Stasia Black

73 books2,094 followers
Stasia was born in Georgia, grew up in Texas, recently spent a freezing five-year stint in Minnesota, and now is happily planted in sunny California, which she will never, ever leave.

She loves writing, reading, listening to podcasts, and has recently taken up biking after a twenty-year sabbatical (and has the bumps and bruises to prove it). She lives with her own personal cheerleader, aka, her handsome husband, and their teenage son. Wow. Typing that makes her feel old. And writing about herself in the third person makes her feel a little like a nutjob, but ahem! Where were we?

Stasia’s drawn to romantic stories that don’t take the easy way out. She wants to see beneath people’s veneer and poke into their dark places, their twisted motives, and their deepest desires. Basically, she wants to create characters that make readers alternately laugh, cry ugly tears, want to toss their kindles across the room, and then declare they have a new FBB (forever book boyfriend).

Outstanding paranormal romance /fantasy read!!!!
This is Stasia Black's follow up to Monsters Bride and it was fabulous!!! This hit a total home run for me with excellent writing and phenomenal characters and a great storyline that I devoured as fast as I could!!! A book that not only had AMAZING hot sex but that pulled so many emotions out of me from crying to cheering to leaving me heartbroken but gave my favorite monster so far from this series his happy ending and left me with not only wet panties but a full heart and maybe even a different perspective on what happens once this thing called life is through! Lets just say I want to end up in the place with sunshine and joy with all things that make life sweet! Because if theirs any chance I'd be ending up in the shadow realm with darkness and shadows walking around confused and lost and sad I think I'd loss it! Fuck that shit!!! Thing pulled at my heart from the beginning and his story of creation by his creator and father had me crying my ass off! What a fucking bastard he was !! But between his father and later his brother who chained him in the basement and treated him like a monster it was heart breaking but thanks to Hannah his brothers wife he was freed. Thing's existence is lonely and he spends more time in the shadow realm until he crosses paths with the beautiful and dangerous Ksenia!! Ksenia has been her fathers top assassin for a long time and is shut down emotionally since they killed her mother years ago when she was just a child. She's ruthless and feared by many in the Bravta and has a bloody reputation with using her knives so when her and her father are lured by her uncle to a cabin in hopes of her father to take his place as the head of the organization again they are betrayed by her uncle! Together Thing/Kharon and Ksenia set out to get her back to civilization so she can get her revenge but what happens along the way is a bonding of two souls that have lived their own hell for way to long! Both will have to trust each other and heal old wounds and finally forgive what happened in their past's. I loved both Kharon and Ksenia!! Two characters that I will never forget!! And the steamy scenes either! Can you imagine what a guy with six hands can do? Read this book and you'll see all the delicious things he did!!! Ksenia is one very lucky woman!! And in closing I have to mention theirs a couple of twists with the dead rising to make things more interesting and a beautiful baby girl with fangs and little wings that will steal your heart and also my favorite conjoined twins Romulus/Remus are back!! Romulus is still awesome and level headed and a great uncle to baby Raven but Remus is still a demented prick and shouting that Ksenia has been sent to be his consort! But I about pissed myself from laughing when they put baby Raven in his arms!!!! He never let Romulus take over so fast! I think she scares the shit out of him!😂And then their's Hannah and Adaddon.Fatherhood has made him even more of a territorial beast! Everyone is a suspect and working with the mysterious angel that's watching them. So Ksenia showing up put him on high alert and even Hannah consort/wife and baby Raven can only do so much to soften up this beast boy edges! Can't wait for Romulus/Remus story! Remus is tried of waiting for his consort ! It ought to be quite interesting seeing who he'll end up with! May the force be with her! Because he's a handful on any given day and I can't imagine him in love! Until next time Luv's💕💋

No one has ever wanted me except for her. But wanting me in this place, when there is no one else, and she needed comfort, is one thing. Back in the world, she’s a beautiful, exceptional woman. . . No, it is foolish of me even to dream it. I am a monster, and a monster I will always be. A name does not change the fact that I was born a thing.

“I don’t know!” she says, shredding the blade of grass. “I want to not be in control. For fucking once. I crave it. But it—” She cuts herself off. “What? But it, what?” “It terrifies me,” she finally admits. “Trusting anyone that much. To truly give control over. And there’s still so much we—” Again, maddeningly, she stops her own speech. “What?” I demand again. “So much we, what?” “So much we don’t know about each other.” Then she amends, “So much you don’t know about me.” “Then tell me.” I sit down on the grass beside her, and her eyes flash my way and then back at the grass. “I can’t,” she says. “Why?” “I don’t know how.”

