Then a horned blue alien rescues me, whisking me away on the back of a dragon! Raxnor is seven feet of muscled strength and scowls, but he shields me from every danger. In his arms, I feel safe for the first time in this new world.

I start to fall hard. But the big grump hides everything behind even bigger walls. When his secret’s exposed, I realize I don’t know him at all. How can I give him my heart if I can’t trust him?

RAXNOR

I’m on a mission to find the special metal that can protect us from the gray aliens’ telepathy. But first I have to rescue a Hyoo-mon female.

Story: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Trope: grumpy/sunshine; fated mates
Angst: 😱😱
Smexy: 🔥🔥🔥

Absolutely loved it! Such a great story and Krista's writing just keeps getting better and better. Super interesting storyline that's super fast paced. I love learning new things and nerding out while reading romances, lol, so Krista really provided me the perfect read :). I also love strong FMCs and Sophie, who is a mining engineer and metallurgist is awesome. She's the sunshine to Raxnor's grumpy and they just really "fit". I was super happy it was his story this time, he was just grumpy in the previous books, lol. Really hoping for Tark next time around!

This book was pretty cute with a grumpy x sunshine dynamic. Sofie was intelligent, sweet, and generally optimistic. Raxnor was jaded, grouchy, and dealing with some serious self loathing. She brought out some positivity in him and he helped her face her trauma from captivity. I liked that she was a metallurgist and mining engineer too.

Spice: 4/5

Triggers: captivity, starving animal, violence, blood, child neglect (off page)

🎧 Audiobook Review: Married to the Alien Rogue (Fated Mates of the Zaarn, #4)

Author: Krista Luna
Genre: Science Fiction Romance / Alien Romance
Narrators: Tor Thom and Elle Sonali

📚 Characters & Background

Sofie begins this story as a brilliant mining engineer and metallurgist on a mission meant to shape humanity’s future. Instead, she wakes from cryosleep to a nightmare: abducted, sold, and treated as a pet by an alien species who sees her intelligence yet chooses to ignore it. Her new “owners” are two lizard‑like younglings whose favorite game is hunting her for sport. Their mother offers the occasional warning not to injure the new pet, but Sofie’s safety is always precarious. Her fear for the other women from her expedition lingers constantly—she doesn’t know where they are, but she hopes none of them have been reduced to this.

Meanwhile, Raxnor and the Zaarn are fighting their own battle for survival. Exiled from their homeworld and facing extinction due to their inability to find compatible mates, the discovery of the ARC‑1 and its cryopod‑preserved human women becomes their last fragile hope. But several women were stolen and sold before the Zaarn arrived, and Raxnor has made it his mission to track them down. When he learns that one human female—Sofie—was purchased directly by a powerful Tula senator and taken to Tularia, he doesn’t hesitate. He sets a course to retrieve her, driven by duty, desperation, and the faint possibility that she might be one of the women destined for his people.

Their worlds collide when Raxnor finds Sofie mid‑hunt, terrified and exhausted. His intervention is swift and protective, pulling her out of danger and setting the stage for a bond forged under extreme circumstances.

🌟 Strengths

• A heroine with real fire. Sofie is a standout. She’s intelligent, capable, and refuses to break despite the horrifying situation she’s trapped in. Even when she needs rescuing, she never feels passive—her strength is woven into every decision she makes.
• A heroine with meaningful skills. Her background as a metallurgist isn’t just a throwaway detail. It adds depth, purpose, and a refreshing sense of competence. She contributes something tangible to the story beyond simply being a human female in an alien world.

💔 Limitations

• A sluggish middle section. The pacing loses momentum halfway through. Whether it was a personal slump or the story itself slowing down, it took far longer to finish than expected—something that’s unusual for you.
• Alien pets that feel too familiar. The Creecat is cute, and the telepathy is a fun twist, but it still reads like yet another space‑cat. Alien romance has endless potential for imaginative creatures, so it’s a bit disappointing to see the same feline template reused instead of something truly strange or unique.

🎙️ Narration

The dual POV format is brought to life beautifully by Tor Thom and Elle Sonali. Thom’s deep, resonant voice fits a towering alien hero perfectly, grounding Raxnor with authority and warmth. Sonali’s soft, expressive delivery captures Sofie’s vulnerability and resilience with ease. Together, they elevate the emotional beats and make the character dynamics more engaging than they might have been on the page alone.

💬 Final Assessment

This audiobook delivers a compelling premise, a heroine with genuine strength and intelligence, and narration that enhances the emotional core of the story. Sofie’s resilience and Raxnor’s determination create a dynamic that’s easy to root for. However, the mid‑story pacing issues and reliance on familiar alien‑pet tropes keep it from fully standing out in a crowded genre. It’s an enjoyable listen with memorable moments, but not the most gripping or inventive entry in the series.

