Michele Grant grew up wanting to be a combination of Maya Angelou, Perry Mason, and Eartha Kitt. Deciding that law books were dusty and boas not practical for everyday wear, she’s still clinging to that Maya Angelou dream.

When not laboring away on the keyboard, she can be found trying to channel her “inner B. Smith”, growing roses, trying new recipes and wondering if just one more throw pillow works with that sofa?

She has Ella Fitzgerald and Kanye West on the same playlist in her iPod, she’s affectionately been given the nickname “Shopping Queen”, and there is not a single fall Sunday where her TV isn’t tuned in to an NFL game.

Contradictory yet contemporary, Michele sees the humor in all things and shares that with her readers.

I think that it is amazing how everyone's reviews of this book are almost identical. White Mocha by Michele Grant was so good. I had never read anything by Michele but will look for her books in future. Wanted: You by Lutisha Lovely, was stupid and confusing. The writing was good and it could have been a good story it just made no sense and was boring. If someone had gotten killed in this story it would have made it sooo much better. From One Lover to Another by Cydney Rax, was just not good. The lead characters were stupid. Again the writing was good and the story could have been good but it lacked something. I am glad that the lead characters did not end up together.

Only gave this book 2.5 stars because I only enjoyed one of the stories and that was the first one. The story caught me from the beginning and it was just a good read. The second book was by Lutishia Lovely which I am usually fan of her work but this story was just strange.....did not captivate me at all and I skipped through it just to see how the end would be and it was just as strange as the beginning. The last book was not too exciting either not so much a fan of Cyndey but I have read better from her. It was just an ok read but just didnt grab my attention as the first story did. Wish the first story could have been a full length novel......for most part ......looking forward to reading more from Ms. Grant......

White Mocha by Michelle Grant is AMAZING. I love her, she's a great author & I can't wait until she comes out with more books. I hated the fact that it was a short story b/c I LOVE her books. They always keep you interested beginning to end. The other two stories in this book aren't horrible, but I'm having a hard time getting into them as compared to White Mocha. They seem to be good stories altogether they're just not always attention keepers. You get a good part & then you're left waiting and waiting on the next good part.

This book gets three stars on the strength of the first story White Mocha alone.

The second was boring so I skipped chapters.

The third was ok at first but got ridiculous and then ending was stupid.

Taking risks, taking chances....is how I will describe these three novellas. In "White Mocha", I really like Jayla's and Jason's chemistry and how they clicked. It was very cute. Kinda college "sweetheartish". Once, Jayla stopped playing it safe, she found herself a man. Hence, sometimes, it's best to venture out of your comfort zone and walk on the wild side. "Wanted: You" Lutisha Lovely served up an episode of "who done it". Chaz was on every woman's wishlist. But the one who was really interested in him was someone who he did not expected. Lutisha Lovely is a good writer who has a vivid imagination. In "Wanted...", readers will be trying to figure out who wants the main character. "From One Lover to Another" was the first time I read anything by Cyndney Rax. This is a tell tale story that what who we think is for us might not be for us after all. And no matter how many times the past might try to come back for you, don't acknowledge it. The only thing I did not like in the story is that one of the main characters said "hospital" instead of "hospitable".

The three stories are completely different and reveal all the feelings of the couple. The only thing I did not like was some characters did not receive their happily ever after.

Crush is an anthology comprised of three novellas. The first, White Mocha, was written by Michele Grant, whom I've never read any of her books before. White Mocha is about a workaholic named Jayla, who begins a steamy love affair with a coffee shop owner. Although a bit predictable, I enjoyed the characters and this was the only story in this collection I liked.

The second story was Wanted: You by Lutisha Lovely, whom I've read a few books by but never been too impressed with any of them. Lois is the homely, shy, and conservative secretary of a prominent, handsome lawyer. He begins receiving erotic letters and emails, which embarrasses Lois, since she is very much in love with her boss. Throughout the story we meet a bevy of women that the letters could be from. This story started out very promisingly and I was dying to know who the letter-writer was. However, I hated the ended, so much so that it ruined the rest of the story for me.

The last story was From One Lover to Another, by Cydney Rax. I've read a few of her books and have liked them. In this story, Lorraine has recently broken up with her hip-hop, gangsta-loving, ebonics-speaking boyfriend Posse, however she hasn't been able to completely let go. She still takes his calls and thinks about him often. She starts seeing one of her coworkers Wendell, but learns that even that isn't a match made in heaven. This story was pretty boring the whole way through and I didn't like Wendell, and I definitely didn't like him with Lorraine.

All in all, this collection of short stories is a fast read, but will not leave a memorable impression at all.

I got borrowed this on audiobook from the library (where I work). I got through 'White Mocha' and liked it. Jayla's reasons for breaking up with Jason were a bit annoying because it felt drama for drama's sake. I stopped in the beginning of the second story because Lois not telling her boss about the letters and reading them, I knew the story was going to progress in a way that also would have annoyed me.

But after listening to 'Throttle Me' this audiobook was much more pleasant to the ears and made it easier to follow the stories.

After the first story by Michele Grant you think what are the other two authors going to bring to the table. Well those stories were a big let down and a complete waste of time. The last story did not make any since and you felt like your being pulled back and forth. Where was this story going? I am almost ashamed I'm admitting I read this book. Michele's was raunchy but at least a cute story.

The perfect man doesn't exist! But reading those lines literally brought me to this peaceful place in my head that i've buried where everything could be as exotic and passionate as these interactions between two genres/ soulmate?
i Loved the mixed stories , according to each another with the same endlessly breathtaking pursuit.,

3 stars for the 1st story only...

The other 2 sucked hence 2stars only overall... Its good that they started with the best one otherwise I wouldn't have finished the book at all if say story 3 had been 1st.

White Mocha was very enjoyable to read, had me anticipating the other two books. Unfortunately they were awful. Slow, boring and unimaginative.
