A fat glossary of volcanic features of the world. Full of plates with descriptions depicting different aspects of volcanic landforms from volcanoes, lava tubes, lavas, breccia, ash, geysers, dikes, cinder cones, and much more.
The vast bulk of the book is made up of black and white photos. The actual glossary is less than 10% of the book. Unfortunately there is no index, though the whole book somewhat operates like one, it would have been nice to have a master list at the end. Green and Short's book is dated, but it is a unique collection of volcanic features rarely found elsewhere.
My personal favorites in the book are the parts on Oregon. A rare mention and photo of Surveyor's Ice Cave on Plate 138A. Other notable entries include caves of Lava Beds National Monument, pictures of Diamond Craters, Newberry Volcano and Craters of the Moon.