*Dreamy sigh* Krista Luna does it again, I’m in love with Sophie and Raxnor. I love the combination of romance, sweetness, action, mystery, adventure, spice, humor, and a touch of angst this series has, it’s my personal blend of catnip, I eat up everything Krista writes.

As someone who is typically not a fan of a grumpy MMC, Raxnor is an exception- I loved that grump with a heart of gold! He was all “I don’t deserve good things” but also “touch her and die!” Swoon! You hear that? That’s me, melting into a puddle of fiend on the ground again. I loved his growth from not being a good communicator to realizing he needs to learn, and I loved how his bestie Tark helped him with that. Such an amazing example of growth and accountability without shame! I also loved how the miscommunication trope stops before it starts, thanks to a certain someone’s big mouth👀🤣. ( Can’t WAIT for that goofballs book omg🤣😍💚)

I loved Sophie and what a sweet, easy going, loving, and kind person she was, and it was so cool to see her unique career as a metalologist (I hope I’m spelling that right). One thing I love about Krista’s FMC’s is they are all women in fields that we often don’t hear of women being in- pilot, linguist, peacekeeper, metalologist- such amazing and much needed rep! Not only was Sophie sweet, but she was frekking smart! She also had amazing growth too. Both the MCs are overcoming trauma and I loved seeing how Sophie got to confront her abusers, hell yeah girl!

As I’ve mentioned before, the overarching story is AMAZING, each book answers a little bit more but leaves me chomping at the bit for the next! I love the adventures in this alien universe and how things are slowly unveiled, leaving me guessing. And of course I HAVE to mention the telepathic space cat pets! They just make me so happy, and I loved Lila and I just wanted to snuggle her so bad! They are always so freaking cute and I still want one of my own! 🥹

My only complaint is that I now have to wait for the next one. 🤣😉💚 I’m kidding of course I will wait as long as is needed for this amazing series!💚

I freakin adore these males. 💙 This series has turned into a favorite and I can see myself revisiting them as a comfort read in the future. The Zaarns are just so sweet even when they're grumpy! And the plot is interesting and exciting but not too stressful, which I think can be hard to accomplish especially consistently over a series like this (I give Krista Luna major kudos for that!). Now I was an early reader for this and I don't always do the best at staying specific-spoiler free but I'm going to try...

Sofie is my new favorite FMC and it's not just because she's a mining engineer and metallurgist (which is probably as close to a geologist, aka what I studied to be pre-sick, as I'm going to find in sci-fi lol). While she's definitely the sunshine to Raxnor's grumpy and radiates kindness that draws people and animals to her, Sofie is no doormat. And while a lot of my prior reviews have focused more on the male characters, Krista Luna writes some of the best FMCs I've read in SFR and she does it by creating realistic women. They're neither too badass nor TSTL damsels in distress, they always end up being equal partners and contributing where they can — and each contribution is different but still valid, their skills valuable and appreciated. To me, Sofie is the perfect mix of intelligent, adventurous, strong-willed, and fierce main character energy with feminine softness in the form of compassion, sweetness, and a desire to protect and care for those around her. She goes through some traumatizing stuff in the beginning and doesn't really let herself feel anything about it until Raxnor encourages her to stop minimizing it just because it "could've been worse" and that is... so freaking relatable. 😅

This brings me to my gushing about Raxnor. 😍 We meet him in some of the earlier books, especially the last one with Mollie & Sul, and he is the mostly silent, stoic, grumpy type that outwardly puts on the appearance that he doesn't believe in love or that the Hyoomuns are the answer to their mating problem. But inside? Pure. Gooey. Sweetness. Raxnor is what I affectionately call the Burnt Marshmallow archetype: crispy (grumpy) on the outside but sweet and delicious on the inside. I don't want to ruin any of the surprises (both good and, well, not bad but... emotional) but Raxnor's burnt exterior is for a damn good reason and I don't blame him for his gruffness — and thankfully neither does Sofie. She meets him where he's at after begging for better communication, which he begrudgingly agrees to initially but then realizes how much better things are when he communicates. Which leads to the CUTEST moment with a supporting character of the entire series so far! He actually shares some feelings with Tark, his best friend, and gem that Tark is, he didn't make it weird or make Raxnor regret showing a little vulnerability, he just rolled with it.
“Thank you. I knew all that, but it’s still nice to hear it. You’re a better friend than you think. You’ve put yourself between me and danger on every mission. All the scowls in the universe can’t hide that big heart of yours for long. Just make sure you let her see it.” (Tark)

