Countless billions of years into the future, all that remains of mankind and an entropic universe is a single City. Once an advanced and enlightened society powered by a mysterious source of infinite energy, the advanced civilization that created the City collapsed years ago, leaving their descendants to survive in the City's decaying ruins, struggling for food, water, electricity, and even breathable air. The eons have transformed the City into an urban wasteland, populated by mutants, monsters, and unspeakable things.
Ignorance and brutality are the norm; the only law is whatever the strongest choose to enforce, and those who know how to operate even the simplest of ancient machines are revered as sorcerers or prophets. In the City of No End the ultimate prize is control of the Temple. The Temple occupies the heart of the city and controls the destiny of all mankind. For it is the Temple which houses the single, infinite, source of power that keeps this crumbling city balanced on the precipice, averting, or at least delaying its final collapse.
Into this backdrop, mankind has descended into a feudal system of Nobles, Lords and Vassals, each vying for survival, resources and power in a city careening across the end of time.
