It’s kind of an odd little tale for a children’s book, but certainly a good one. That is to say, the moral of the story is a reminder to wives. Ha, ha.

The kids will find the story engaging though, with geese and ducks and the other barn yard animals.

And Helen Sewell, who was the original illustrator of The Little House Books and did The Thanksgiving Story, is so iconic and adored in the children’s book world. Her pictures never disappoint.