UGH I love him. I desperately hope Tark's book is next. 🥺🙏🏻🥺

ANYWAY Sorry, this is already getting long and I could honestly talk about this one for days because it was just so entertaining to read. I want to briefly talk about the relationship dynamic and then I'll shush, lol. Raxnor and Sofie complement each other so nicely. He brings her a stability and sense of safety and she brings him joy and a sense of wonder; it's honestly beautiful and I think that's what really makes them my favorite couple by a hair. (Because I really, really loved Sul lol) Raxnor is this serious, mission-oriented grump around everyone else but with his special Zo-fee he is sweet and sexy and playful.
“No fair,” I said. “You’re cheating.”
“Cheating implies we’re playing a game.” His eyes pierced me. “Nothing I do with you will ever be a game, my soul’s breath. You are the very purpose of my life.”

Reading their connection develop made me yearn for my own Raxnor and to me that's a sign of a great read. 😌

I'm going to leave you with one of my favorite snippets from the book that's too big for an IG post, lol. And hope that you'll pick this book up when it releases tomorrow, because its well worth it!
“My soul’s breath, your very presence is more of a gift than any I ever expected to receive. You owe me nothing.”
A sheen of tears brightened her eyes. “If you keep saying beautiful things like that, I’m going to have to kizz you.”
“Then I will attempt to be as silver-tongued as Kirel.” I brushed my thumb over her bottom lip. “I will do anything for you, my most special Zo-Fee.”

*swoon* ♥️

3.5 rounded to 4 stars

Another light, fun read in this series. I liked Raxnor and Sofie and liked the progression of the plot but this one didn't have me as invested or excited as previous books did. I think it's partly because it felt like Sofie wasn't developed as much, the plot progression didn't have the same air of intrigue as previous plot points, and parts are starting to feel repetitive.

With regards to Sofie, she was clearly the sunshine character to grumpy Raxnor and mentions falling for men too quickly but it felt like we otherwise didn't get much in the way of background or personality. We got more background with Mollie and Hazel and it felt like they had more personality traits I could list. Sofie mentions a grandparent and not much else. Why did she go into mining and metallurgy? What did she like about it so much? Even her trauma from being kept as a pet felt strangely surface level, which is such a weird way to describe trauma of all things.

Raxnor had some background that feeds into his present day decisions but honestly he wasn't a whole lot better.

As for the last thing, it may have partly due to with having binged the series not that long ago and I get wanting readers to not forget or feel left out about pieces of information, but it felt like things were being explained repeatedly or frequently in this book. It's the 4th in the series and, unless they're all intended to be standalones (which seems unlikely), it's okay to expect readers to have some knowledge of prior events. It makes sense that a character not in the know, like Sofie, might need some things explained or summarized for them but it got kinda old after the 3rd or 4th time something was being explained from the previous books.

I also felt bad for poor Lila, Sofie's pet kreecat, as she is the 3rd kreecat of the series and not necessarily all that special when you have a group of them. I don't think every single FMC needs a different pet unique to them but having a group of the special animals does make it feel a little less special. If we suddenly had 3 starwisps, I think they'd start to feel less special as well, y'know?

I forgot to mention, the ending felt abrupt and like some things were left unfinished. There's no mention of Captain Wrin or the other mission with the other group and barely touches base on Tark's progress.

Looking forward to Tark's book! Hoping Captain Wrin gets his own story as well.

✨ARC Review! I received an early copy of this book and this is my honest review.✨

“My existence was a colorless, drab thing until I found you, lacking love and delight.”

I received an ARC of Married to the Alien Rogue in exchange for a review. It’s the newest book in the Fated Mates of the Zaarn series. This series is one of my favorites and I’m so happy that I got the chance to ARC read again! Once again I’m blown away by the series and how it continues to get better and better! This installment gets ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ from me!

This book picks up immediately after the previous one. Raxnor and Tark separate from the Daredevil when they get intel that there’s a human female on the Tula’s planet. They immediately spring into action to save her from being someone’s “pet”…

Raxnor goes planetside and intercepts our heroine Sofie while she’s running through the jungle. He steals her away and even though they don’t know each other, she knows he’s there to save her. During their escape in the jungle they acquire a friend, ride on a dragon, and even take a dip in a waterfall!

Sofie falls head over heels for Raxnor, but this stubborn alien has a wall around his heart. As much as he wants to give into his mate bond, he doesn’t feel worthy enough for Sofie. The secret that they’re mates comes out and Sofie doesn’t know if she can trust Raxnor anymore.