6-armed monster romance!

The following ratings are out of 5:
Romance: 🖤💙❤️💜
Heat/Steam: 🔥🔥🔥🔥
Story/Plot: 📕📗📘📙
World building: 🌏🌍🌎🌍🌎
Character development: 🙂🥰😎 😃😋

The heroine: Ksenia - she is the daughter of a Russian Bratva leader. He mother was murdered years ago, and her father went a little nuts and killed the men that did it and their entire families. He was exiled but still ran his empire. He taught his daughter about weapons and how to defend herself. She took to it so well that she became his best assassin. Her uncle stayed in Russia and was the right-hand man to her father, until he decided he wanted to be the leader. Ksenia and her father were at a cabin in the mountains in the winter when her uncle and his men attacked. Ksenia got away and somehow ended up near a castle.

The Hero: Thing - he is a massive blue monster with six arms. He was made by his creator/father along with his brothers, though they never were good enough. His father was an angel with a lot of anger, he created the four horsemen and set them loose on humanity. Thing was known as death because of his ability to walk with the dead and accompany them to another realm. They reigned for thousands of years until the creator/father died. When one of their brothers died, another brother, Abbadon locked Thing and his last brother Remus/Romulus up in the dungeon for over two centuries. Now the brothers get along and live together in their castle.

The Story: Thing finds Ksenia running alone in the snow-covered forest. He takes her to the castle where she stays for a night. Though she has to get back to her father’s cottage in the woods to see if he survived and to take her revenge on her uncle and his men. Thing offers to go with her and protect her during the long trek.

I really liked this book. I have been liking monster romance lately, especially when they are uncommon monsters like these. Thing is massive, muscular and has three sets of arms. I love that he is able to do so much with his arms, and he is a gentle giant despite the fact that he is known as the horseman, Death. The world building is great, and I really liked both characters.

Very short read. I felt that the romance was underdeveloped and that there was more lust than love. The dynamics of their intimate relationship didn’t make sense for their respective pasts either but that could just be me

Well, I did like the hero. I always like the giant dangerous sweet teddy bears. His story is incredible and actually what kept me reading. I also liked that Ksenia wasn't a whiny ninny. That would have annoyed me 😆
I liked the bickering between the brothers.
I did not like the pair's spontaneous dom/sub relationship in the bedroom. Doesn't make sense with her past. Nor with his.

SPOILERS:
Some consistency issues:

Hannah is supposedly nursing her daughter but is drinking wine for dinner?

Where did Ksenia get the money for the tickets if she had nothing on her when she fled.

Way better than the first book in my opinion the love story was more slower and natural and it didn’t feel like she was forced into anything even though she only met him because his father manipulated him and her but still way better and I loved the fight with the brothers and their father.

Thing /Kharon (H), an angel of death, is unlike his brothers, finding solace in solitude. But when Ksenia, a fierce woman fleeing her own tragedy, crashes into his world, their unexpected connection sparks a powerful, raw, and passionate romance. Their story delves into the psyche of these complex characters, both haunted by death and violence. Ksenia's initial abrasiveness conceals her hidden vulnerability, while Thing, a monster with a heart of gold, reveals a softer side as their relationship deepens. As they join forces to confront their pasts and solve Ksenia's problems, their love blossoms amidst the chaos, violence, steamy scenes, and moments of sweetness. Amidst violent scenes and passionate moments, the story explores the profound impact of shared experiences and family, even among monsters. The chemistry between Thing and Ksenia is undeniable, and their journey toward happiness is both heartrending and captivating. A unique and steamy romance with a story of redemption, acceptance, and love blossoming in the most unexpected places.

I liked this better than the first.

I still didnt like the heroine, man this series they are so demanding and bitchy and require this emotional depth from the monsters which is almost amusing but I do appreciate the attempt the author has made with neurodiversity.

The storyline was interesting and I liked the Hero and his development.

The Bdsm seemed forced. Like this weird addition so they could add orgasm denial to the sex scenes. I like BDSM novels, I didn't think the first in this series was BDSM but this one makes every attempt to be. It just seems unnecessary when it's a monster romance. Like dude had 6 arms but her love of delayed Os and power exchange somehow became the kink.

This is my first book from Stasia Black and I loved it. Book 1 (Monster’s Bride) was on my Kindle previously but never got around to reading it. I needed some strange smut and I thought this would be it given the big boy with 6 arms on the cover, but it turned out to be sweet and romantic AF. A wonderful surprise.

