Escape into a magical world of magic and mystery in this complete 12-book paranormal cozy mystery series.
Holly’s stuck in a haunted halfway house with nowhere to go but up...
At least, that’s the hope.
Her penchant for potion work gets her expelled from the magical community and placed on paranormal probation in a small town on the Washington coast. She's got a lot on her plate with a ghost landlady, a warring shifter, and vampire roommates.
Seeking redemption—and maybe a friend or two—Holly throws herself into her job at the local coffeehouse. All is going according to plan, until her boss is found murdered, and Holly’s only real friend lands at the top of the suspect list.
Holly will have to pull out all her magic stops to get to the bottom of the investigation, and with a paranormal PI on her tail, using her powers is riskier than ever.
With one wrong move, she might find herself permanently banished, but then, maybe home is where the haunt is, after all.
This boxed set contains the complete Beechwood Harbor Magic Mysteries series. Escape reality with these whimsical mystery novels, full of magic, secrets, found family, and a splash of sweet romance.
Wow. It’s such a change to see the Holly from the beginning of the series to who she becomes as the author brings it all to a close. From someone frightened and a little secretive to an absolute avenging angel in defense of the people she cares about. It was also fascinating to see how all her relationships developed over the course of the series, too. I love where the final book leaves our intrepid heroes, but I'm so glad to know that the author hasn’t finished telling us all the stories about Beechwood Harbor just yet and we may get to check back in on our favorites from the original cast.
I have individual comments about each book listed below, but overall I felt like the series started out really strongly and just tapered out. It almost seemed like the author was getting bored with her own world And I know I for sure was. I'm still upset that Holly didn't get together with Nick. I feel like that was an injustice. I'm going to give the entire series three stars.
Book one: That was a cute read. I really enjoyed a lot about this book and don't have really anything negative to say about it.
Book two: Another really cute book. I'm sure Nick and Holly are end game but man I really like her with Adam. They're just so cute together.
Book three: I'm really enjoying the series so far. I am hoping that the next book has a little less murder I feel like we've gotten a lot of that. I also would like to have a little bit more time with Nick or some of the other characters. I originally really liked Holly and Adam's relationship but I feel like it's becoming a little stilted and predictable and his constant eating as a joke is just kind of getting old. I just feel like Adam should be with somebody that is all right with the chill lifestyle that he wants like a hippie foodie or something like that. Nick and Holly definitely seem like a better pair.
Book four: another cute book
Book five: cute read. Starting to get a little bored with it though.
Book six: okay how many dead bodies can one series have? I feel like if I was reading a murder mystery series or was reading a book about detectives. Then the amount of dead bodies would make sense, but I don't know why this seems to be the only conflict our author can write about. .
Book seven: All right, I'm just skimming these books at this point. They're just getting boring and monotonous the same things happening over and over again and Holly is very clearly not going to get together with Nick who I wanted to be endgame. I'm not really quite sure what the appeal of Adam is. I feel like there's a lot more that she could have done with Nick like hiding his knowing about supernaturals or getting him some sort of leniency or whatever. Basically anything other than another murder mystery. I may or may not read the next book.
Book 8, 9, 10, and 11: skipped
Book 12: You could tell that the author was getting bored with her own story. She really should have cut this down to about like six books. I feel like 12 was a little over ambitious for the few things that actually happened throughout the series. I'm also still really salty that she didn't have Holly end up with Nick and instead had her mary and have a kid with Adam. I just felt like Adam was a really boring partner and didn't really add much other than being her cheerleader.
This is a good storyline for all ages. There is lots of fun and humor throughout the series and I really hope to see everyone in cross over books.