It takes another mission with the Daredevil crew for Sofie and Raxnor to get on the same page. Their bond only grows stronger while Sofie finds her place among the crew. Her background in mining and metals makes her essential to the Daredevil and their mission to overthrow the Grugs.

I left a lot out of that summary above. I didn’t want to spoil anything. There’s so much that happens in this book! If you’ve kept up with the books there’s an overarching plot that been the driving force of the series. This book makes great progress with that storyline and I’m so excited to see what’ll happen next! The new unlikely alliance that Sofie was able to broker was surprising and I’m curious to see what’ll come of it.

Speaking of Sofie… she’s another strong determined female who kicks some major ass. She doesn’t clam up when there’s danger and she’s quick on her feet. She knows her worth and isn’t afraid of speaking up. She’s also quick to love and she falls HARD for Raxnor. But falling fast has always been her thing and she needs open communication to be sure that it’s reciprocated.

Communication is not Raxnor’s strong suit. He’s spent his whole life being cast aside and feeling unworthy. He guards his heart fiercely and doesn’t like to talk about his feelings.

They end up being perfect for one another. She lets him know how much she wants and desires him, showing him that he’s worthy of love. Meanwhile, he’s able to open up about his feelings, and not only reciprocates her love, but opens his heart and lets her in.

Also I have SO MUCH LOVE for Tark! His bff relationship with Raxnor carries right over to Sofie and I loved watching them geek out over machines and metals. I hope his book is next!

DNF after skimming to around 85%

Fourth in the series of alien fated mates, this series features an overarching plot line with each book focusing on a different couple. In this one, Tark & Raxnor go to a lizard planet to rescue a human (Sofie) who has been bought as a pet. As it turns out, she’s Raxnor’s fated mate! And also a metal specialist who can help them find/create the correct metal to block the Grug’s telepathy.

Here’s why it was a miss for me:

1) Raxnor wants Sofie to have a choice and not be tethered to him just because he is biologically her fated mate.. but he takes away her choice to choose him 🤦🏼‍♀️
2) It got a bit repetitive. I guess you could just jump in on the fourth book but they should be read in order so there were a lot of explanations I just skimmed since I got them in previous books.
3) Also I’m over the cutesy space pets. They all speak in broken English and generally serve little purpose but to get in the way. One or two was fun, but now we’re up to four or five.

I am invested in how the overall series will end so hopefully the next book is a hit for me 🥰

I received an advanced copy for review - all opinions are my own.

Married to the Alien Rogue

Sofie, an engineer, leaves earth excited to explore a new world, but ends up being woken up too early from cyro, pod like things meant to keep you asleep, sold by awful aliens to OTHER aliens as a ‘pet’. She spends her days running around with the alien children as their pet when she runs into another Alien who says he’s there’s to rescue her.

Enter Raxnor! Tall, blue, alien hotness who has the biggest walls about himself. And what does Sofie do? Oh she breaks those down! They must work together to find the special metal that can help them against the bad guys.

I FELT for Raxnor from the start. The poor soul just wanted to be loved, but the thought of being rejected just made him build the biggest walls around his heart 🥹 it didn’t help that he’s always scowling and isn’t much of a talker 😂

Sofie is such a happy and very practical character. Her first interaction with Raxnor was so so funny. She never gave up on him and just really met him where he needed her to. They make the perfect pair and I just loved their story!!

(Screaming from the rooftop) I love Krista Luna!!! Each book gets better and better. Her writing style is so descriptive. I feel like I’m right there in it. Which, I wish I was! A tall, muscular, loyal, and protective alien mercenary with a vibing tail? Umm, yes please! The Zaarn men are absolutely incredible. They’re confident, honorable, and courageous. Despite their rough and sometimes grumpy exterior, they are all softies at heart when it comes to their fated mates. Sofie really gives Raxnor a run for his money. Her bubbly, fun, and quirky personality keeps him on his toes. They mesh well together, and their chemistry is off the charts. This story was captivating from start to finish. Filled with action, adventure, and an intoxicating fated love. It has the perfect mixture of romance and suspense. An absolute must read! Thank you to the author for gifting me this exciting grumpy/sunshine romance in exchange for an honest review.

This was cute, I enjoyed the grumpy sunshine aspects and that the angst was pretty low. I thought the main conflict of Raxnor not telling Sophie about the bond was actually reasonable because they had much bigger things to focus on and that works have been a lot, but Raxnor's sadboy reasoning was not good (he needs therapy) so I am glad it resolved pretty quickly

I honestly didn't remember who the MMC was based on the last few books so I wasn't very excited for this one. It was fine, kinda instalovey. Read this one for the plot development. Tark will be fun, I think. Also, if the Captain doesn't get a mate I will riot.

