Well ..

The book was good for the most part. I loved Miller, Miles and Cole for Summer so much. But I felt like the two Omega thing is kind of over done. Dean and Summer never had a single moment alone. Bash was ALWAYS there. Yet Bash and Summer get time alone? I feel like Dean should have just stated he only had eyes for his boyfriend and not added himself into the harem. This story reminds me of my avoidance of MM in stories because they focus on their own relationship and not the FMC. Had I found a review that stated that was how this story goes I would have absolutely avoided it honestly. Theo is an adorable sweet boy. I absolutely love Grandma Beatty as well.

Kind of Disappointed

***Spoilers***

Kind of disappointed that her first alpha, Cole, was given another love interest. There was an attraction between him and another alpha, but not a mate bond/scent match. I think I would have been okay with it if they were actually mates. Just didn’t seem right in this kind of “verse”.

FMC was mates with everyone. Which kind of got a little squidgy when you factor in two said mates being father and son. No issues with sharing or age gaps.

Thought it was weird how much emphasis was put on the first omega the father had. They were 16 when they were together and for a short time.

Also found it strange how an alpha who is upset that he’ll no longer be able to take care of/provide for his omega, in the way he thought he would, just straight up abandons them. And why did the grandma wait so long to meddle when it was clear from the get go that they both wanted to be together?

Overall, it’s an okay read, but it started to drag along for me with all the wishy-washy living arrangements. Your fine leaving for years without a thought, but being in the same town and not the immediate proximity causes issues?

DNF 50%

Read 50% and had the feeling that the rest of the book would be boring with only courting and f*cking as the main "problem" has been resolved in the beginning😅 And this was quite stupid🙄 he thought that she thought, and she thought that he thought, and they got separated🤷🏻‍♀️
Furthermore, I wasn't really thrilled reading about a harem in which they were a father and his son involved with the same woman😅 and which father felt suddenly things for one of the guys😅 (the ex of the FMC, father of her child, and boyfriend again)...

I read this because I was specifically looking for a secret baby book. But for me, the best part of a secret baby is the angst and drama surrounding the reveal and the dramatic aftermath of it all getting resolved and then leading to an eventual HEA. This book had ZERO drama. Not a single lick of stress or upset or anything. Nobody is concerned about missing out on their kid/grandkids life. They just kinda joke about it. And her whole justification for not telling him is so flimsy?? She tried to call him twice and his number was changed so she stopped trying?? But she knows his whole family and where he lives and also her grandma knows him and his whole pack so the whole ‘I didn’t know how to contact you’ excuse is garbage. Overall the characters were pretty flat and I skimmed after the halfway point when I realized this book wasn’t going to have any conflict in it whatsoever

Heat- 4
Tropes- sweet omegaverse, MMFMMM, scent match, fated mates, second chance, single parent, age gap
Need to know- other characters from the series appear but this can be read as a standalone

Sweet Summer Secrets is pure omegaverse fluff but messy fluff. Omegaverse doesn’t come much sweeter than this. Summer and Cole were childhood sweethearts who bonded. They broke up after a tragedy leaving Summer unknowingly pregnant. 3 years later, Summer returns to Holiday Hollow to track down Cole so their son has a father. She is shocked to find that not only does he have a pack but the entire pack are her scent matches. While Summer and Cole’s breakup was basically just a miscommunication trope, this one didn’t bother me because it happened prior to our story and is resolved fairly quickly in the book. There really isn’t any angst here.

There is, however, a very complicated pack. The pack consists of Dean and his scent matched Omega, Bash, Bash’s beta best friend, Miles, Dean’s alpha father, Miller, and Cole. This means Summer is scent matched to a father and son. The father and son obviously never participate in acts together, but they do watch each other during heats. Furthermore, Miller (the dad) and Cole develop a sexual connection. The author does a good job making each MMC distinct in personality and giving each of their relationships with Summer time, with the exception of Dean. We never really see Dean and Summer alone. Bash is always with them. Weirdly we get a good bit of Bash and Summer without Dean. It set up a dynamic where Dean’s relationship with Bash felt more important than his one with Summer.

ARC review.

