I know almost nothing about wind power. My cabin is powered strictly by solar with a backup Propane generator. I was considering adding supplemental wind power to charge my batteries when the winter set in.
This book was exactly what I needed to be informed about how wind power works, what it can do, and realistic limitations of what it can't do. This is just as much of a reference book as well as teaching aid.
When the time, comes, I will hire a professional with the knowledge I gleamed from this book. It's a must read if you have ever thought about supplemental power to your place and the title tells you all.

I got what I was looking for - an answer to my questions about building a wind system for the guest house we manage in Port au Prince, Haiti. Not the answer I had hoped for, though. Throughout he emphasized two points, among others: it will cost a LOT of money and it will require a LOT of ongoing maintenance after it is built. I still want to look at science fair sized wind projects for the fun and education of it, and I want to explore a solar hot water system for our four showers and the kitchen.