This was good but wasn’t as special as the rest of the rest of the series. It felt a little recycled and same same as the rest. I’m still liking the series so hopefully the next one is more of a hit. Also I’m crushing on the captain, I hope he gets a story of his own.

Content/Trigger Warnings/Enticements:

I received an advanced reader copy of this book, and this is my voluntary, honest review.

“I held the various items up for him, and he grabbed one of the syringes and plunged it into his left side. He didn’t even wince as the needle sunk in.

Yep. He’s still doing the whole “dictionary definition of stoic” thing. But it was kind of hot, the thought of him being so strong.

And so willing to protect me.”

Sofie is kept as a human pet for a Tula Senator and Raxnor gets sent in to help get the human woman out. One day I’ll be good at a plot synopsis but today is not that day.

I was screaming and hollering through this. There’s a nod to Dragonriders of Pern, the purple space kitty, the miscommunication THAT GETS RESOLVED BY THEM TALKING LIKE ADULTS. I was toasted, and in love, and so giddy reading this it was like these little bursts of happiness in every freaking chapter. As always, there’s the space heist, and the action adventure side married to a budding romance and our girl Sofie being down to play with the purple tail. I said what I said. I turned off notifications on my phone to read this and surfaced only to go howl at Krista Luna about something new that I was in love with.

There are certain authors in this world where you just know that you’re going to enjoy every word from start to finish and Krista Luna is one of those for me.