I was not expecting to like this book as much as I did. I also did not expect to be into monsters with 6 arms… I thought 4 arms in IHP was weird enough. Turns out, 6 arms sound like a dream and I can’t wait to read about more monsters with 6 arms.

Ksenia is an absolute badass, thrown into a universe she does not understand. I wasn’t expecting Thing to be as innocent as he is, but it was oddly charming. Also their bedroom dynamic… oh buddy 😂 She’s stubborn and hell-bent on revenge, he’s clueless but completely enamored. Both are battling the darkness inside them and layers of guilt and trauma from their past. There’s surprising depth to each character and a fully formed universe that was easy to understand.

Super Sweet

Monster Romance! Kharon, formerly known as Thing, was a true cupcake of a monster for Ksenia. Almost too sweet! Different types of characters and a different, more complex plot made this story interesting!

God this whole story is just absolutely delicious. I am eating up these books left and right.

Thing was such a sweetheart in this and honestly he might be my favorite of the four horsemen. Quite frankly I am loving this series and I am going to continue it.

I love how the whole plot is the romance. It’s the two characters coming to terms with their lives and then coming to terms with their love for each other.

I did not expect this much love for this series if I am being honest but I am pleasantly surprised and will be reading the rest of them.

I have been patiently waiting for Things story and Stasia did him so much justice. I thought he was going to be so aggressive and violent, and he can because he is Death, but there is a softer side too.
Ksenia is running from her own tragedy and finds herself in the clutches of a 6 armed monster.
This couple tries to find balance and discover a mutual attraction and adoration of each other. As they explore and finally share their tragic pasts they embark on a mission to solve Ksenia’s problems and their relationship soars.
Sparks are flying, enemies are destroyed, and love blooms ❤️

Before reading Thing I would highly recommend that you read Monster's Bride as they are books that are sequential. I mean technically I suppose you could read them as standalones, but trust me your overall reading experience will be more enjoyable if they are read in this order. The characters are part of each others stories and events that take place in Monster's Bride will be part of this story. There is an explanation given to how these monster brothers came into exitance as well as the reason for their behaviors. There is a more in depth background given about the main male character in their individual stories.

Stasia Black did an amazing job bringing to life this paranormal world with wonderful characters who were easy to love and feel empathy towards. I will admit I enjoyed this book more than Monster's Bride. I had a deeper connection with both Thing and Ksenia. When I picked up Thing I had no idea Stasia would have me crying while reading. This story was very emotional for me - it was equally divided between the two. The plot was original, it was full of action and there were some incredibly hot steamy scenes making for one entertaining read. If you are looking for excitement you will definitely find it within the pages of this book.

Ksenia comes out of nowhere bloody and afraid running for her life into a world that is freezing cold and covered in snow. Thing is shocked when he sees a strange human woman running through his icy world wondering how it is even possible for her to be there. Upon seeing Thing for the first time Ksenia becomes hysterical and runs away from him only to get hurt. Thing takes his little human home so that she can be healed. Thing tries to show Ksenia he has no intention of hurting her and that she is safe with him. The only interest she has is to return home and find out what happened to her father. Ksenia plans to revenge him. Thing sets out to help Ksenia return to the world she came from, but little do these two know they are in for one crazy adventure. Chemistry begins to build between Ksenia and Thing the more time they spend together. Eventually they give into their building carnal desires only to discover a passion beyond anything they could have ever imagined. Will it even be possible for them to say goodbye knowing they will never see one another again once Ksenia crosses over into her world?

Thing, the male monster lead, was created to be the bringer of death and, with his three monstrous brothers, traveled as the Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse in ancient times. Now, centuries after their Father-Creator having killed one of their brothers and another brother having killed him in response, Thing struggles to find meaning and purpose in life, especially now one brother has found a wife/consort (previous story in series).

Ksenia, the female human lead, is a Bratva leader’s daughter but she’s spent most of her life in hiding since her mother was killed and her father took such gruesome revenge that paying off investigators wasn’t an option. A skilled assassin, she’s been working to restore her father’s situation but she and her father just walked into an ambush organised by her uncle - the one person they trusted. Having fled to save her life, she finds herself on the doorstep of a castle that shouldn’t exist, with monsters that can’t possibly be real, and the only entity she feels safe with is “Thing”, who she firmly believes requires a name.