I have absolutely adored this whole series, and Sweet Summer Secrets was a great continuation of the series - bringing us back to Holiday Hollow and giving us all the sweet and cozy feels. I recommend this series in general to all fans of sweet omegaverse, who like their packs to be full of hot hot alphas, betas and omegas. Yes, omegas plural. We have our heroine Summer, a female omega, and also a male omega, Bash. And that's just on top of the wonderful men in the pack. This is just poly goodness, with both romantic and platonic relationships between the different members of the pack.

There's a little bit of angst at the start of the book (secret baby), which was resolved quite quickly. A bit too quickly, for my taste, since there could have been a little bit more tension for a little while longer. But, that said, the sweet and spicy parts that follow are great.

I'm usually not the biggest fan of male omegas, but Bash was such a fun character. How he and Summer embraced each other was truly wonderful.

I loved that we got to meet the characters from the previous books and once again, I'm left asking, why doesn't Holiday Hollow exist for real?! I'd move there in a heartbeat if it was a real place.

This was an enjoyable read and I'm already eagerly awaiting the next book that will take me back to Holiday Hollow.

This is an ARC review, and I'm leaving this review voluntarily.

I made it through about 92% of the book, but I still couldn’t bring myself to finish it.

What bothered me the most was the harem dynamic. Everyone already had an established partner, which made the beta the only character who genuinely gave the FMC any real attention. Dean, on the other hand, seemed far more invested in Bash, the male Omega, than in the FMC. He was only ever with her when Bash was present. All their dates were group outings, and every intimate scene involved at least three people — with Dean barely acknowledging Summer even then.

Adding to the discomfort, Dean’s father, Miller, is also part of the harem, which makes the intimate group dynamics extremely awkward. It also raises some uncomfortable questions about parenthood. If they want more children (which they constantly claim they do!), and Dean is the biological father, does that make Miller the child’s father as well — or the grandfather?!
And if Miller were the biological father instead — which I would honestly support MUCH more, because that relationship actually had chemistry — then Dean would somehow be both the child’s father and sibling?!?

By the end, every MMC seemed more occupied with another MMC within the harem or with the child, leaving the FMC emotionally sidelined. The story ultimately felt off-balance and uncomfortable, and because of that strange overall vibe, I just couldn’t bring myself to finish the book.

Summer found out she was pregnant soon after her Alpha left, and went on to raise him alone for the next 3 years while finishing college. It was difficult, but she felt it was her own fault how life was the way it was. But when her little boy started asking about his daddy, she knew she owed it to him to try to find his father and make him a part of their son's life. So, she headed back to their hometown, Holiday Hollow. Near town, her car died, and one tow ride later, her reunion with her Alpha happened sooner than she expected. The meeting went better than she could have hoped, and it's clear her Alpha and his new Pack plan to stay involved in her life. Can this be a new beginning, or will their past be too much to overcome?

This was a good, easy, sweet read. My only surprise was the lack of angst. There was a simple misunderstanding, no residual anger, no resentment. I enjoy the tension because it makes the payoff so much sweeter. My only complaints were the double Omega and that Cole was given another love interest. I was not a fan, but that's a personal (selfish) preference, and I know others will love it. I want my Omega to be the center of their universe, no competition. I love mm, but want it on the side, not on equal footing. Summer and the Pack were lovely characters; my favorite was Miller, Theo was adorable, and I loved the meddling spitfire, Grandma Beatty.

Sweet Summer Secrets captures everything I love about returning to Holiday Hollow—the charm of small-town life, the undeniable pull of fated love, and that mix of heartache and heat that Jarica James and Chloe Gunter always deliver so well.

This story follows an omega forced to face her past—and the mark that never truly faded. The setup is pure emotional candy: years apart, unresolved feelings, and a secret that changes everything. Watching her come home and navigate that complicated tangle of guilt, desire, and hope made for a deeply satisfying read. The pack’s protectiveness balances perfectly with her stubborn independence, making their reunion both tender and fiery.

The authors do a wonderful job weaving in the warmth and sensuality that define this series. Holiday Hollow feels like a living, breathing place—one filled with baked-in nostalgia, found family, and second chances that actually feel earned. The spice is plentiful, but it’s the emotional healing and reconnection that truly make this book shine.

Perfect for fans of: second-chance Omegaverse, found-family dynamics, and slow-burn reunions with plenty of payoff.