💙 “I couldn’t imagine loving you more, and yet I do. Every day.”
~~~
Sofie is a mining engineer and a metallurgist. Taken from ARK 1 before the ship was rescued by the Zaarn and the human women, she’s now owned as a pet by a Tula senator. Sofie is such a strong, brave and resilient woman. Even more, she’s caring, compassionate, feisty and incredibly smart. I loved her so, so much!
And then, there’s Raxnor! The huge, strong infiltration expert is one magnificent male! At first, he might appear stoic, growly and grumpy, but there is so much more to him than meets the eye. Raxnor’s gruff exterior hides a heart of sweetness and gentleness, but almost no one in his life has looked at him with care and he finds it hard to express his feelings. Nevertheless, the quiet Zaarn warrior is a patient, thoughtful, caring and fiercely protective male who deserves all the love in the Universe. And I couldn’t help but adore every single thing about him!
I absolutely loved everything that happened between Sofie and Raxnor! Raxnor and his friend Tark are on a mission to find the missing females from ARK 1 when intel sends them to the Tula home planet - Tularia, where Raxnor embarks on a dangerous journey to find and rescue the human woman. Imagine his surprise when his kron turns purple and starts vibrating the moment he sees her. I adored Sofie and Raxnor together! From the moment they met, their attraction was strong and their chemistry was fantastic. I adored Raxnor for all the ways he took care of and protected Sofie while they were running through jungles and mountains, trying to escape the Tula guards. And he was right by her side when she had to face her captors once again. Even more, I loved Sofie for showing the huge growly warrior that he was more than worthy of care, love and affection. Yet, it took some time for Raxnor to learn to be more open, to communicate better and express his feelings. And when they couldn't resist the undeniable need for one another, the passionate moments they shared were off-the-charts hot! Oh, those Zaarn males make me melt every time with their delicious possessiveness, filthy mouths and naughty tails! Raxnor and Sofie were so perfect for each other and, after everything they went through, they more than deserved to find happiness and love together.
In addition, the storyline was spectacular! Not only did we get another fierce, sassy and honest to a fault alien pet - Luna, but also… DRAGONS! And I adored Tark! That warrior is the best wingman (...wingZaarn?!) ever! Even more, we get to go on another daring mission to a Tula mining facility in search for more information about the zurilium that can be used against the Grug. And new alliances might be formed, too. With everything happening, I was glued to the pages till the very end.
Overall, the story is another outstanding addition to the series! It’s filled with danger, adventure, action, suspense, humor, drama, twists, scorching hot passion and magnificent characters.
I couldn’t put it down and absolutely loved every single page of it!
“I wonder if he’d kiss me. You know, for science?”
I am obsessed with this series! Krista never disappoints, I loved Raxnor and Sofie. This book has humor, adventure, spice, and a smidge of angst. All the things that make an excellent book for me. In Married to an Alien Rogue we are introduced to Sofie and Raxnor, Raxnor is are lovable grump that we briefly met in the previous books. Sofie is the human meteorologist, and that just happens to be an expertise the Zaarn didn't know they needed. Sophie wakes up and finds herself sold to alien lizards as their kid's new pet. Not the worst situation but not the best. Enter Raxnor who rescues her and they make a daring escape on the back of a dragon. Sofie falls hard for our lovable grump, Raxnor but then his secret is exposed and she releases she might not really know him. How can she love him if she can't trust him? Raxnor wasn't planning on finding his mate, he was just doing the right thing, rescuing a stolen human. But fate is like that, unexpected. Now he finds himself falling hard and fast and he's willing to do anything for her. Even if that thing is let her choose someone else to love. Sophie is amazing, she is intelligent and funny. She easy going which I love. While she is easy going she is not a pushover, she stands up for herself and others when needed. Something that Krista does so well is write relatable FMC, every single one is such a perfect addition to the story. They have their strengths and weakness but their not defined by them, and they certainly don't let them hold them back. Raxnor like all these Zaarn males is a heartthrob that I wish was real, he's grumpy but also such a softie and I really loved getting his backstory. He and Tark are freaking amazing, I love their friendship, and it's so fun to read. Tark is probably the best wing ailen ever, literally so excited for his book. That sneak peek at the end had me squealing! Definitely check out this book if you love grumpy sunshine, fated mates, slight miscommunication, space heist, HEA, and so much more. So pumped for the next book in the Fated Mates of Zaarn Series. Also, I will take all the crumbs I can get of Captain Wrin because I am obsessed with him and have no shame in begging that he gets his own book.
Sofie, the female human metallurgist and engineer lead, has been sold as a pet to rich lizard people who are keeping her to entertain children, even though they know she’s sentient. Raxnor, the male alien infiltration specialist lead, has been sent to extract Sofie. He’s shocked to find his body responding as though she’s his fated mate, but his past experiences have left him certain he’s no one's best choice for a partner.
Additionally, Raxnor’s team and the other rescued humans are attempting to solve the overarching plot problem of another alien species that’s trying to control all sentient life. Fortunately, Sophie’s speciality skills are exactly what they needed. Now they just need to extract some specialist equipment from the place they just extracted Sofie from…
This story is dual POV, well written, and another excellent story by this author, continuing an interesting and engaging overarching plot but in a manner that allows each story to stand alone (though each one is great fun to read). I enjoyed Sofia’s confidence in her skills, counterbalanced with the trauma she’s carrying from being enslaved. I enjoyed Raxnor’s gentle care and gruff protectiveness balanced against his lack of self esteem. I enjoyed the character development and the way they built each other up and encourage one another’s progress. I enjoyed their relationship development and their erotic intimate scenes. I enjoyed the secondary character integration and seeing characters from earlier in the series actively involved in the overarching plot. I’m looking forward to more in this series - there’s a couple of aliens I’m hoping get a mate soon!
