Hello!

Stories, whether fiction or non-fiction, are the best way to entertain, share life lessons, and connect with people. I started my adult life intending a career as a filmmaker and novelist, took a long detour via a spiritual search and an academic career as a political scientist, and have landed in late adulthood back in creative writing.

Over the years I have written four books, a screenplay, and numerous articles and essays. Please check out my blog, where I share my love of the art of narrative in books and movies and journal on my own evolving life as a writer.

In addition to writing I teach meditation, having practiced for over forty years, and have a part-time counseling practice.

My wife and I live in beautiful Eugene, Oregon.
