Diese neu vorgelegte Textedition des Nag-Hammadi-Codex II,4 beruht auf einer Autopsie des Codex im Koptischen Museum zu Alt-Kairo und ber�cksichtigt dar�ber hinaus im kritischen Apparat auch die Ergebnisse aller fr�heren Editionen. Der sprachlichen Erschlie�ung des Textes dient das umfassende grammatische Register, das in der bew�hrten Tradition des Berliner Arbeitskreises f�r koptisch-gnostische Schriften Berlin steht. Die Kommentierung des Textes konzentriert sich auf den Text in seiner vorliegenden Form. M�gliche Vorformen und Traditionen werden dabei (insbesondere im Blick auf UW NHC II,5) diskutiert, von literarkritischen Scheidungen wird jedoch abgesehen. �ber die Forschungsgeschichte informiert neben Angaben zu Ort, Zeit, Verfasser, Empf�ngern, Sprache, literarischer Gestalt und religionsgeschichtlicher Einordnung die Einleitung.

Superb detailed study of the old gnostic text The Hypostasis of the Archons (The Reality of the Rulers) whilst that original text itself is not too long and is a kind of gnostic take on the OT creation story in parts, this work has with it alot supplemental chapters on the text, its translations, its grammar and also the exegetic commentary as well as further related texts in the appendix and comparisons. The definite best work on the subject in German, and perhaps the only such work.
