Book two in the Prophecies of Angels and Demons Trilogy
What if everything you knew was a lie?
It’s been a busy summer. Things are heating up in Allie’s relationship with Simon and college is just on the horizon, but when school starts, so do all her problems.
Just when she’s ready to set off for college, a man from her past returns to stir up trouble, then students on campus start turning up dead. Worst of all, Simon’s been keeping late hours at work. Is it trouble in paradise, or can he be trusted?
The more Allie learns about her past, the more secrets there are to unravel.
After uncovering a prophecy foretelling the end of life as she knows it, she'll need to rely on the help of a few unlikely allies to solve a mystery that may lead to the ultimate sacrifice.
If that weren't enough, Gabriel has found himself in hot water, but friends willing to come to his aid are in short supply. Perhaps keeping everyone at arm's length for eternity wasn't the best plan after all.
Grave Prophecies is a dark urban fantasy story, recommended for 18+ due to mature content.
Cassandra Aston writes dark fantasy and romantasy packed with dangerous magic, court intrigue, sharp banter, and love that would burn the world before it lets go. Her stories feature morally gray men, stabby heroines, and brutal choices with consequences that bite.
She is the award-winning author of the completed Prophecies of Angels and Demons series and the Deadly Fae saga. She is currently expanding her interconnected universes with new fae stories, villain-led retellings, and gothic standalones that lean darker, sharper, and more emotionally ruinous.
When she can, she escapes to a cozy mountain cottage to write, fueled by hot chocolate and spite, and she believes there is only one rule that truly matters: love fiercely.

I thought I was obsessed with this series before. I don't know what comes after "obsessed" because that's where I'm at--I LOVED this one.
Allie is preparing to go off to college and get out of her small town in North Carolina. She’s got Simon, her *amazing* boyfriend there to support her, and her wonderful housekeeper Rhea to keep things in order. But of course, life finds a way to make everything suck, and her past comes back to haunt her, while threatening to ruin everything. Allie must learn the truth of who she is and come into her power to not just save herself, but save Gabriel (yes, the angel!), Simon, and quite literally the world.
I love Allie, Rebecca, and Simon so much. We need to throw Simon up with the top tier Bookstagram/booktok boyfriends IMMEDIATELY. The angels are some of my favorite characters ever written, and I LOVED the way Gabriel was developed! The jury is still out on how I feel about him and the rest of the angels.
I literally had no clue where we were going with this one, and I loved it! I had to dig deep to my Catholic CCD days to remember some of my religious history, and it all worked so well together. I can’t wait for everyone to read it when it comes out, because I think this is going to be my personality for the next year. I'm definitely going to be thinking about that epilogue for a while and WHAT DOES IT MEAN.
Read if you love: 🗡️ Angels and Demons 🗡️ Witches and Magic 🗡️ Mythology 🗡️ Found Family 🗡️ Women Kicking Ass 🗡️ And if you LOVED Supernatural, Buffy, Angel, or Charmed!
Thank you so much Cassandra for absolutely breaking me with this one with an ARC early so I can recover in time to help everyone else through it on release day!
Buckle up and prepare yourself because book 2 takes you for a freaking ride!!!! There is so much going on in this book!! We have more spice, more action, and more magic!! I absolutely loved this book so much. The witty banter between Allie and Simon and the tension was great. I really enjoyed watching Allie come into and learn about magic and being a witch. This book is a multi pov, with a lot of twists and turns and plot twists that I didn't see coming, and it kept me captivated the entire time. I can't wait for book 3!
The second book in the Prophecies of Angels and Demons series takes the story to new heights. Seriously, wow - this one turned the action up to eleven! Compared to the first book, this one presents a more intricate and action-packed narrative. The time jump between the first and second books adds an interesting dimension to the relationship between Simon and Allie, who get to know each other again. However, the return of a figure from Allie's past and mysterious deaths on Allie's new college campus ratchet up the tension. The complexity of the plot is heightened, and the stakes are raised as Allie uncovers more secrets about her past.
