I really liked this book. It was well written and entertaining. It tells the story of Princess Elizabeth and her ascent to the throne. Most of it is fabricated because, of course, we don't have these kind of details of her young life. The author takes the facts that we have and surmises how things may have happened. She does a fantastic job of it, too. This book would be great for middle-schoolers. It provides an "inside" look at how treacherous being royal used to be.

What an incredible book! Meyer's did an amazing job describing the intensity of life in the British monarchy back then.