"Sweet Summer Secrets" was the absolute perfect palate cleanser. It's a light and optimistic read, with the absolute minimum of drama and just the perfect book when you want to smile the entire time you're reading. That doesn't make it boring in any way; there is some past hurt to overcome, bonds to form and a pack to become a solid unit. But all in all, this is a fluffy and cute read, with all the good and sunny feelings that belong to a great summer read.

This book has some specific things I know readers look for in reverse harem books. There's a son and his father in this pack, together! I love the father-son bond between these two by the way, and how it works perfectly with their omega. On top of that, we've got two omega's and Bash is my absolute favorite guy in this harem. He's such a lovely guy, filled with mischief but most of all with a huge amount of love for his pack members. And last but not least, we've got a single mom in Summer and Theo is a true bundle of joy.

So yeah, if you're looking for a feel-good book I can highly recommend this one!

Best of the series so far

This book started off poorly with the world's most redundant sentence on page one. Thankfully it improved pretty quickly from there. Compared to the first two books, this one feels almost too short, and the overall quality is much better. The relationship building and ending especially seemed a bit rushed but it's forgivable. Summer is an ok FMC and the guys are pretty solid but they're not fleshed out quite enough. The authors have an unfortunate time warp - they've been apart 3 years but their son is 3 years old but sounds like a 5 year old. It just doesn't quite work.
You do get a pretty good HEA type story, really low angst (there is no antagonist in this story) and little sprinkles of humor. The quick visits with various characters from the series are nice as well. It's not a bad book. I'd recommend it if you're looking for open doors and have tbr space to fill, but it is an example of potential left on the table.

Sweet Summer Secrets is part of The Holiday Hollow Omegaverse Series, which is a series of spicy and sweet standalones with guaranteed Happily Ever Afters. This book is a second chance, age-gap, secret baby, small town romance read.

I really got sucked into this awesome story and it was impossible not to fall in love with the incredible characters. Summer is such an amazing woman, mom, and omega. She is used to doing everything on her own and has trouble accepting help. However, her pack are not taking no for an answer. They are determined to spoil her and her son rotten.

The writing, flow, characters, storyline, world building, character development, storytelling, and relationship development were all fantastic. This is an altogether fabulous read that I would definitely recommend.

This tells the story of Summer. A woman who returns to Holiday Hollow after being away to the city. She's afraid meeting the alpha who is dad to her son Theo but he doesn't know of Theo. On the way there her car breaks down and she calls. She's picked up by Dean a packmate of Cole and he's Theo's Dad. Imagine Cole's surprise seeing Summer again. He however isn't angry at Summer and they talk things out. Summer knows she's scentmatched to all of the pack. There's a silver fox Miller, his son Dean, another omega Bash, Cole and a beta Miles. Loved this one so much. Can Summer come clean? What's with the headaches she receives? Awesome story.

Ok seriously I wanna move to Holiday Hollow. I always just picture a Stars Hollow vibe whenever I read a book from this series. If you have ever watched Gilmore Girls then you get the vibe.

Summer is back in Holiday Hollow, starting over with her son Theo. She’s moving in with her grandma. But her car breaks down en-route. The guy from the auto shop is Dean, the nice and sweet Alpha who has a pack of his own. A pack that includes Summer’s one time boyfriend Cole. Sparks fly and essentially it’s fated mates for Summer and Dean’s entire pack, which also includes Dean’s sexy DILF Miller. Absolutely love this sweet omegaverse story.

Another sweet return to the idyllic town of Holiday Hollow. This time with our omega Summer and her adorable son Theo, who return to her hometown to introduce him to his father who doesn’t know that he exists. I thought that maybe the secret baby trope was resolved slightly to quickly and would have preferred some more angst and groveling (love me some groveling!), but still enjoyable. Usually, I’m not the greatest fan of multi-generation harems (i.e., father and son), but the way that Jarica and Chloe write these characters made it very easy to read. Overall, a lovely short, sweet, smalltown RH romance.

