There are just too many pages in this book. I'd say 200-300 could have done the job. I suspect that the writers of teaching books are paid by number of pages and not by relevance. There are real values to get from reading The UX Book, but you will have to comb through so much before you find it. It's a shame and it's not OK.

Very dense but one of the best books I've found that digs deep into design process (moreso than About Face IMO). Visually not the most pleasant reading experience, slightly better than academic papers lol

a not enough must read for beginners.
generally a very good book for understanding the overall process of UX.
