Good material for preparation to pass CompTIA Project certification exam. Note, that material is for exam PK0-003, which is out of circulation as of 2017 and current version stands at PK0-004. As my personal experience shows, it is actually quite possible to prepare and pass PK0-004 with only this book as learning material, but I would advice against it. Some topics of current exam are not covered at all (Agile project management methodologies), some only in part.
Over all material is delivered competently and with sufficient examples. Lacking is graphical representation of all project management documentation, structure (logical) of processes and documents, but all that can be easily found online.
Over all, with good supporting methodologies for learning ("pomodoro" technique, internalization, recall) this book will help to get ready for exam in 2 - 3 weeks. As mentioned, look for new edition.
I did learn a lot about project management from this book and it did a decent job of outlining the different aspects. It did not do a great job and it sure didnt make the exam seem like a valuable one. It had a lot of fluff verbiage so a skim reading style looking at bold terms and first sentence of each paragraph and skipping most of the asides was more appropriate.
Great story examples, and well written. Between this and cramming study questions I was able to pass the cert in 5 weeks (that was with launching a new software product at work too...could of done it in 3). If you know the material in the book (I read the book twice) then the exam is not terribly hard.
It's nice to know what the project managers at my work are saying and speak their language. I recommend if you do any sort of project work in IT.
Structure of information was easy to take in but the end of chapter quizzes and answers could have been better formatted. The chapter on equations was extremely rushed and thrown at you.