I also like the secondary characters and the increased magic. I enjoyed the scattered chapters with Gabriel's point of view. It provides insight into his situation and creates a TON of intrigue about elements happening in the background. While I didn't really bond with Rebecca in the previous book, she won me over this time. I do like the exploration of life experiences and memories yielding certain personality traits, even while sharing the same body. I did really miss Simon through much of this book; he felt more like a secondary character this time sadly.
I absolutely prefer urban fantasy to have this elevated degree of depth. I was really engaged. It felt wholly separate from the almost cozy gothic-esque setting of the first one. This is a thrilling and action-packed urban fantasy with heightened stakes, intricate world-building, and well-developed characters. The evolution of the story from the first book is evident, creating a sense of anticipation for the next installment in the series.
Thanks to R&R Booktours for the copy. All opinions are my own.
Thank you to the author for an advanced copy of this in exchange for my honest review!
So, I also had an ARC for Grave Secrets (book 1) & I ended up loving it -- this was no different! I was so happy to be back with Allie & Simon. Overall, this was really fun. We found Allie heading off to college, but what secrets await her? I enjoyed the introduction of new characters, & it was written very seamlessly as a continuation of book 1.
The pacing is great & its very easy to read. The twists & turns kept me on my toes. And that cliffhanger?! 🤯 I'm ready for the next book already.
Starting off right we end in book one this book is packed with battles, mysteries and a race to end the curse!
I love the characters in this series & the amount of pain and love they carry for each other. But this new little side character/twist/secret!! I HAVE to know what’s next!!
I was so excited to receive this ARC, this book will be released in February!
OH MY! This book had me on the edge of my seat for the whole story. The whole book was amazing and filled with suspense. I couldn’t get enough. I loved the whole book from cover to cover. Cassandra, thank you again for another awesome book. This was a fantastic read and I couldn’t get enough.
What a roller coaster of a book. the second book 2 if possible is even better than the book! With this book much much more!! I would say more action and more Magic!! What more could you want?? I absolutely loved this book, le banter between Allie and Simon and their tension was something absolutely unique that kept me wanting more and more. How wonderful to see what Allie becomes without giving away spoilers . This book contains multi pov, with so many twists of all kinds even the ones that make you amazed. Believe me I couldn't tear myself away from the pages. Now I wish I had the third book in my hands like now. Rating 5⭐
4.5. Again, a great story with a devastating ending!
I loved this one even more than book one. I was worried about middle book syndrome, but the plot did not slow here at all. Aston does it again with amazing action, gripping emotional conflict, and an ending that left me, in a word, gagged. I loved seeing characters, new and old, come together to try to defeat evil. I also loved how some of the characters tried to live a normal life for a while— I think that’s an aspect of urban fantasy that authors often ignore, but Aston handles it amazingly. The changing povs provided so much context to the overall story, and seeing things from a certain character’s perspective helped me understand him so much. Overall, I’d recommend the POAAD series to fans of urban fantasy.

This was such a fantastic continuation of this series! I loved being back in this world with these characters (especially Simon), & I think I loved this even more than I loved Book 1. We pick up pretty much right where we leave off in Book 1, & the action starts immediately & doesn’t stop. This book was a wild ride from start to finish, & I loved every second of it. Cassandra really delivers a captivating, magical, & suspenseful reading experience with this one & I couldn’t put it down! I loved the Multi-POV as well & thought it added a lot of depth to the story & the characters (I freaking loved being in Gabriel’s mind!).
We are back with Allie & Simon as Allie is off to college &…. Things don’t go quite as planned & it gets kind of crazy. It was so inspiring to see Allie/Rebecca learn more about being a witch & her magic when things start to go down, & I loved all the little mishaps along the way! Simon continues to be a top tier book boyfriend. I seriously just love him so much & the love he has for Allie/Rebecca is so pure. I loved the addition of Sophia & I loved that this book had a nice focus on friendship, as well as plot & romance. I also loved that this book was much more plot focused & action packed, & really revolved around character development & setting up for the next book!