I received a complimentary copy from the author and this is my voluntary honest review.
Married to the Alien Rogue was another awesome space adventure in the Fated Mates of the Zaarn series. It had everything I love about the series, fated mates finding each other, a thrilling space heist, and an adorable pet friend!
Sofie woke up from cryo being sold to an alien who doesn't see her as anything more than a pet for her kids. She has no idea where the other humans of her ship are or if they're even alive. Raxnor is one of the Zaarn exiled upon not finding a mate. He has seen some of his fellow Daredevils mate with humans, but doesn't think he'll ever find a mate of his own. When he's sent on a rescue mission to find and retrieve Sofie, he could never have imagined that his life is about to change forever.
I really enjoy the storyline of this series, every book focuses on a pair of mates while continuing the overarching storyline. I also love the found family vibes and comraderie of the characters in the books. Sofie and Raxnor are both far away from their families and where they grew up, but they turn to each other for comfort and healing and to build a life together.
I also loved the tender and sweet romantic moments and the hot and spicy scenes. I am sucker for a book with a mating frenzy. Those Zaarn tails are just so much fun 🔥
If you like fun space heists, brooding but sweet alien men, cute space animals, and mating heats, this is the book for you!
We first met Raxnor and Tark in Wanted by the Alien Rogue. Raxnor was a total grump, but with that wonderful Zaarn dry humor and protectiveness. Sofie is another woman sold by the Grug, this time to a Tula Senator as a pet to entertain her children. Raxnor and Tark fly to Tularia to rescue the human once Kirel discovers her sale. Sofie is a ray of sunshine, but she appreciates Raxnor’s rescue and protection as they run from the Tula. Of course, Sofie is Raxnor’s fated mate! This couple was sweet and charming, though Raxnor fears it’s not meant for him to find lasting happiness. This book has more fascinating world building, as it is the first time we visit Tularia with all its fascinating lizard species, including dragons, and Sofie finds and bonds with a purple kreecat. After a few missteps due to his fear of getting rejected, Raxnor begins to show Sofie how much she means to him. Krista penned one of the most romantic descriptions of a fated mate ever - soul’s breath. Totally swoon-worthy! This group face more danger and adventure with some surprises thrown in before Raxnor and Sofie do get that HEA! I can’t wait for Tark’s chance at love. There is so much to love about this series!
I love the world built for adventure.
Another awesome Kreecat, loyal bonded pet; an awesome Lila.
An experience for a dragon ride.
Friendship between Tark & Raxon. Camaraderie between Zaarn warriors.
I love how the other lead characters from previous books in this series still play a big role without overtaking the lead characters in this book.
I love how the conflict between the two worlds has wrapped up to tease the upcoming adventure for the next installment of this series.
I love how each woman has the skill and strength to face the adventures they encounter. Our ball of sunshine, Sofie, is a badass chief mining engineer and metallurgist, and our grumpy infiltration expert, Raxon, is a perfect piece of the missing lonely puzzle.
And most of all, I love how the best was saved for last - the completion of their mating bond. The tail play and adoration between Sofie and Raxon are sexy, hot, and sensual.
I would love to know if Tark will get his own happy ever after. He's such a character. I love how his knowledge, loyalty to friendship, and humour are highlighted in this book."
Another fun installment for the Fated Mates of the Zaarn, this one featuring a fiesty mining engineer human and a grumpy walled off Alien hero.
Waking up in the clutches of an unknown alien is bad enough, but when you are sold as a "pet" for some alien lizard children its a whole different level of misery.
Sophie is just making the best of her situation, trying to get by until during an outdoor excursion she runs smack into a big blue alien, who tells her her is there to rescue her. It doesn't hurt that he is gorgeous, strong and has a protective streak a mile wide. As they travel farther and grow closer, she can't help but feel something growing between them, if only her big blue alien would open up and let her in.
This one was really great featuring a roadtrip not only through the stars to try to stop the ever evil Grug but also through a new planets colorful jungle (complete with steamy waterfall scene), and of course what I have come to love from these books including protective aliens, fated mates, forced proximity and lots of found family.
I received an advanced copy of this story but all opinions are my own.
ARC Review
Married to the Alien Rogue by Krista Luna is a sci-fi romance. It's the fourth book from the "Fated Mates of the Zaarn" series.
This one is about Sofie Perez, a mining engineer, and metallurgist, that was bought by a Tula Senator as an exotic pet for her lizard kids. Raxnor and his friend Tark were tasked to save her. Since Raxnor was an infiltration expert he was the one who found her and fought to bring her to the spaceship. When he found out that she was his fated mate he felt the need to protect her with his life. And he was extremely proud the moment Sofie admitted that she could help
them in their "war" against the Grug.
Great story filled with action and romance. In this one, the fight is with the lizard aliens while they try to find out ways to win against the Grugs. I loved that we got to see the rest of the group and how well they worked together, like a family. The pets are going to be my favorite part of every book.
If you like sci-fi romance novels then read this book and the whole series. I will rate it with 4 stars.
This series continues to keep me hooked. In this book, Raxnor detours from his current mission when the Zaarn discover a woman is being kept as a pet. Sofie woke from stasis and was immediately sold to a lizard alien politician as a pet for her kids. Which was definitely not her dream job as metallurgist and engineer for her ships mission.
So Raxnor snatches her up and they escape the planet, after a few days walk and a ride on a dragon. During which, they become very close, but things aren’t quite as smooth as Sofie thinks they are. So even once they are making their way back to the others, these two have a few issues to work out. And then they need to work on Raxnor’s original mission. Which just happens to involve a special metal.
