What the fuck did I just read?!



I have read many different werewolf-books, but this? This is just weird!

It’s not that it reminded me on many points of Twilight in the whole imprinted area (and there’s a lot more, but I’m too tired to point them out, soo..). Neither is it the fact, that she practically jumped him the first time she saw him. Okay, she was drunk, but no one would jump a complete stranger in a dark alley behind a club, no matter how much you’ve had to drink.


Getting to her knees she crawled over to him and straddled his lap, her shirt inching up her thighs. "I know we just met, but I want this. I want you." She pressed her palms flat against his chest and felt the strong muscle underneath. "No obligations, no commitments.


It’s an unwritten law, or something. Nor is it that they had sex or just foreplay four times throught the book and it was 53 pages long! It’s not that I mind sexscenes or anything, but the way they were described…


Spreading her pussy lips wide, his tongue circled her quivering opening. (…) He thrust his tongue into her tight virgin pussy.

It’s the fact that she suddenly thinks she’s BFF’s with a wolf. Has she got no friends, or what? Well, you should think no, but she actually does, but noooo she can’t talk to them about all her private stuff. She runs to her little wolfie-boy out in the forest.

I’m just imagining her being like:

It’s freezing outside? Fuck it

A hurricane is coming? I need the fresh air

A snowstorm is in full swing? I love snow!



Woman is obsessed.

And what about Ian/wolf/shifter…

What is going on with him? He’s like a girl who can’t decide. “I must… but I can’t…. But I have to… But what about…”

Seriously, when it’s something as “serious” as telling your lover you’re a shifter, I think you might have to man up. And have you seriously held back for 10 years?! Your balls must be blue by now..

And the ending? Man, it was like the author was sitting down writing, and suddenly looked down at how many pages she had already written, and thought, “Fuck, it’ll have to be under 55 pages long!” and just put and ending in like BAAM! It’s an ending which finds place in what would normally fill one quarter a book. The whole content of this book, was so hurried, you didn’t even get to blink before something new was happening. I’ve read a book like that before where it worked – but it was about 100 pages, and not 54.

3 1/2 stars Ian has been looking after Adrianna since she was nine but Adrianna only knows Ian as the wolf who saved her. As she's grown over the years she's told her wolf everything. One day at a club Adrianna see's a man who has been watching her and decides she will go ask him why he keeps staring from that point on Adrianna feels drawn to Ian and they begin a relationship. But Ian has to find a way to tell Adrianna she is his mate and that he is a werewolf and to top it off he has to control himself around her so she doesn't get hurt. This was a pretty good story, I loved that Ian has watched Adrianna grown and has loved and protected her for ten years and I loved the possessives Ian felt. I only wish this could have been longer. When I still has around 27% I turned the page and the story was done. I don't mind having excerpts of other books at the end but I was a little upset when I thought I was going to be getting more of a story when I really got a lot of excerpts for other books, especially for the price.

WTF did I just read...???

J’avoue que le titre fait bien rire, enfin surtout la partie "engrossée" qui porte à confusion. Mais bon comme je voulais lire un truc court pour me changer l’esprit, j’ai pris les premiers qui me sont tombés sous la main… Et comme je suis une fana de Psi-Changeling, que La meute du Phénix m’a bien plu, je suis à fond dans les histoires de métamorphes *o*

Il y a un effort de l’auteur pour créer un univers qui lui est propre et de mettre un semblant d’intrigue dedans : une jeune fille qui est "destinée" à un métamorphe et qui ne le sait pas encore. Il faut dire qu’au bout de deux pages, on se rend compte tout de suite qu’il y a quelque chose de pas net chez Ian mais aussi chez Adrianna. J’essaye de pas trop en dire sinon il n’y aura plus de surprises à la lecture…

Enfin bref, si on passe outre les erreurs de traduction, on passe une bonne petite demie heure à lire une nouvelle érotique. Simple, fluide et qui va droit au but, ce n’est pas aussi crû que ça aurait pu l’être. Ce n’est pas de la grande littérature, mais que demander de plus ?! C’est une petite nouvelle de 46 pages ! Apparemment il y aura une suite mais je vous en dirais plus quand je mettrais la main dessus ;)

WTF did I just read ?!

OK j'explique mon choix de lecture. Au début je me suis dis que le titre français donnait pas justice au résumé (ouais j'avais vu que le nom alternatif du bouquin c'est à dire "Her Wolf, her protector" et pas "Claimed and bred by the wolf"), puis plus j'ai avancé dans ma lecture plus j'ai compris le délire. Ce bouquin est digne d'un porno amateur. On ajoute une touche de Bit-Lit, une pseudo trame, 90% de scènes de sexe, on agite le tout (sans mauvais jeux de mot, [ou si]) et on obtient cette chose.

D'ailleurs je comprends toujours pas le titre. Certes, le héros parle une ou deux fois d'"engrosser" (je trouve ce terme vraiment de mauvais goût soit dit en passant) l’héroïne mais on en entend plus parler par la suite. Je finirais en me demandant, au vu des autres notes, si la traduction du titre est aussi mauvaise que celle du livre, et si en vrai cette nouvelle n'est pas une perle (?). Mystère.

Fantastic! This story blends the supernatural, a mystery man, and a long time friendship between a woman and her wolf very well. This story is a nice foundation to a longer series. I hope there's more to come for our heroine and a werewolf lover that legends are made of.

The scenes were nice and steamy, but with a lot of short stories, I find the plot lacking. The characters weren't too developed due to the length of the book. It was still a nice enjoyable read though.
