those characters you can't help but love.
I've been reading "Callie" since J.T. Chapman was serializing the draft on Wattpad. This book is a feast for all the Vampire lovers out there. I was fascinated by J T Chapman's writing and I can't wait to read the other books.
I liked this book, but I an not a fan of Callie or Sam, the reason I like this book is because I am fond of some of the other characters like Adie, Sidney, Chris, Irene, Lucien, Nico, Brian!!!! I will still read the other 2 books when they come out though.