I began reading these stories based on a recommendation and I decided to check it out with the first three books in a box set. I never intended to finish the series because I was just curious and here I am over a year later having finished all the authors books except one. I can put these on to play and don’t have to worry about what kids are hearing because the content doesn’t have any sexually explicit content. Sure, but might have been mentioned in a roundabout way. I won’t say to be careful or you’ll get swept into them because I want you to enjoy them as much as we did. This is why I tried to keep spoilers out of this review. We follow the main character Holly from the magical world known as the Seattle Haven into exile in the normal non magical world. She finds herself at a halfway house for supernaturals. It isn’t long before she’s knee deep in trouble and we get the benefit of a good story. We see Holly evolving from the start and gaining allies she never thought she would have in her life. I will add a spoiler here. Having a dumpster diving dog shifter and vampire roommate must be interesting. Oh, what about Gargoyles?
This is a very simple storyline to follow. Each book flows without any gaps or loss of the storyline. I liked this author because there is no sex which means the kids enjoy it.
With each new book in the series we continue to see the characters grow throughout the story. The author does a great job dealing with the tough conversation about wanting to protect someone, but let them go before their desire to explore is sniffed out. We have a storyline which maintained its continuity and spoiler when I read the next series it crossed over into this one with any issues.
When I reached the last book having listened to this series on Audible and now read it on the Kindle it was sad to say goodbye again. However, they’ll be back in the other series by this author. The author does a really good job with series crossovers.
It’s also nice there are no sex scenes so the kids can enjoy it and not have ‘roll their eyes moments’. One day they’ll learn.
When I was listening to the book through Audible I didn’t get Holly and Adams' relationship at times, but my partner got it. She told me to lighten up and I kept that in mind while reading this on the Kindle. I can see her point that they do go well together.
At the very end we see everything changes which is good! The story ends with a glimpse of the future and maybe a future book?
Whew! 2573 pages!! One of my favorite authors. I enjoyed reading the series straight through. I might have missed a few novellas but it wasn't major. Each story was well done and I enjoyed the characters. I'm ready for another Danielle Garrett reading marathon!
Amazon synopsis: Holly’s stuck in a haunted halfway house with nowhere to go but up...
At least, that's the hope. Following a slight misunderstanding with magical law enforcement, Holly winds up expelled from the hidden supernatural community known as the Seattle Haven. Her parole office dumps her in a tiny beach town with nothing but her feline familiar, a suitcase, and a warning that this is her last shot.
Holly doesn't think she’s cut out for life in the human world, but when stuck between a prison cell and a haunted halfway house, she decides to take option B.
Things start out better than expected, and she even manages to make a few friends, but when her boss at the local coffee house is found dead in an alley, she quickly gets tangled up in the investigation, and might have to blow her magical cover to prove her friend’s innocence.
Add to that a fussy ghost landlady, warring vampire and shifter housemates, and her rapidly dwindling savings, and Holly is beginning to wonder if she might have been better off serving that prison sentence after all.
Come hex or high water, Holly will do what it takes to get to the bottom of this murder, even if it means permanent banishment from the magical world.

Beechwood Harbor Magic series books 1-12( A RECOMMENDED READ)
Overall, a great read! There was humor, angst, sadness, surprise, and joy within the series. Holly, the main character, had a lot to learn but a lot to offer at the same time, Nick, all around great guys, who ended up being clawed by a werewolf, forever changing Nick’s life. Adam, a shifter who left many envious of his high metabolism . Posy, a century old ghost who once owned the manor, was a riot when upset. Lacey, princess of darkness according to Adam, was an unexpected and unusual vampire? Evangeline, a former soap star, later opened a spa in beechwood. She, too,is a witch. Harmony became an apprentice. She had skills of her own. All of the above, except for Nick, lived at the manor. Adventures a murder and mayhem from death of Harvey, Holly’s original handler, to the magic stone and chaos that came with it provided interest and laughs. Holly having magic hiccups due to her pregnancy was enlightening.
Which series was better? This one or the Scarlet Sanderson one with her ghost cat -it would be hard to say. Both series by Garrett were worth the read.