I absolutely love this series so much! It’s the perfect read during spooky season and has amazing spooky season and witchy vibes. I cannot recommend it enough! It has twists and turns and betrayals and secrets, and will literally leave you awake at 4am with your mind blown. It has a wonderful blend of plot, fantasy, romance, suspense, mystery, and magic and it is a must read for fantasy romance readers!

Grave Prophecies is the second book in Aston's Prophecies of Angels and Demons series. This fantasy story picks up where Grave Secrets (book 1) left off.
Allie is living in her family's estate in North Carolina with Rhea, a woman she met 3 months prior but who has become very important in her life. She's dating Simon, and gearing up to start college in Boston. Understandably she's both nervous and excited.
When Rhea is mysteriously hurt, Allie considers staying home to take care of her, but Simon assures Allie that he will arrange home care for Rhea and encourages her to go.
When she gets to Boston, life gets turned upside down. Allie meets another student named Sophia who has an unexpected physical effect on Allie leading Simon to explain that Sophia is a powerful witch. That opens the door to questions about the supernatural and while Simon wants to explain everything to her, there are some things she cannot know. In addition, classes are cancelled as students are being murdered. Oh, and Detective Jason Blake seems to have tracked her down again and continues to harass her. It's not a great start to the school year.
I absolutely adored the first book, but as it had been many months since I had read it, it took me awhile to remember where things left off. This book felt very different from the first. Alongside some of the characters we met in the first book, there were new ones added to the mix. We learn more about the past, as well as a little about the future. This book is packed with intrigue and action.
While Simon remains a pivotal character in Allie's life, I throroughly appreciated Aston's addition of Sophia and everything she brought to the story. I enjoyed Allie's "awakening" and how her character continued to evolve and grow.
As expected, the books leaves off with a cliffhanger. What comes next? Anything is possible. Grave Revelations is expected at the end of the year. I'm definitely looking forward to reading it and discovering how Aston plans to wrap up this captivating series.
Prepare yourself for a wild ride with Grave Prophecies: Book 2 in the Prophecies of Angels and Demons by Cassandra Aston. This book is an absolute whirlwind of magic, action, and intrigue that had me completely captivated from beginning to end. The witty banter between the characters, especially Allie and Simon, added a fun dynamic to the story that I thoroughly enjoyed.
As Allie navigates the challenges of her newfound powers and the looming threat that could endanger everything she holds dear, the plot twists and turns kept me on the edge of my seat. The multi POV narrative gave depth to the characters and allowed for unexpected surprises that kept me guessing.
The development of characters like Allie, Rebecca, and Simon is truly remarkable, and I couldn't help but root for them every step of the way. The angels in the story are some of the most captivating and intriguing characters I have come across, especially Gabriel, whose complexity added an extra layer of depth to the narrative.
The seamless integration of mythology, angels, demons, and magic created a rich and immersive world that I couldn't get enough of. As a fan of Supernatural, Buffy, Angel, and Charmed, this book ticked all the boxes for me and left me eagerly awaiting the next installment.
Cassandra Aston has crafted a phenomenal story that blends elements of fantasy, adventure, and found family dynamics seamlessly. I was completely absorbed in the world she created and the characters she brought to life. The epilogue left me reeling and desperate for more, and I cannot wait to see where the story goes next in Book 3.
If you love stories featuring angels, demons, witches, mythology, powerful women, and intricate plot twists, Grave Prophecies is a must-read. Thank you, Cassandra, for this exhilarating and captivating read that had me hooked from start to finish. I am eagerly counting down the days until the release of Book 3!
