pretty much every story in this is: a little background + a moment of sexiness (might be a long, involved "moment"), then it's over. so, just be prepared for that and you'll be good to go!

only complaint is that it was so short!

this one was okay, it's hard to follow-up a Stein, but it was engaging for the short duration

so ... "play" is definitely the running theme through these stories ... not sure this was the type of play I was thinking of and can't say I've ever read much of this particular fetish ... i don't know what it's called, but he essentially treats her like a horse - bridle, sugar lumps, tail, and all - and they both get off on it ... not my thing, but i thought it was well-written, so there's that!

You Can Have Me by Justine Elyot
this went from zero to filthy in the blink of an eye she gets slutty in the men's locker room - RH-level of slutty - and, like On Wednesdays We Play, turns out that everyone's in on it at the end, even though it was seemingly spontaneous. i kind of liked that part of it - that she's really with the one guy, the "brute," but they play well with others
would like to read something else by Elyot

this one was a little hard to read (a little too much RL seriousness for me), about a couple going through a rough patch - the husband's lost his high-power job and the wife's working herself to death trying to keep their family afloat. they reach the anniversary and the wife goes all out to make it a special night for him and his present to her is swallowing his pride and getting a job at the hotel she works

friends-to-lovers feels like a lot of these are where the girl's been in love with the guy and the guy's been oblivious ... thankfully, he picks up on her interest when she bares it all ((insert slight eye roll))

The Boy Across the Hall by Kathleen Tudor
neighbors to lovers this one was different in that they've both liked each other, but he was way to shy to make a move and then she got tired of waiting, so she invited him over - you go, girl! - so, i like that she took the initiative. Tudor does explain the guy was burned by his ex - no details - so he was less confident than he might otherwise have been.
this was cute and I'd read Tudor again

I bought it for Charlotte Stein. It was the best story and, unfortunately, the shortest. The horse play one was too weird for me. The rest were mostly average. I’d give 2.5 stars if I could.