This story is dual POV, well written, and an angsty, monster/human, redemption romance. Both lead characters know they’re killers but Thing feels guilty about it whilst Ksenia feels resigned to it. Neither wants to keep doing it though. I enjoyed Ksenia’s personality and temperament - either neurodiverse or due to trauma (or both), she presents in a non-standard fashion - I enjoyed her coping strategies for dealing with the world. I enjoyed Thing’s character development. I appreciated how Ksenia was able to change his perspective on himself, which allowed him to make choices by the end of the story that he wouldn’t have been capable of at the start. I enjoyed their intimate interactions, with Thing a virgin on commencement, and the way they were able to negotiate to a relationship they both enjoyed immensely. I enjoyed the secondary character integration and am looking forward to more of the series, especially seeing how inter-character relationships continue to develop.

I received a complimentary copy from the author and this is my voluntary honest review.

Two personalities so different... and so similar.
Thing - yes, that's his name - was created for destruction. As a Superior Being of War (not exactly a god, but in the human view he would be a god), he always knew that his goal in life was to destroy and be alone.
Seeing his older brother, Abbadon, finding a human as a mate gave him faint hope that he might have one himself. But with such a strange appearance (his skin color and having 6 arms) and living in a land whose runes keep it hidden from human eyes, how could he find a mate for himself?

Ksenia was raised by a father involved in mafia business not to be a little princess, but rather to be a cold-blooded killer. Her knife collection is huge, and for years she has specialized in destroying her father's nemesis.
Until his own father was ambushed (by his brother!), and Ksenia was almost murdered too.
Running away from her uncle, she finds herself in a forest, scared and covered in blood, and is helped by a mythical creature.
Taken to the castle where Thing, his brothers, Hannah and Raven (his niece) live, she is helped, despite Abbadon's wishes, who thinks she is a spy for the mysterious Angel.

Ksenia only has one objective: to return to the city to kill her uncle.
Thing promises to help her get there - as she would get lost in the forest.

As they travel, little by little the silent Ksenia lets herself get closer to Thing - now called Kharon.
Kharon is more open in telling about his and his brothers' history, but she still remains secretive.
Finding so many characteristics in common - the extra death makes them come closer and closer.

The story, with some action, is a slow burn.
Thing/Kharon shows us that a scary appearance does not mean having a Machiavellian personality. In many ways, Ksenia may be more evil than him.
The couple with total chemistry, captures the reader at the same speed as their love.

A Simply wonderful read with great characters and a story that will hold your attention throughout

I have to say that you will thoroughly enjoy every moment of this wonderfully written story, Thing has been written wonderfully and Thing is such a dramatic character but he has to be dramatic and violent if they are going to survive but he also has a side that he does not show to others often and that is the softer side and this is because he knows the face of death and what it means.

Ksenia is running from her own tragedy and finds herself in the clutches of a 6-armed monster, yet the attraction that she also felt for him is something that she fails to understand.

The couple have to find a balance and a mutual attraction has started and the adoration that is felt between the two is all that is important and they adore each other. As they become close to each other and they share their stories they are able to appreciate that both of them have seen evil and terrible things.

As they fight together side by side and embark on their mission to solve the Ksenia problems there are sparks flying and as enemies are being destroyed their love blooms and it become stronger by the day and I am sure you will enjoy this wonderful read.

I assure you that you will love every moment of this book it is simply a fantastic read.

I feel to get the best out of this series you should start with Monster’s Bride. You get to meet all the characters that are in this book. This series is interconnected and I really liked Thing when I met him in book one. He may be blue and have 6 arms, but he is fabulous. He has had a very hard time since his creation. He is known as Death and takes the sounds to another plane. Ksenia bursts into his life literally and he is very intrigued by her. He is having feelings he doesn’t understand. Ksenia opens him up to a different world so to speak. These two are perfectly meant for each other. He thinks of her as the sun and him as the moon. He may think they can’t be together, but he couldn’t be more wrong. There is still the problem of the Angel the brothers are looking for and Abaddon thinks she may be a spy and doesn’t fully trust her. Thing tells her he will get her back to where she needs to be and while they are on this journey they learn more about the other. They had a strong connection before and it becomes even stronger as time goes on. And OMGOSH! The chemistry they have is hotter than hot. The s€c, wow. Use your imagination on what can happen when your partner has six arms. 😈😈😈 This is such a fabulous series that has sucked me right in and I cannot wait for Romulus and Remus’s story. Remus had me chuckling during this story and I can’t wait to see what he does to have his consort. This story has action, suspense, more action, revelations, and some shocks that o never saw coming. This was a great story and I love Thing/Death/Kharon and Ksenia.

