I honestly learned more about the Reagan administration and US-LATAM foreign policy reading this book than I did in AP US history. These essays are from the 80s, but they still resonate with current events today and examine a faith-based response to the refugee crisis. While obviously the discussion of international and US law is out of date and I need to examine further, I feel I have a better understanding of a particular period and how Christians in LATAM and the US faithfully, prayfully met it.
