In a traditional tale about the seasons and the importance of their cooperation in relation to the planet, winter refuses to submit to spring one year, and the stars are left to make the final decision on the matter.
A well written and illustrated Native American Woodland tale about animals and their quest to finding the summer birds. The fisher who leads them in this endeavor eventually becomes a constellation that the animals can rely on over and over again. This would be a great book to hide the text and have the students write the story from the illustrations. The message of this tale is to work together to accomplish a goal.
