Secret History II: Stories About Knoxville, Tennessee by Jack Neely (Scruffy City Publishing 1998)(976.88). Jack Neely is a local historian who writes a column in a local weekly alternative paper about little known historical facts and events about Knoxville, Tennessee. This is a follow-up to his original collection of columns. He has found more interesting trivia that's often surprising. My rating: 7/10, finished 2000.
Excellent book. Paints a very interesting picture of Knoxville's past. It illustrates very colorful characters who are rarely mentioned today. It also has some "aw heck!" moments where famous people turn up at the strangest times. An excellent read and highly recommended!
