Kobus Galloway, a Cape Town-based illustrator and comic strip designer, has created a unique collection of comic strips called Idees Vol Vrees. The comics, which are based on Afrikaans, have gained popularity in South Africa, with the first edition published by Zebra Press in October 2011. Galloway started drawing at six and studied graphic design after school. The series, which features ambiguous puns and quirky, witty Afrikaans cartoons, has quickly gained a following of over 30,000 fans. The collection includes over 150 cartoons, including popular ones and over 50 new ones that have not appeared anywhere else.
