Smoke Screen: Firefighter Badboy Suspense Romance

Rate this book
We all have things in our past that we wish would just stay in our past.

Mine just wouldn’t stay there and aggressively came looking for me even after a zip code change, a new job, and new friends.

I wasn’t looking for romance but every time this sexy firefighter looked at me, he lit a fire in me that only he could put out.

My past wasn’t enough to keep me out of his bed. I just have to keep one step ahead of my past.

He has a past that’s haunting and full of heartache. Losing a loved one and a disturbing life event that threatens to kill him.

Will he drop his walls and move past it or is the past determined to swallow them both up.

Oh my heart! Beth Dell writes mystery romance, but this one will make you cry! Like ugly cry. There is more then one mystery in this story too. Maya has her secrets and Brown has his. Brown is an idiot and nearly loses the girl while Maya flourishes in this small town she landed in. Plot twist! You won't see that coming. And Brown is still an idiot. Maya is a saint to out up with him!

This is a new author to me. I enjoyed reading this story. Held my attention from the start. There is mystery, and suspense.
I will definitely read more.

This book was absolutely amazing. The author did an outstanding job in this book. Start to finish I was totally engrossed in this book. The story had everything I love all wrapped into one a small town where everyone knows everyone, budding romances, and mysteries past and present. In the beginning it crushed me as one of the local fireman loses his life while helping to save others. He happened to be Brown’s best friend, the main character who I grew to love in this book. Lots of things change in the town for everyone when Maya arrives. I honestly was kept in suspense till the very end.
