I liked this book so much I reprinted it.

In collaboration with Frank Dickens' family, we brought out a new hardback edition, so it can be enjoyed by those who remember it from their childhood, and hopefully read by them to their kids.

It's a lovely book about a boy watching his hero (Boffo) riding in a bike race and helping him recover from a disastrous crash, so he can contest the final sprint.

The message of the book - and something of a catchphrase in my family - is "the man is more important than the machine".

Frank Dickens himself is well known to many as the creator of the Evening Standard's "Bristow" cartoon, which ran for 41 years. What a man.

A wonderful illustrated children's book set in the early 1900s at the Tour De France, from the point of view of a young delivery boy. "The man is more important than the machine " says the Great Boffo.

The first book I can remember reading when I was 6 or 7 in the library of Cuxton primary infant school .Whilst the other kids were in assembly , my brother and I waited in the library. I can still see the pictures clearly on my head even after more than 40 years.
