Secret Meeting

Rate this book
Megan and Annie are bright 12-year-old girls, who are desperate to meet their favorite author, Harriet Chance. When Annie makes contact with Harriet's daughter via an Internet chat room, the girls are ecstatic. Lori helps them to arrange a secret meeting with Harriet, and the girls congratulate themselves on being so clever. But when they meet the author she's a bit strange. Why does Megan seem to know more about the author than she does herself? Why does Harriet seem so edgy? Is this really their favorite author, or are the girls in real trouble?

I read this book as a child and it taught me more than any cyber-awareness lecture. I’ve been trying to find it again for years! Was a bit overwhelming at the time, but I liked it.

Internet ma dobre jak i złe strony. To od rodzica zależy, którą ze stron wybierze jego dziecko. A Ty, pomożesz dziecku zadecydować mądrze?

Świetna przestroga i przygoda w jednym. Dla dziecka i rodzica :)

This book was very funny. i rate it 2 because it wasn't really my type except for the comedy. Megan and Annie are two best friends who are dying to meet the favorite author. Harriet chance. but they are not allowed to go on chat rooms. one day they break their promise and go on the chat room to talk to their author.but as they decide to meet each other they realize something odd about her. she looks so different. is this her? or is it not? (they realize that this is not her it is another person acting like Harriet chance)

it was funny when they realized they got tricked by the fake Harriet chance.

Never read this one before. Quite enjoyed it. All about the dangers of chatrooms (very early 00s!) and how people you meet online might not be who they say they are. Refreshingly, the 2 girls in this aren't going to meet up with a boy who turns out to be a 40 year old creep, but one of the characters favourite authors who turns out to be a bit of a nutty woman instead...

Another quickie childhood reread because I remember this one being chilling. And it still was, if a bit heavyhanded. Really creepy! And lots of fun.
