such a cute book so vague overall insight into what’s on display however it doesn’t go into detail in over 3/4 of the paintings or sculptures, i was expecting more detail and depth but it’s made me very eager to go and see all the art !!!
A copy from 1979 I got for $1 at the South Hobart Vinnies. It’s nice to see the artworks from the gallery, but I would prefer to read descriptions about the stories behind the art, and symbolism, instead of technical details.
We purchased this book at The Uffizi bookstore and used it as a guide through the gallery. We have referred to it many, many times since. I am currently using it to review Renaissance art with my son, who is going into 5th grade.
The book is organized by room in The Uffizzi, so it is great to use as a guide through the gallery, but not quite as user-friendly for use after returning home.
