This is a childhood classic. The rhymes in the book can help students anticipate the color the chameleons will turn. It also has beautiful illustrations to show all the different chameleons and the colors they changed along the way. I like how it exposes students to some vocabulary like "vermillion" as a shade of red but also keeps it simple with zoo animals and merry-go-rounds.

This was one of my favorite books to read to my boys when they were little.