Thing is one of the experiments that the Creator-Father, a celestial being made with three others. They are the 4 horsemen. Thing is Death. In the previous book, Abbadon found his mate, Hannah, and they had a baby, Raven. Besides being blue, Thing has 6 arms, and can shadow-walk and realm-jump. Ksenia is running from her uncle and the men of the Bratva. Her father was Pakhan, but something went wrong and there was a coup. She escaped and Thing finds her and she meets everyone in the castle. All she wants to do is get revenge on her Uncle Pavel for what happened. She doesn’t know if her dad is dead or not. Remus, one half of the conjoined twins with Romulus, swears that Ksenia is his consort. It makes me laugh every time. Out of the three brothers- Abbadon, Thing, & Remus/Romulus, it is Remus who freaks me out the most. I like Romulus most of the time, but Remus is just too much.

Thing takes Ksenia back to the city- and that is an adventure by itself! I love everything they learn about each other. She feels safe with him and they decide on a name other than Thing. I really liked that. Ksenia being an assassin was really cool too. I was impressed by her reflexes and I so want to see this as a movie or a show- the whole series. It would be soooo cool! I hope that happens someday. There are a few reveals and revelations in this book that blew my mind. I had figured out one but not the other. Holy cow… I can’t wait to read the next book.

This is a very inventive story by Stasia Black that follows up on one of the characters in her earlier book Monster's Bride. I'm fascinated by the way Black is able to throw some high-power musings on myth, life after death, family dynamics, living on the spectrum, and dealing with trauma into a romance novel. The heroine, Ksenia, is a Bratva princess (and assassin) who stumbles into an encounter with creatures so fantastical it takes her a while to believe that such apocalyptical entities can truly exist. And the big blue one with six arms has a thing for her! Sure, he has self-worth issues and likes the calm of living in the shadows, but he's just the guy to help her get revenge on her back-stabbing uncle. He doesn't mind her absorption with knives or her OCD behaviors (NEVER let the vegetables touch the meat on your plate). Their social awkwardness is a common bond and they're both carrying a load of past trauma. It's a match made in heaven, or at least on some plane of existence. There's page-turning excitement and unexpected wit and humor. Oh, and let's not forget the hot and naughty bits. A fun read that makes me look forward to the forthcoming story of Thing's siblings in Between Brothers.

A fierce and protective gentle giant
Thing: a Monster Romance by Stasia Black is an exciting read while also appealing to my heart. Thing pulled the heartstrings so hard that I just kind of swooned at every gentle and kind interaction he had with Ksenia, Hannah and baby Raven. But, it's not all gentle and kind in this book. Ksenia is all warrior woman as she has had to be most of her life. Recent events have brought her into Thing's realm bloody and traumatized.
The relationship developing between Thing and Ksenia is slow, but trust comes along with attraction and safety. All that combines into passion and feelings although neither admits to it. But it is so obvious that these characters care for each other deeply as they share parts of themselves with the other. Ksenia even names Thing, Kharon
The plot is also full of action that keeps the reader guessing at every turn. There is something sinister brewing and it goes deep, thoroughly dangerous and encompassing both Ksenia and Thing/Kharon.
Overall, Ksenia is just what Thing/Kharon needs and vice versa. Despite the denials, they are destined to be together. While they come back together for their HEA, there's so much more of this Monster family's story to tell! You really don't want to miss any of it.

Loved the plot

Plot: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
Spice: 🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️

When I first read the description for the book, I wasn't sure if I'd actually enjoy this book. But I was definitely curious enough to try, from the design of his character to the fact that we actually get a detailed look at what he looks like. Nothing is left to imagination, which I actually enjoy. I'm not a fan of creating my own image cause I always suck at it.

Plot wise, I enjoyed the progression and how the book went back and forth between their dramatic backstories. I will admit, I wasn't a fan of the main girl's perspective. At least not until after way through the book when she actually becomes easier to read.
It's not that she's a bad character or written wrong, I just didn't connect to her like I normally do with the main character. She just just annoyed me.
But by the end of it, I did eventually fall in love with her as she slowly changed and opened up more. It's like a love/hate feeling.

The reason I didn't 5 stars is mainly because of the small things, some of the characters threw me off, some of the sentences didn't make sense. Mainly personal things.
All in all, if you want fantasy, Spice, and definitely Hands Mik' Handsie then this book is for you. 1000%

💘💘"Thing by Stasia Black"💘💘

Kharon "Thing" is a sweetheart despite his exterior.Ksenia is a bravta princess. They both were perfect for each other.Even though Ksenia was his redemption, Kharon was also her home and the only person who could heal her. They both needed eachother, they supported each other.

