So inspirational! Essentially his idea is to "Go big or go home."

If you are going to do something, you might as well do it on a big scale for a bigger result/payout.

Want to start a foundation or organization to help people? Do not aim for helping 5 or 10 people per month. Aim for helping 100, 200, 500 people per month. If you "fail" and "only" help half of that number look how great the result still is.

Want to start a business? Do not aim for $1,000 per month. Go for $5,000 or $10,000 per month!

If its worth going for, then its worth going big!

I enjoyed reading Mattress Mack's book about how he and his wife Linda started with nothing and eventually built a highly successful business using time-tested strategies, like working hard, setting BIG goals, being positive, giving back to others, and always having integrity. Anyone who lived in Houston during the last 4 decades will surely know Jim McIngvale ("Mack) for his wacky commercials, highly successful furniture business, and big-hearted charitable giving.

This book shares Mack's journey to creating the biggest single retail store in America as well as many common sense tips that will surely help anyone find their own version of success. What I found most interesting was his life prior to becoming a successful businessman in Houston. I had no idea that he played football in college (despite being under-sized) or started a line of health clubs in the Dallas area that eventually went bankrupt before he and his wife finally moved to Houston to create Gallery Furniture. Learning about his past struggles in business and in life and how he turned it all around was very inspiring.

Even though this book is almost 2 decades old, I found it is just as helpful and inspiring today as it most likely was when it was first published in 2002. I give it two thumbs up!
