Dmitri Burke is about to put plans in motion so he and the members of the Commission can retire comfortably as legitimate businessmen. But someone behind the scenes has been pulling strings, a puppet master of sorts, and when one of Dmitri’s family members is cut from ear to ear, a war ignites. No one is safe—Maria’s sister is ambushed and killed, Joseph’s wife is shot in the head, and hitmen try to gun down Dante in the streets. Dmitri and other crime families begin pointing fingers.
When hired gunmen try to stifle Dmitri and his pregnant wife, Isis, in their sprawling mansion and Nzinga is kidnapped, Dmitri orchestrates a plan that will wipe the Senate, Dante, Joseph, and Maria out in one swift move. At least that’s what he thinks. He just might miss out on the birth of his twins—if he survives the night.
I liked this better than part one. The author needs to give more details about the characters. I can't imagine what they look like only that the men wear name brands. The story is okay there's a lot going on. but it's just all about murder, money and power. There is something missing. They have everything and nothing. Eventually, I will read part 3 just because I need to see how it ends.
The job of the century is not to be taken lightly. When you have more enemy's because you want to go legal because the top spot is open and everybody wants it..... Be careful.
