Easy to digest and practical. These meditations reminded me to keep my eyes on Jesus instead on what others are doing, their reactions to me, their success, etc.

This book is a prequel to the first book I read from RT Kendall (The Power of Humility Living like Jesus). The author never failed to expose that even biblical characters struggled with envy and jealousy -- Eve, Cain, Hagar, Sarah, Jacob, Saul, David , Absalom, etc.. Also, he provides practical anecdotes from which we can relate how jealousy can be subtle yet troublesome.

One of the key perspectives I gained from reading this book was that as much as we would want to settle the jealousy we are struggling with , we should also be equally concern with the other people's jealousy of us. As Christians, we should make sure we are also concern with our brothers' and sisters' souls. So if our stature is causing other people to be jealous of us, we should pray for them and rethink to change some ways that we will not be as stumbling block to their walk with Christ, (Rom 13:14) but rather be the "salt and light" to the world.

Jealousy can not only be in love relationships, but in friendships and in familial relationships, etc. in my family of six girls, we were bred to be competitive of each other. Whether that was right or wrong I don't know. I didn't like it. I got this book to rid my life of petty jealous feelings and it has worked! I reference it sometimes, but other than that I feel much better about my relationships and I purged the unrealistic jealousy that I had. Great book.

Liked the second half of the book better as it was more focused on God's sovereignty and having a God-centered perspective on things. The book was mainly about dealing with others' jealousy of us rather than the other way around. Had some good points about dealing with your own jealousy as well, though, especially near the end of the book.

The book has good advice and some great points about navigating Jealousy while giving biblical definitions of envy and jealousy. The book is pretty repetitive though. Was hard to get through the middle chapters. Is a book you could read the first part and the last part and get the same amount out of it.

This was both a surprising and relieving subject to see discuss, because there is so much “little discuss” that I feel with a little bit of bravery, we must sometimes take the chance and challenge ourselves and what we think and talk about.

One of them….jealousy.

To say we are immune is denying ourselves, the truth that we are still imperfect and struggle with imperfections and sometimes those imperfections tend to manifest to the best of all struggles.

What I found really intriguing about this book is that it is an honest look at something that even a follower can find themselves not immune to…jealousy and the actions that can cripple not only our own walk, but our fellow believer’s walk if we are not careful of trying to bely what is really going on under the surface.

How many of us, not wish we were like someone else? Or see disputes started, often under very simplistic matters or compare someone or ourselves to someone else?

Reading 1 Corinthians 3:1-3 (NKJV), the following is shared:
1 And I, brethren, could not speak to you as to spiritual people but as to carnal, as to babes in Christ. 2 I fed you with milk and not with solid food; for until now you were not able to receive it, and even now you are still not able; 3 for you are still carnal. For where there are envy, strife, and divisions among you, are you not carnal and behaving like mere men? (1 Corinthians 3:1-3, New King James Version)
“Jealousy-The Sin No One Talks About” is an honest, challenging and convicting look at ourselves, at how we interact with others and how we can undermine our walk and that of others without even realizing it and the steps that we can take to overcome, to encourage, to discourage and to challenge ourselves and others, in what is in essence a sin.

I know. I know. It can’t happen to me, but it’s a sly, subtle and devious creature that sometimes can have us convincing ourselves, we’re really not jealous, we’re right, they’re wrong.

A worthwhile subject to dwelve into….”Jealousy-The Sin No One Talks About” is a “light” but intellectual read that will surely convict, challenge and encourage that our Father is bigger and above all that and can help us rise above the occassion. Though it may seem difficult to pick up, it’s difficult not to put down and instead helps us understand more about what jealousy is and isn’t and as a follower what we should know about “……The Sin No One Talks About”.

I’m sure this made an excellent sermon series. With further editing, it could become an excellent book. But as it stands, it’s a collection of sermons with far too much repetition to sustain interest

All I can say is LORD LORD LORD, thank you LORD for answering my prayer and helping me get corrected.

It didn’t take all this time to read and meditate on the words of this author, it took that time for my heart and mind to be right to accept the correction and being put back on God’s track not mine. A must study and meditate for all believers and those seeking your call in life. Excuse me, its my cry time now!!

It was a good book. I especially appreciated the author's honesty and vulnerability as he shared his own struggles with jealousy. I got several insights from the book that I'll be using in teaching, not just on the subject of jealousy, but on various subjects that he discussed in relation to his main theme.

This book was pretty insightful. Especially around the holidays where you can see sparks of jealously flare. I thought it was nice how the author shared with us his own experiences with jealousy as well as the bible's reference with the topic. I would say this book is sort of like a guide, helping you to become a better person.

R.T. Kendall has done it again. He writes in such a way that makes me go "wow, that is good". It is only after I think about it a while that I say, "Ouch, that hurt".