After the ending of Grave Secrets and knowing that there's way more to this story, I thought I would be better prepared for how this book ended and I WAS NOT PREPARED! I was absolutely glued to this book for the last 60 or so pages and I nearly shrieked when it ended. ajfloajflajflajflaj! It was like a bomb went off with characters revealing secrets and completely changing the direction of where I thought everything was going.
Simon continues to be one of my favorite book boyfriends, loving every single version of Rebecca/Allie throughout time and doing whatever it takes to keep her alive. I loved the beginning of the book because it did give him and Allie a chance to be relatively normal, to go on dates and just be together. Even when some of his secrets start to be revealed and he gets pushed away, he never stops trying to help and he drops everything at the drop of a hat to come when Rebecca/Allie calls. For Rebecca/Allie (not to get too spoilerly), I'm honestly torn. I love the Allie that was a reash and I despair a little bit that she may never make it back. Rebecca is just so dominant and almost doesn't seem to absorb any personality traits from her past selves. She is who she is. This book allowed me to see Rebecca in a different light, although it was a little painful at times. She is too trusting, adventurous, strong willed, independent, and fragile. A mix of contradictions. The scene between her and Simon at the end of the battle nearly broke me.
I loved that Rebecca/Allie got to explore her magic more and it was funny that there were so many mishaps along the way. The discovery of other witches and covens added a new layer, along with the demon plane (primoria). There were quite a few characters that I didn't quite trust and even though they seem to be good, I'm still a little suspicious. Being inside Gabriel's head was fascinating. One line jumped out at me and it definitely started sirens in my head, thinking, "What do you mean by that Gabriel?!?" If that's going where I think it's going....I mean, my jaw would be on the floor.
I absolutely cannot wait for book 3!
Thank you to the author for allowing me to be an ARC reader. I am leaving this review voluntarily.
The cover photo of the book is absolutely gorgeous and I was totally attracted to it. I knew that I had to read this book and I am glad that I did. This is book 2 in The Prophecies of Angels and Demons Trilogy.
It is a rollercoaster ride of action and adventure filled with magic. It was captivating to see Rebecca/Allie delve deeper into her magical abilities, and the numerous misadventures along the journey added a touch of humor. Unveiling the existence of other witches and covens introduced an intriguing dimension, as did the enigmatic demon realm of Primoria. Several characters sparked a sense of mistrust, and despite appearances, my suspicions linger. The opportunity to peer into Gabriel's thoughts was truly engrossing.
The writing skills of the author are flawless and I was engaged throughout the book without getting bored. Through her Captivating writing style I could visualise the whole world building in front of me. I will highly recommend this book. Grab your copy today and don't miss the fun.
Grave Prophecies is a great continuation from Grave Secrets. Cassandra doesn't miss a beat! Thank you for sending me an ARC and allowing me to be a part of your street team!
Cassandra does a fantastic job of showing us throughout the book what is happening with everyone. The transitions felt flawless and very smooth. We are still left with a lot of questions that I can't wait to see answered in the next book. She gets us with her cliffhanger endings yet again!
Rebecca is at it again with her jealous tendencies and you just love to want to smack her upside the head sometimes. WOMAN. How can you always be mad at someone like Simon. I mean, I'll take him off your hands for you if you want ;)
We get introduced to some new characters that are going to play a big role in the books, we're learning even more about Rebecca/Allie, and you're left dying to know what's going to happen to everyone, especially Gabriel.
Thank you for another well written, mysterious urban fantasy!
So I really enjoyed book 1, but book 2?! Wow! There is so much new stuff added in that just made me fall even more in love with this series! This book lets us see a new side to the FMC and MMC. It is less romance, but thats okay cause the plot is top notch!! LOVED IT!!
This Fantasy Romance is Book 2 in an amazing series that keeps getting better, and better! Continuing the story where book 1 left off. The romance is this book is more of a heart ache, rather than heart racing. Previous foreshadowing comes to light, while adding in more unexpected twists and turns. The story is very complex, even though it is less complex as the previous book as most of the world building was done in book 1. The book moves quickly, adding more excitement as the book continues. Leaving you on your toes until the last page. The book introduces new characters adding more depth to the story.