I'll admit that Holly drove me a little crazy but I did come to love her fierce loyalty to her friends. It took awhile for her to really embrace those around her and I had to remind myself that she did not have the best history, no family, a bad first relationship, and a lot of unlucky career opportunities. Makes a girl leery to trust that maybe she finally was catching a break. Of course it all came with a steep learning curve and a lot of death. With the help of her new found friends, the family she's always wished for, they manage to always rally and save the day.
I almost lost it a few times with her decisions to get involved in some messes, not to mention her inability to see what great people supported her, but she did grow on me and her missteps made her more human. BTW, loved Boots and I am not a cat person.
Truly one of THE best series out there, IMO! Such fun reads, mystery, magic, mayhem, a bit of romance, it's all in there! They have that one-more-chapter-ability, they’re so unputdownable! It takes great skill to grab the reader’s attention so fully. Holly is likable, but no pushover! She can be fierce when the situation asks for it! Adam, now, I didn’t take to him right away, he had to win me over, like he had to win Holly over too. And I like that, that I have to get to know a character, that there are clearly more sides to the characters, as in real life. So I loved how well developed the characters are. The mysteries were outstanding, exceedingly well done.
I really enjoyed this series Holly and Adam Made this series perfect I am so glad they found each other and stayed together They are a lot of like in some ways They wouldn't make I was never but they Nervous journey Nervous I was never and a son And a son hopefully on the way Thank you For this book for this series It is It was very enjoyable now I'm going to look for some of your other books and read those also You are a really Great writer You make others feel like they're right there in the story And I appreciate it Thank you The books that were well written We're greatly appreciated They kept my attention through the end Thank you and keep writing I look forward to Some of your new books
I enjoy light, humorous witchy stories. This 12 book series, Beechwood Harbor Magic Mysteries, was all that and more, and grabbed my attention from page one and never let go. It's rare that I find a book or series that pulls me in from the beginning and takes me along for a wild, fun, and crazy ride. I read through these 12 books in record time (for me), one because I love to read, two because I couldn't wait to see what happens next. Danielle Garrett is a gifted story teller, with a "magic" of her own. I highly recommend this series and any and all books she writes.
A magically delightful series of cozy mysteries surrounding a potion-making witch, and her motley crew of paranormal roommates in a small coastal town. The first few books focus on mysteries that are generally standalone, but as the series progresses, the characters get more defined and it is recommended to read all the books in order. There are a couple of spin-offs from this series, as well as 2 collections of short stories, and they all fit very well together. The author's light, optimistic tone comes through, and these are characters that I'm sad to leave now that I've finished the series.
This series is fast paced, beautifully written, magical and entertaining adventure.
It's based in a small town called Beechwood Harbor and most of the action is centred on a old boarding house for supernaturals protected by a ghost called Posy! All of the main characters are beautifully crafted with their own distinct personalities.
If you like otherworldly cosies with ongoing adventures with strong characters, you'll love this series!
Holly was meant to live in the world of hidden supernaturals in Seattle Haven. But instead she’s stuck in a “halfway house” with just a few other supernaturals pretending to be natural, in our natural world. Her fellow superaturals are cool, quirky, and fun. And her trials and tribulations gradually move forward from simply solving a mystery, to solving her own mystery, to living with love and loss and witches and … someone natural who somehow gets caught up in it all.
It's all great fun and a thoroughly enticing read.
I like being able to by a whole series, that way I avoid gaps in my reading where I have yo wait ir locate the next in the series! The characters in this series are a mixed bunch of creatures, thrown together and having to make it work, which they do! Each of them is well rounded and full of quirks and attitude! Together they make for a great read. The story and the characters grow as you move along and I ended up reading way longer than I planned! 12 books later I was sad to say goodbye, but live in hopes that additional volumes may turn up some day!
The length of this series is let’s be real, intimidating! However, the entire time I felt like I was in Halloweentown. Witches, werewolves, ghost…freaking gargoyles! There’s alot of humor throughout the series, which I always enjoy banter lol. But there is also times I was sad or angry. There are lessons to be learned and a little bit of love to around. I’m a big smut reader so this was definitely on the softer side as in no sexual content lol but the stories were so good that they didn’t need it. Def recommend!