Raxnor is a sweet guy, but he doesn’t have a lot of confidence when it comes to his relationship with Sofie. He’s pretty much his own worst enemy in that regard. A life of being looked over and disregarded has left him expecting the same from her. Sofie is an upbeat and open person, and it takes her a minute to see that his reticence isn’t really about her.
It was a lot of fun to read Sofie’s excitement over finally being able to use her knowledge and contribute in the mission against the tyrants running the galaxy here. The overarching story with this fight is still a highlight of this series, and I love that we are discovering more of their treachery and seeing the Zaarn rise above what they’ve been conditioned to believe and rally with others.
“I’d do it again in a heartbeat. For you are my heart, my most special Zo-Fee. Protecting you is selfish, for I could not live without your joy to light my life.” I did not lie. “My existence was a colorless, drab thing until I found you, lacking love and delight.”
This is the continuing saga of the fate of the women of Ark 1, who leave Earth seeking a new life.They soon find that space is a whole new ballgame.
In this episode, mining engineer/metallurgist Sofie Perez is rescued by Raxnor, a Zaarn warrior, who realizes that she is his fated mate. Both have had many disappointments in love, and need to work on their communication and trust issues.
I really like the characters in this book. Sofie is brave, smart, and has a good attitude toward her situation. Raxnor is strong, protective, and admires Sofie for her intelligence and expertise. Raxnor's best friend Tark is supportive of the couple, helping to smooth the path of their relationship.
I like that this is not just a romance. There is plenty of action, propelling the story of the women of Ark 1, and the men from Zaarn who are also trying to make a new home for themselves, while finding a way to end the domination of the Grug. And the final sweetness is the kreecat Lila, who befriends Sofie. I can't hardly wait for the next installment of the story.
I needs me a space kitty!
Another great book in the series chock full of action, adventure, suspense, and rounded out with a sweet and spicy romance! I’m really enjoying going on these adventures with our couples.
This time we have Sofie and Raxnor. I don't always connect as well with the fmc for some reason, but this time I really loved Sofie and how bold and unafraid she was with her emotions. It was kind of by accident at first lol, she didn’t know he could understand her language, but then she just went with it.
And of course Raxnor was the complete opposite lol. Our big grumpy protector was pretty closed off but I really liked seeing him grow and try to communicate better, I think sofies fearlessness really helped him do that too.
The chemistry was great with this couple and the spice was spicing! It was a medium-fast burn, I’ll give it 3.5/5 🌶!
I also really love how this author writes the alien pets! The sweet, sassy, cuddly little guys really add something. Even though there are always pets in the book, I never get tired of them! An all over great read!
Rating 4.5 ⭐️ Spice: 🌶️
I absolutely love this series, and Married to the Alien Rogue was a great edition to the series. We follow a new couple and a new mission. And a new planet. I had amazing time reading this. Raxnor is just a sweet grumpy bean. I love him. How he talks about Sofie is beyond sweet and his backstory made me bawl. It was action packed, plot driven, with a little bit of spice. I can’t wait to see what this series holds in the future. This is my comfort series. Whether I need a laugh, a cry, or a smile. I will always turn to this series to give me all the feels 💙
.
I took have a half a star of my rating because in my person opinion a lot of world building information is repeated over and over. Information that has been established already. That was my only complaint about the story. But I will round it to 5 in case this was meant for the series to be interconnected stand-alones. I just found the information redundant because I have read the four other books.
2.5 * I was glad to have the next in the series however I didn't like this couple as much as I liked the others. What irritated me about this was that despite knowing she was his fated mate he didn't tell her and he was already giving up on his chance of having fated mate. I didn't understand where he was getting his information from.... because how he was saying that another Zaarn could react to her as well and that has never happened before in any of the books and how he was saying that she could be attracted to another Zaarn. While I understood his concerns after we got told a bit of his back story it just didn't make sense because Zaarn knew fated mates as permanent and only having one even if she was human so I didn't understand why he was so ready to give up. Besides that, We got another adorable kreecat and the only advancements to the plot is that we got to the metals to make more of the helmets and a potential ally that's about it.
As ever, I have fallen for another grumpy one. No idea what it is about them but there it is. Raxnor and his partner Tark, have been introduced before in previous books. Raxnor is very capable and completely floored by finding his mate. He never believed that it would ever happen but he's accepted it along with the fact that she might not choose him in return. If that be the case he won't stand her way. He just wants her to be happy. Sofie is a delight. She's funny, adaptable and while not in-your-face agressive she will stand up if it needs to be done. She has a skill that the Zaarn did not even consider.
Krista just has the knack for writing characters that you would love to be friends with (mostly the female characters) and pine over (the Zaarn). They come across as so real (sadly not for the Zaarn) that you fall into the world-building and don't want to leave. I cannot wait to see if Tark fares any better!
Raxnor is a grumpy alien that sets off yo rescue a human women from being a pet to lizard type aliens. Sofie is the sunshine to Raxnor's grumpy attitude. She's also his fated mate, but Raxnor convinces himself he's not good enough for her and she can find someone else. When they return to Raxnor's ship, he becomes possessive and protective. Sofie knows about mining materials, when their mission is to return to the planet and the lizard aliens Sofie escaped from Raxnor is more determined to keep Sofie safe and come to terms with his feelings for his fated mate.
Entertaining, wonderful characters, steamy, danger, action and adventure, drama, fated mates, sexy alien males, fiesty human women, happily-ever-after for the main characters, everything I want in a good story. Loved this book.
I voluntarily received and reviewed an ARC of this book.
