When the Macedonians plan to "cleanse" their Albanian ethnic rivals from their shared country, Cable, a freedom fighter with allegiances to no faction but the innocents caught in the crossfire, uses his powerful philosophy of peace to put an end to the genocide.
I enjoyed this volume a good bit, felt that it built on the first volume and came together much better while still feeling a little disjointed. I'm a bit bummed that this version of Cable came and went so quickly because the premise is very cool and I think it could have built to something really interesting. The next Cable series as yet uncollected so I will be skipping it for the time being but from what I understand it jumps into another different and short-lived direction...
A bit of a week ending when Tischman left the book. It was basically just keeping time until Soldier X (which was an improvement was ready).
But continue the notion that Cable is now cured of the techno-virus and has defeated Apocalypse. (Near about when Joe Casey and Landronn's run ended and "The Twelve"/Ages of Apocalypse started).
There wasn't much flow in this trade. The issues seemed really disjointed. I also didn't like the art until 106, and then that seemed to have just been a guest artist for the one issue. I didn't know anything about Cable before and this did make me want to read more Cable stuff but not because it was good, but because Cable seems interesting.