I'm not going to finish the book, but I'm going to give it 3 stars because it wasn't bad at all. I just gave up on it because when it got to the heat of Summer instead of everything being centered around her, the main omega, Bash and Dean started to take center stage as a separate alpha and omega couple and I honestly didn't like it anymore. I can forgive the fact that there are 2 omegas in the same pack simply because he was a man, but that they take away protagonism from Summer, the main character, is no longer to my liking. I have nothing against a MM relationship in the harem, as long as it doesn't interfere with the main relationships.

I really loved the first, Liked the second and im petering out on the third. Its not a bad read, It just feels like its constantly so sweet. There is angst and a hidden love child in the first chapter and its all better really fast.
There is another Alpha/Omega pair in the bunch. There is some late in the game MM attraction in the harem. It just is all so dang sweet. And I normally love sweet but It just wasnt hitting me. I wanted some kind of hook to bring it all back in and it didnt really happen.

I love the little town and the setting! Its great :) I would go there haha. In the end its cute, very sweet, very sugar coated donut, Just kinda eh for me.

I’m moving to Holiday Hollow

Summer’s story is not without its pain points. However, I was glad the majority was faced fairly early on so everyone could process and move past. I loved the rest of the pack. Bash is a whirlwind of positive energy I just want to be around. I loved that it was talked about how Summer and Colt both worked past their past in a healthy way. Even if it took time. I seriously love all these stories and am ready to move to Holiday Hollow myself. Can’t wait for more!

Sweet Summer Secrets is apart of the Holiday Hollow series by Jarica James. This is a spicy and sweet standalone in the series and does not disappoint. This book is a second chance, age-gap, secret child, small town romance read. It was so easy to get sucked up into this book. With each page turn I found it harder and harder to harder to turn to the page. If you are looking for something to "cleanse your palette" then this is a must read. I'm excited to see what Jarica has in store next for her readers.

I love Holiday Hollow and will pack my bags in a heartbeat to live there. This book was so sweet and I just fell more in love with every. Summer is on her way home with her son Theo. When her car breaks down the local mechanic Dean is there to help her. With her baby daddy in Dean's pack will things escalate with the secret of having a kid? Will this pack accept her and her son? Will she finally find happiness in Holiday Hollow? Well what are you waiting for dive in and find out!

This addition to the series heaps on all the warm and fuzzy feelings… For me, it may have done it just a little too much too soon... I adore Holiday Hollow and this was like a Hallmark movie, but I would have liked just a bit more tension, especially since there are so many opportunities for it! But what is plentiful here that I love are mature, supportive relationships where the pack comes together in different ways to take care of one another. Now I’m eagerly waiting for the final book.

Cozy second chance romance

In this book, we head back to Holiday Hollow with Summer and her second chance love story. It's a small town romance with cinnamon roll alphas, an adorable beta, and 2 awesome omegas. If you like feel-good, contemporary OV, then this is definitely the book for you.

I absolutely loved this so sweet Omegaverse story. Holiday Hallow is the perfect Omegaverse world to escape to when you just want all the knots, nests and heats to warm you heart. This made me sweet sigh. Theo stole my heart and the show for me. And I just really enjoyed the dynamic between Summer and all the guys.

Have to give this book 2 stars because it felt so shallow and boring that I DNF'ed it at 90%.
I just did not care to finish it, I didn't care to see the ending, I didn't care about what happens with the pack.

It's meant to be fluffy and lighthearted... But it shouldn't be that at the expense of the actual story itself. There is no story, ultimately.

ok

good story but a little bit boring for ME. It’s sweet, i think i’m used to reading a bit more fantasy and drama omv. or too used to reading omvs with past trauma in the books. I think this is a little too innocent for my liking. everyone is so nice and understanding and supportive towards one another. 3/5 is good

Summer & Theo

What an adorable book. I needed this sweet story. Yes the omega and her alpha had split, but they had been young and did find their way back to each other. Theo was absolutely adorable. Bash was so fun. Miller the silver fox but honestly at 40 he wasn’t as old as they made it sound, most men aren’t all grey by then. Dean was hotness. I really loved gramma.

These Holiday Hollow books are like little doses of candy coated goodness. We don’t see a lot of hard conflict with the 2nd Chance storyline and we aren’t waiting for half the book for the big reveals and the interaction between our two love lost characters. This one is probably one of my favorites of the series with its sweetness and determination to showcase the evolution of building a pack.