I really liked the snippets of Hannah and Abaddon and their baby Raven😍😍and Remus' character as a uncle 🤣🤣.

I am a little bit disappointed at the ending.Creator-Father deserved worse.I hate that man with all of the blood in my veins. That man was a piece of shit father and a total abuser. So yeah he deserved worse but still the book was overall great.

P.s.-Can't wait for Remus

Thing by Stasia Black is a monster romance. I never saw myself reading a monster romance. This is Ksenia and Thing/Kharon’s story.

He is not human. Thing was made. He has 6 arms, and he is blue. He is a couple of centuries old, an angel of death and has lived most of that time alone. He is craving friendship and a mate.

This actually turned out to be a good book and story. I really felt for Thing. He might look a bit unusual, but he is actually kind and considerate, yet he can have a domineering side.

Ksenia gives Thing a real name, other than “Thing”, it’s Kharon. And how many times have I wished that I had 6 hands/arms. They can come in handy.

I loved Kharon and Ksenia’s romance. She doesn’t see him as a monster, well she might have at the beginning.

This book is easily read as a standalone. Monster’s Bride is the first book in this Monster’s series, and I didn’t read it. I didn’t know that there was a book before Thing. But I will rectify it and read Monster’s Bride as soon as possible. And what an imagination that Stasia Black has!

'I only want to ensure she is protected from whatever set her running in the first place... they will learn how wrong they were to terrify this small woman, however capable she seems with those blades of hers. Because I am Death incarnate. And as much as I have determined to change my ways, for this cause—remembering the abject terror on her face as she fled through the woods—I will not mind a little backsliding.'

The first thing that drew me to this book was the cover. The male looks powerful and fascinating. The story synopsis was intriguing- I knew there would be so much depth there- and with a male named Thing, this was a character I had a feeling I'd adore. And I wasn't wrong. He both broke my heart and won it on the very first page. I loved this book. Great world building and wonderful characters. Ksenia was strong and quick, but clearly no match for Thing and his brothers. Her reaction to suddenly encountering monsters was believable. The story was fast-paced and I was hooked to learn how she got there, what happened to her father, and see the relationship develop between her and Thing. This is the first book I've read by this author and I would read more. 5 stars.

So very good and unique

This story was so very good, it had a unique perspective, I never thought I would find a blue, six armed, "Thing" hot, but here we are (and, well, having six arms is clearly so much "handier" than two!).

Kharon (Thing) and Ksenia, are not "typical", but that is why they are so well suited to each other. I loved the relationship they develop, how they find an understanding with each other that they have not had before.

I enjoyed the touches of humour, like using baby Raven to manipulate Remus (you will have to read the book to understand that).

Then there is almost a story within a story, so well written.

I have read the previous book (Monster's Bride), you don't need to have read it for this book, however it does provide more back-story to some of the characters (Things "brothers"), who they are, and how they came to be.

I am really looking forward to Romulus and Remus' book.

This followup standalone is all about the multi-armed, broody brother. After being treated like little more than a mindless animal for thousands of years by his father and then by his brother, you can understand why Thing has a chip on his shoulder for people who judge him by his looks - his his brothers being on that list. The past is a bitter pill to swallow when you must be confronted by it daily, but aren't ready to deal with it.

There is one thing that Thing knows he wants and that is a love of his own. Seeing someone love his brother for who he is has changed him for the best. Can the same work for Thing? Can it help mend the broken parts?

This monster romance tales you on a ride as these 2 characters find themselves in a world where their broken parts fit together perfectly. Only fear of unknown and the world outside of this little bubble could keep them apart, but will they be able to overcome these obstacles to be together?.

This is Things/Kharon’s story.

We see he likes to live more in solitude than his brothers with their new found freedom. When Ksenia almost runs into him out in the woods by their castle, he’s questioning everything.

Ksenia just saw her uncle end her fathers life and is running to save hers when she runs through the woods that will lead her to more danger.

Thing/Kharon seems to have a softer side around Ksenia. Abbadon, the oldest of the brothers, distrusts her and wants her to leave to go back home. T/K offers to help her get back to civilization. On this journey they learn to trust and help each other. And you know, stuff happens 😘

I like this side of Thing/Kharon. At the end there’s kind of a double plot twist. One thing we knew from the first book, but the other thing that happens, I did not see coming.

I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.
