Regal and proud as his animal namesake, Jesse Hawk had been young Patricia Boyd's grandest passion. Together they had learned of physical love and created a boundless connection. But when the time came to face their future, Jesse had departed with the summer sun, leaving Patricia longing for his kisses and carrying his child.
Jesse's surprise return had rumors spreading--surely the warrior had come to settle an age-old score with the rich, ruthless Boyd family. But what destiny would be forged, for Patricia and himself, once Jesse learned the truth--that a child now bore his name and his proud Native American heritage?

3 Stars! ~ Barely out of highshool, Jesse and Tricia were in love. But her father's bitter hatred of Jesse forced Tricia to send him away. She holds dear the promise he makes that he'll come back and the secret that she carries his baby. Now 12 years have passed and Jesse's back. But not to claim Tricia. When their son forces them to be friends, they have to face their past and the heal the pain.
I enjoyed reading the story of Sky's brother Jesse. The love between Tricia and Jesse is strong and passionate. Through all the years of heartache, they deserved their HEA.

Very entertaining. Shre it had its ups and downs, but the end result was beautiful. I loved that the father, Jesse Hawk, was Muskogee and all his patients, who were adorable animals. Patricia was a good heroine and Jesse was a very good Hero too. I definitely recommend this book if you like second chance stories with a litle angst feelings, a beautiful mixed-Native American child created by two people in love, and how to overcome hate and anger.
a very sweet story of Jesse and Tricia, and Dillon their son. a story of second chance, of becoming a Dad to a pre teenage boy. A story of hurt and pride and unresolved ancient jealousy. I love the fact that Jesse had a disability as he is dyslexic and so is his son.it gave the story more depth. What I didn't love too much was the messenger bird and the cover which could make potential readers run away. So kitch is is. that's why it's for me a 4 stars.
I am sure when this book and the first of the series I read it over and over (so much my daughter bought her own copies so she didn't have to borrow mine) Another set I am not sure has stood the test of time but I did love them more than a decade ago (the date listed is just to have a date they were read I couldn't begin to guess the true date)
I really liked most of this book. Got a bit bored with the yo yo relationship between Jesse n Tricia. As I love pet pet n work at a vets, I really enjoyed the jesses pet antics. Really good twist which I didn't c coming. Great HEA.