This was a wonderful series. It was fun following Holly & her friends on their adventures. Having the whole Beechwood Harbour in a series like this I got attached to the characters. I laughed & cried throughout. It was very well written & each story had me on the edge of my seat. Even though the author did a great job in ending this series I'm still sad it did. If you want adventure with a bit a magic this a read for you. I'm sure you'll have a laugh too.
Wow! What can I say? This Beechwood Harbor Magic Mysteries: The Complete 22-book Series was an entertaining, exciting, enjoyable, and excellent read.
I fell in love with Beechwood Harbor, and all the interesting individuals within the series. Holly , Adam, Nick, Evie, and Lacy were my absolute favourite characters.
Danielle Garrett is a very talented author with an incredible imagination. I highly recommend this series.
The entires series is wonderful. You will get hooked just like I did. I love witchy books and when I read this one poof, I did I got hooked and I couldn't wait for the next one and the next one. The characters are wholesome and wonderful and the plot is easy to follow. Ms. Garrett is one of my favorite writers. I hope you enjoy the series as much as I did. Thank you.
I absolutely liked how all the characters and their personal problems were shared. How everyone worked together as a family to solve them. Every character is different and learning about each others supernatural backgrounds. Each book is suspenseful in it's own way. I can't wait to read more.
After stumbling on this set of books and started reading about the magical life of Holly and friends/family I'm hooked. If you are looking for easy reading with a bit of fantasy this is a series for you! Thank you Danielle Garrett for sharing your stories. I look forward to reading more.
I really enjoyed this series. I purchased it because it was s deal & had good reviews. Holly's story & struggles were real , as were how she attacked them. I laughed & was touched by some moments. The friendships were fun & heart felt. I recommendations on you all read it too.
When the series opens, our protagonist is alone, unwelcome in the supernatural community, and with no idea how to fix her life. Watching her blossom and develop over the 12 books in the series was a real joy. I'm looking forward to reading the rest of the author's Beechwood Harbor books. Highly recommended!
Danielle has created a world filled with amazing creatures She blends the paranormal and the human worlds with great ease and excitement. It has been delightful watching her characters develop In each new book. I am looking forward to reading more of Danielle's Work Don't be surprised if you lose sleep if you start reading this In bed
This series started slowly but definitely took on a life of it’s own. The characters are each unique and well developed. The magic aspects are interesting in that each witch seems to have her own skill set and willingness to use it as needed. Hard to put down.
Get this series. I have never laughed so much. These books had everything I like in books. It was well written. No red pen needed! They made me laugh, a lot. They made me cringe. They made me cry. Best of all, they had snark, and romance. It made me feel like wanting to stay at the inn, go shopping with the ladies, or just have a scone and coffee. Great job!
With amazing, well drawn characters, thoughtful and engaging, crafted plotlines, this series of books had me engrossed for days. I was completely sold on the adventures Holly and her crew undertook. I laughed and cried, mourned when Posey left. If you love Martha Carr, you will love this author's work.
What an interesting house to live in with different supernaturals getting to know each other. Touching, intriguing and even some funny stuff makes this series of 10 books difficult to put down. Add to the mix that this house is in a human beach holiday spot and they have to keep their magic, shifting, ghosts etc under raps when humans are around. Highly recommended.
I loved this series! Great characters, well written, and just fun stories. I enjoy book series, and the writer did not overly detail previous books/story lines if you started the books out of order, which can be a pet peeve of mine (I get it has to be done and may help refresh memories).
This series is one of my absolute favorites. The characters are all awesome, the mysteries are great, and the storylines are just page turners!! Once I started I couldn't stop reading them!! Highly recommend.
Beachwood = Magic! Great adventures & Characters! These stories are touching and hilarious! I Love seeing growth in characters! Looking forward to reading more about Beachwood! 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟
