I liked the idea of this story and think it could've been something really good, but the execution left a lot to be desired.
What was missing the most, for me, was a connection to the story. I think because how the story was written, like a series of rushed journal entries, making that connection was hard. I didn't feel bad about Lacey's situation, didn't feel sad she was left in the cold, didn't even really a twinge of happiness she was with Jansen by the end.
It just needed a lot more to it than it had.