Allie has completed her sentence and is no longer a Reash and therefore the last six years of her memories have been erased. Gabriel is being penalized for intervening a demonic attack on Allie. Simon is now a Reash and is tasked with protecting Allie, but things get complicated as he keeps triggering her memories.
In "Grave Prophecies" the narrative delves deeper into Allie's upbringing and her experiences in the foster care system. We get to see more from Rebecca and how her lives have intertwined with Simon and Gabriel.
There is more to go Rebecca's curse and how it originated. Allie's past is coming back to haunt her. For the first time in her existence Rebecca is finally learning what it means to be a witch thanks to her new friend Sophia.
I can't wait to dive into "Light" so I can learn more about Gabe's story.
Ooh that ending! So Allie is back without her memories and dating her ‘new’ boyfriend Simon! He thinks that by keeping her memories locked away, the curse will not affect Allie and so she will not die before her 25th birthday. However, while blissfully unaware and soon to be starting college, things don’t go according to Simon’s plan. When Allie meets Sophie, a water witch, she unlocks Allie’s memories thinking Simon is up to no good. Allie now Rebecca again spends most of the book avoiding Simon and trying to track down Elizabeth with the help of Sophie. I think I like Allie’s personality better. I know they are the same person however I didn’t think Rebecca came into her own until the end of the book. As for Simon, what has become of him? And is Gabriel good or evil? More questions than answers but with Rebecca’s full powers unlocked the next book should prove to be an ass kicker!
I absolutely LOVED the first book, so I had high hopes going into the second one. Allie is ready to get her life started now that she’s no longer slaying the demons. She wants to leave North Carolina and start college. But of course, that would be too easy. As Allie is getting use to the college campus, people start dying, and her roommate is a witch. Allie starts to learn the magic as well. There’s a lot more of Simon and Allie, but he is still forbidden to give Allie ALL the information. The angel Gabriel gets his point of view in a few chapters, and that definitely added to the depth of the story line. The cliffhanger has you ready for book 3, I can’t wait for that one. I loved that Cassandra started book two flowing from the ending of book one.
Grave Prophecies was so GOOD!! It keeps the series going with no slump. There are more surprises, new characters (a whole covens worth), and Gabriel is missing! Rebecca is in her independence era. She’s going off to college and when things start to get dicey, she decides She is going to “be her own hero.” Simon remains steadfast in his devotion to her throughout.
The magic, the history and the plot twists keep coming. I absolutely loved the Greek history that was woven into the story. The ending was intense, Cassandra threw us off a cliff! I can not wait to read the conclusion to this trilogy. I have absolutely loved it!
I honestly can’t even form proper words right now. I’m trying not spoil ANYTHING.
Grave secrets (first book) was a wonderful start to setting up what happens in Grave Prophecies. There was always something happening, but it didn’t feel like the author was throwing things in there for the sake of it. It fit and really put the story together. I can NOT wait for the next book. This has been amazing and I’m so curious what’s going to happen because if THAT ENDING?! AND EPILOGUE??
This series is becoming my roman Empire. I enjoyed this book so much. It moved at a faster pace than the first book and there are more revelations that A. made me go what the heck!? and B. left me with more questions and I am creating theories for the next book.
We follow Simon and Allie again as they kind of both kind of have a fresh start. Allie's memories are wiped clean and she meets Simon again but he is different now with a new job and Boss. This is one of the cases where I can see miscommunication being well played out since Simon is literally gagged when he mentions certain trigger words like Demon's and Angels. I like the addition of Sophia and her Coven and Allie leaning more about her abilities as a witch.
Ok. here is the thing that is my roman Empire.
Spoilers.
