Better Homes and Gardens focuses on interests regarding homes, cooking, gardening, crafts, healthy living, decorating, and entertaining. The magazine is published 12 times per year by the Meredith Corporation. It was founded in 1922 by Edwin Meredith, who had previously been the United States Secretary of Agriculture under Woodrow Wilson.
Better Homes and Gardens is one of the "Seven Sisters", a group of women's service magazines.
I loved most of the alphabets in this book, but I wouldn't touch the other patterns (I prefer a less "boxy" style where not everything is outlined in backstitching). Even for the old-fashioned, sentimental look that's coming back into fashion with subversive cross stitch, this book fails for me. But I'll enjoy the supplements in my alphabet stash.
Great reference book for cross stitchers/crocheters/knitters/any crafter using grid patterns for their crafts! Love all the little designs, they come in so handy, and mixing and matching them for borders/motifs is amazing. The variety is excellent.
This is an awesome collection. I borrowed it from the library and I would like one to keep. Nice review of skills and color work, a wide array of patterns that are easy to follow.
This is one of my favorite books for designing my own patterns. It is so full of useful fonts, motifs, and borders. And it has a great index which is so necessary for a book like this!
Great collection of designs. I really enjoyed all the project ideas throughout the book, but especially all the graphs at the end for different project finishing options. It also contains great beginner cross stitch directions as well as 48 embroidery stitches to expand your stitching.
This book has really good quick patterns for bookmarks and such. If I wanted to, I could probably do a scene with some of the patterns also. In White County Library.
