As he risks his life to rescue a child pursued by Horrors, J'role must tangle with a horrible enemy--Mordom, whom J'role had slain long years before. Original.
I think this book ends the trilogy exceedingly well. The second one had me doubting if they would finish the trilogy with my care for J'role intact, but Kubasik did not disappoint. This book showed the true nature of man. Capable of selfless good and love along with incomparable hate and selfishness. The duality of man shown center stage. Kubasik had a very interesting afterlife and I think really did well to show how death gives meaning to life. It reminds me of an Oh Sleeper line: "If death is victory, how afraid of life can we be?" That line personifies this book. It deals with expectations of life, family trauma, and personal responsibility in such a way that makes the final line so very impactful. It definitely has a few issues of content warning of some explicit material, but thankfully it adds to the story instead of in there for lust sake.
It‘s finally over. To me this was not fantasy, but a dive into the mind of a man who needs therapy. Lots and lots of telling, not showing. No real concept just stuff happening. I really did not like it and startet speedreading.