Simon loves Rebecca but he also is in love with Allie to me they are two different people. They have completely different personalities. So..... did Simon technician cheat on Rebecca? It was still her? what happens to Allie when Rebecca returns? There is another Grave ancestor ? Gabriel saved Allie for a reason? I like Allie a lot more than Rebecca but we will see what happens and OMG Gabriel! I need his back story asap. I have so many questions.
Overall I loved this book. The author left several bread crumbs and masterfully built a complex world where not everyone is good and makes mistakes. This is building towards something BIG and I am looking forward to it. I am rooting for Simon right now I feel he has been put through a lot for Rebecca and the Graves Family.
This book and its giant net of mystery, twists, turns and revelations has me so gripped in. Absolutely love the multiple POV so we can get all these pieces of the story and puzzle them together at the end and even if we are still not quite to the full picture just yet, it’s like we have all of the edge pieces in place!
The characters are all so dynamic and bring forth emotional reactions. I like how everyone has a unique sort of chemistry to how they interact with each other.
Grave Secrets melded into Grave Prophecies perfectly. I enjoyed following the journey of Allie, Simon, and Rebecca. I have come to love the new characters that have been introduced and the original ones that created the first amazing story.
There is a great balance between the present story and what is going to happen next. The twists and turns kept me on my toes up until the ending.
If you enjoy mystery, darkness, covens, and good versus evil you have met your next favorite book.
This was such a fun read, it's was nicely paced with lots going on. This book continues on from book 1, and we see Allie off to college, but things don't go to plan.
Packed with secrets and betrayals, this book is action-packed, thrilling, and highly emotional. So grab your tissues.
I love the characters in this series. They are truly the heart of it. I preferred Allie to Rebecca in book 1, but she kinda grew on me in this book.
And with that cliffhanger ending, it left me wondering what's next.
Well, that was a wild ride. I absolutely loved this book. So many things came to light in Rebecca's story, and I'm in total shock. That ending left me with more questions than I originally had, and I can't wait to see what happens next! I highly recommend this series. If you haven't read Grave Secrets, do so immediately so you can dive into this one!
*I was provided an ARC of this book from this author in exchange for an honest review*
I liked this book even better than the first! I feel like the first set the stage for the theme and characters in the story, but this one expanded more and showed the 'bigger picture' plot. I thought it was incredibly interesting in how the POVs were handled, which usually I don't like books with multiple POVs because they are difficult to keep track of. The cliffhanger was also fantastic!
Stop what you’re doing right now and go read this series!!! Grave Prophecies was everything and more for the 2nd book in the Prophecies of Angels and Demons series!
I was definitely not ready for that ending!!! OMG!!! I loved jumping right back into Simon and Allie/Rebeccas story!! I felt so many emotions while on this wild ride and let me tell you… I CANNOT wait for book 3!

Grave Prophecies is a dark urban fantasy story, recommended for 18+ due to mature content.
All I can say is wow! Cassandra Aston waved her magic wand and upped the stakes with this one! There was so much more magic and adventure than book one. The writing was impeccable. Their is a more intricated and action-packed narrative. The storyline and plot were out of this world perfect.
I love how we learn more about Allie and her past. I love that Allie learns more about herself and connects with Rebecca. Rebecca is the more dominant one. She is strong-willed, independent, fragile, adventurous, and, in my opinion, too trusting. Simon continues to amaze me and how he does anything for his love over lifetimes Rebecca/Allie. I love reading his pov and wish he were more center in the book. I loved reading Gabriel's pov because we got to hear about what he is going through and details about his problem.
This book had so much more depth. The complexity of the plot is heightened even more than book one. It was definitely more adventurous. There were so many secrets revealed that I was dying for book three. Cassandra leaves you on a cliffhanger wanting more. If you love dark family secrets, angels, demons, witches, covens, found family, magic, romance that transcends time, Gothic cozy vibes, and hidden powers this book is for you. Now, if you will all excuse me with all the food mentions in this book, I need to go make chicken and waffles.
